Bolling Not Happy At ‘Dummy’ Jon Stewart’s Mockery Of Attacks On Food Stamps

Posted by Ellen -7859.80pc on March 09, 2014 · Flag

Eric Bolling complained about Jon Stewart “mocking all of us at Fox News for shedding light on food stamp abuse.” Actually, Eric, Stewart mocked all of you for NOT shedding light on food stamp abuse. What Stewart did is highlight – in a devastating-to-Fox fashion - how the network feigns reporting to make propagandistic attacks on poor people. But rather than defend Fox coverage with, say, facts about that supposed food stamp abuse, Bolling repeated his evidence-free accusation. And then invited Stewart to come on the show.

One of Stewart’s many brilliant takedowns in his comic critique was by describing Fox food stamp reporting as: "We read the chain emails your Grandma gets in her inbox out loud like they were true."

And, as if to prove Stewart’s point, Bolling announced, during the segment below from yesterday’s Cashin’ In:

Let me school you, Mr. Stewart. Food stamps aren’t just being used for food. A lot of clowns are withdrawing cash from their EBT cards and then spending it on other things like booze, weed and lap dances. By the way, Jon, you’re welcome to come on the show any time to debate it, Dummy.

Don’t hold your breath waiting for Stewart to show up and give you some younger demo cred, Eric! But maybe, in the meanwhile, you could offer some actual statistics to back up your attacks on food stamp “clowns.”

Video of Bolling below, followed by The Daily Show’s brilliant commentary.

While I’m sure having Stewart as a guest on Bolling’s show would be ‘entertaining’, it would not be informative, which is what Stewart was criticizing-the lack of information being offered. I’m sure a visit by Stewart would be filled with shouting, snark and smirking, perhaps some mike cutting, plus some insightful humor from Stewart. but again, no real information would be offered up to the poor people who think they are being informed by Fox. I feel I have to explain this in case Bolling’s people read this. Fox’s Reality News is about TV personalities like Bolling, whereas news is about events, and public figures.

If Bolling can argue getting rid of a Food Stamp Program based on a handful of abusers, then will he call for the elimination of Wall Street Banksters in light of Bernie Madoff and other criminals who managed to tank the entire economy with their activities?

And this doesn’t even include those bi Wall Street banks.
I don’t suppose Bolling would have the guts to invite me on for a “debate?”

Now, Ellen. Really. When did right-wingers ever need to offer “actual statistics” to back up anything they’ve ever said or done? Remember all the GOP legislatures insisting they had to force voters to show IDs to “end voter fraud?” Despite the fact that there really hasn’t been enough hard evidence of voter ID to warrant all this legislation.

Bolling went on his social media and crowed that Stewart wouldn’t show up because Stewart’s “afraid of him, his panel, and his crew.” It’s like he’s admitting his whole plan would be a gang up masquerading as a panel debate, with cutting Stewart’s mic if he holds his own as a plan B.

...And then Bolling invited Stewart on the show.
