Reported by Donna - June 15, 2006

It seems there are now 2,500 American soldiers who have died in the War in Iraq.

Washington, D.C. (AHN) - U.S. military deaths in Iraq have now topped 2500, three years after the U.S.-led forces invaded the country and removed President Saddam Hussein the Pentagon announced Thursday.

The statement added that 18,490 U.S. troops had been wounded in the war, which began in March 2003, while several tens of thousands of Iraqis had been killed, many of them in the terrorist attacks led by al Qaeda's Iraqi cell.
