Aria, you’re repeating a common misconception. The text does NOT say “Mount Ararat” but rather, “the mountains of Ararat.” (Gen 8:4)

Ararat is believed to be a geographical region that corresponds with an ancient kingdom called Urartu (which covered most of the eastern part of modern-day Turkey as well as parts of modern Armenia and Iran). Urartu just happened to have been a major kingdom—even a major power in the region—at roughly the time period that the Tanakh (the Hebrew Bible, corresponding to the Christian Old Testament) was first being written down, instead of merely being passed down orally. At the time, it was at the “edges” of the known civilized world (from the Hebrews’ perspective) and the mountains were the highest known peaks, far higher than any the Hebrews were directly familiar with.

Of course, it’s all a moot point since the Genesis account is pretty identical to a much older Sumerian flood story (the story of Ziusudra) and, there are suggestions that much of the Genesis story also added in elements the Hebrews had become familiar with during their time in Egypt (a place very familiar with severe flooding on a yearly basis in which local unprotected flora and fauna are killed but, after which, massive amounts of fertile silt cover the land).

Isn’t that exactly what FoxNoise is for GOPers? “Reaching out to the base?” GOPers are more than willing and ready to go to their “base” at every opportunity. Perhaps the Five and Tantaros need to speak with Martin Scorsese about HIS issues with censorship and protestors. I’m sure he’d be glad to have them play video footage of the conservative Christians protesting “The Last Temptation of Christ” (which was, incidentally, adapted from a book which appeared on the infamous Roman Catholic Index Librorum Prohibitorum—Index of Forbidden Books). Of course, the Five would probably be a bit embarassed at that footage, since there was a LOT of anti-Semitism at play in those protests.

In pimping the “pro-life” message she asked “is this a slippery slope and will it become a new destination for death tourism for families with kids who are suffering.” (And if so, what business is it of Fox News?)

Well, here’s a bit of news for Elizabeth: The majority of parents of the kids who are suffering so badly CANNOT afford to take a “vacation” anywhere (due to the medical bills they’re racking up caring for their suffering children) much less to Belgium. Travel to Belgium requires a passport (for each adult—I believe children are now required to have passports as well, if they’re over a certain age) and, of course, reservations for somewhere to stay and, of course, the plane or boat tickets to get there and back in the first place. You’re not talking cheap.

On the other hand, this would be much like abortion was in the 1950s. The RICH could afford to send their daughters overseas to “finishing schools” or “special resorts” or an expatriate “relative” when the girls’ clothes started becoming a bit snug and their figures started to expand in ways that Daddy and Mumsy found a bit embarassing. The poor, on the other hand, either sent their daughters to stay with out-of-town relatives or dealt with the consequences directly (sometimes even going to the same kind of extreme that Jack Nicholson discovered about his own family—“Mom” was actually his grandmother and “Big Sis” was actually his mother). With this Belgium deal, it’s the rich who can afford to take the trips and, OOPS, little Johnny who’d been suffering a debilitating illness suddenly has an “unfortunate accident” and comes home in a coffin.

You know—I’m not a psychiatrist or a psychologist but I did take a whole semester of psychology in high school (and got an “A” in the class).

(Perry deserves a special place in hell for her faux-lesbian tripe, “I Kissed a Girl”—not saying it’s not a fun little pop ditty, but the message is really not what people think it is. The title implies a coming out; the lyrics state it’s more the “Girls Gone Wild” trash. Minaj is more hype than any real talent and Kesha couldn’t sing her way out of a paper bag without her Autotune. The best thing to come from Kesha’s career so far: Julie Brown’s parody, “Another Drunk Chick.”)

Cheney should be on trial at the International Court of Justice for the crimes he and Dubya launched during the invasion of Iraq. (That or sitting in Gitmo, enjoying the same luxuries being afforded the rest of the prisoners there.)

Well, the only problem with a terrorist attack as even a remotely unlikely theory is it goes completely against the purposes of a terrorist attack: To instill terror.

Part of a terrorist attack, especially involving an airplane, is SOMEONE has to claim credit. So far, if any terrorist organization has taken credit, the media is sitting on it. As long as no one takes credit for the incident, there’s nothing to gain from the terrorist aspect.

Remember all the GOP legislatures insisting they had to force voters to show IDs to “end voter fraud?” Despite the fact that there really hasn’t been enough hard evidence of voter ID to warrant all this legislation.

Sorry, but when Cavuto decides to show even 1%* of the empathy for others that he seems to feel he’s due for his woes, then, and only then, will I offer him any praise for his PSA. As long as he continues to belittle others who suffer because of HIS boss’s (and his boss’s bosses) “We got ours, so screw you” mentality, he’s not worth wasting my time or sympathy on.

Lest we forget (and yes, I’m going to go Godwin here) Hitler, by all accounts, was a wonderful and devoted pet owner. That doesn’t even begin to make up for the rest of his inhuman attitude and treatment of his fellow humans.
