Fox Talks About 2 Missing Soldiers Found Tortured & Dead By First Talking About Success Of Al Zarqawi

Reported by Donna - June 20, 2006

The big news story today is that the bodies of the two missing soldiers have been found, but not on Fox. On Fox News Live with Bill Hemmer (12 - 1 p.m.) they opened their segment talking about the big success of killing Al Zarqawi and how this had opened up many other valuable raids. Reporter Mike Emmanuel talked about taking the fight to Al Qaeda.

As an afterthought Emmanuel mentioned that the bodies of the two missing soldiers had been found.

Comments: Instead of talking about finding the bodies of the two missing soldiers, Fox chose the bravada route, talking big about 'taking it to Al Qaeda' when this is, in fact a carry over story from Zarqawi's death a couple of weeks ago. The real new news is that the soldiers bodies have been found, but Fox chose not to lead with that story. They didn't go into any details but it's been said that they were brutally tortured and even possibly been decapitated. Since this has been the big story for days with over 8,000 soldiers looking for them, why wouldn't Fox lead with this story?
