Memorial Day Thread

Let's have a place where we can reflect on Memorial Day and thank our troops for their service. I'd like to help our troops by getting them away from war zones that have nothing to do with keeping us safe as well as making sure they receive the medical and other services they need.

4,000

Two hours ago (March 23, 2008) the Associated Press reported that 4,000 U.S. soldiers have died in Iraq.

I don't see anything about it on the flag-on-every-lapel, support our troops, we're-more-patriotic-than-you-are website, but I do see a headline about an explosion at an Arkansas meat plant.

Chris Wallace praised by FOX Friends but they misrepresent his "achievement"

In an extended (4.5 minutes) remote interview with fellow FOX host Chris Wallace this morning 11/2/07 on FOX and Friends, his upcoming FOX News Sunday program was extensively promoted and teased. The Friends informed Wallace that he was featured on Page Six, the designated gossip section of sister company New York Post (not identified as such), an honor of which he was not aware.

Kilmeade: not one US military person killed in Iraq this week, but no one's talking about it - the Movie

Kimeade: not one US military person killed in Iraq this week, but no one's talking about it

On FOX and Friends this morning 10/26/07 host Brian Kilmeade, teasing a later segment with FOX's favorite Iran-Contra figure Oliver North, announced that "not one US military, member of the military, was killed in Iraq for the first time since 2004 this past week, and almost no one's talking about it." Probably because it ain't so.
