And I was going to ask him how Obama could be responsible for the violence (as he’d commented on the “deaths” caused by Maduro) when the Venezuelan gov’t ordered several US embassy workers to leave the country for “fomenting” the very opposition forces that Maduro’s people have allegedly killed. (However, I would like to know how Hannity and that criminal Ollie North would explain that little contradictory fact.)

I really don’t get O’Reilly’s problem. If the former spokesman for the GS is gay, where’s the kerfluffle? Furthermore, doesn’t O’Reilly believe that the Boy Scouts have a “right” to make their own decisions (free from any outside interference or agitation) about who they hire? If it’s good enough for the BSA, why, Bill, isn’t it good enough for the GSA?

Oh. I forgot. That’s SOP for the right-wing. Groups should be allowed to discriminate against LGBTs without any government harassment or interference; groups that don’t discriminate against LGBTs must be harassed by and must face interference from “concerned citizens.”

Please don’t take this the wrong way, Ellen, but, given that this site’s motto is “We watch Fox so you don’t have to,” it might’ve been nice if you’d made some reference as to what Crowley’s “latest conspiracy theory” is in the write-up rather than, essentially, making us have to “watch Fox” in order to find out.

I understand including the clip (as that’s pretty much SOP for NewsHounds) but, in the past, the point of including the clip has been more along the lines of “See it for yourself if you don’t believe us” than “Here’s a clip ‘cause I just can’t bring myself to validate the craziness by writing the words.”

Maybe Ms “Saladin” needs to explain her last name. Sounds mighty terroristy to me. (Saladin, for what it’s worth, is the name of one of Islam’s greatest military leaders.)

Perhaps Ms Guilfoyle should re-examine her critical comment to Mayor DeBlasio and see where she’s kind of missed the boat.

Well, Ms Guilfoyle, the mayor’s kind of pointing out that SOME of “New York City” is purposefully excluding another part of “New York City.” Are the St Pat march organizers excluding marchers who might be Jewish or Chinese or Black? I’m betting not. In fact, I doubt they’re excluding anyone from marching under their own banners—not even Protestants—except LGBTs who are of Irish heritage.

And since even LGBT taxpayers inevitably pick up the tab (through paying for police and post-parade clean-up), Ms Guilfoyle, it seems only reasonable that LGBTs should be allowed to participate. Just imagine the reaction from FoxNoise if a hypothetical LGBT parade deliberately went out of its way to exclude ANYONE, especially if taxpayers had to pay for even one single penny incurred by parade organizers.

Why should you be surprised?

1. The network’s whole ethos is based around the notion of profit-making—just like any televangelist huckster.

2. If the network had any journalistic integrity, it wouldn’t. But there’s little integrity to be had (of ANY shape, form or fashion) at FoxNoise.

Hate to break it to the Huckster but the Academy’s already sent out the ballots and write-ins are NOT allowed (Rule 5 Paragraph 5). Since the song was officially declared ineligible, it cannot be restored, no matter how upset or outraged some people may get about the disqualification (Rule 5, Paragraph 7).

Furthermore, FoxNoise viewers can get upset all they want but it’s not going to make the least bit of difference, unless they’re Academy voters (Rule 5, Paragraph 1). And even if they are Academy voters, write-ins are still not allowed. (I’m guessing that even if all the “outraged” Academy voters were to write in the song’s name, those votes would simply not count. And I’d also guess that the Academy ballots are sent out in a multi-page format—with each award on a separate sheet. I don’t know for certain since that information isn’t provided that I can find at the Oscar website. But if that is how it’s done, a write-in vote could likely be thrown in the garbage without affecting the rest of the voter’s ballot.)

I just read a story that “Fox & Fiends” DESPERATELY needs to cover.

Maybe they can get “mommy blogger” to comment on how the poor women of Oconee County will have to get by without their husbands’ and boyfriends’ “unique, heartfelt feelings” on that very special day. Hey, Dennis. You know those women whose “birth control is two jobs; they’re too tired to do it” you’re talking about? You’re making a BIG assumption (of course, that’s only natural for you) in thinking (something you’re not good at when someone’s not writing it for you) that those women’s husbands or boyfriends are “too tired to do it” as well.

Remember in those “good old days” (that you and BillO love reminiscing about), a woman’s “job” when it came to sex was “just lay back and think about the laundry” while the husband/boyfriend was putting in his 30-60 seconds worth of work. Just because a woman’s “too tired” isn’t going to cut it with a horned-up hound who “wants it now” or he’ll find someone who does want it (in other words, the FoxNoise desired male demographic—as opposed to their actual male demographic, most of whom are themselves too tired to do it).

You think Megyn would have a problem if she and the rest of the FoxNoise bimbos were constantly called the “FoxWhores?” I mean, they ARE after all whoring themselves—getting paid money for “services rendered.” Or maybe, given the amount they get paid, they’d prefer the “Fox Call Girls.”

As to what my last comment had to do with the current thread, remember we’ve got a couple of points that would upset Toddles (bless his heart*): First, there’s the Spanish-language aspect of it; and Secondly, the Pledge was written by a real honest-and-for-true Socialist (not the fake kind that FoxNoise likes to call Obama).

*As to the “bless his heart,” occasionally that’s “Southern code” for “damn, but he’s stupid.” (It’s actually code for a lot of things—usually “not good” things, especially when it follows something that sounds praiseworthy or complimentary. Something like, “Todd really does love his fried chicken, bless his heart” tends to translate as “Todd’s fat.” Or “Todd’s trying so hard to lose weight, bless his heart” tends to translate as “Todd really needs to quit stuffing his face if he expects to lose any weight.”)

Apparently for “Fox & Fiends,” playing by the rules is some sort of liberal idea. You’d think that Christians would understand how cheating is usually considered an offense to God and Christ.

I suppose if the “Fox Fiends” want to be consistent, they should take up the cause of Fab Morvan and reinstating his Best New Artist Grammy. (Fab is the surviving member of Milli Vanilli which had their Grammy stripped when it turned out that neither he nor Rob Pilatus had actually sung on the album.) Not really sure of Fab’s religious orientation but, still in the name of “fair and balance,” it only seems right.

Anonymous/Dissonance. the one thing you DON’T do in your self-identification is state your gender. But I find it very difficult to believe that ANY self-described liberal (and one who really is) would believe that Huckleberry didn’t say EXACTLY what he meant—in other words, he KNEW he was going to be making women appear to be helpless victims.

Go spend a few hours looking over the last 5 years of GOP attitudes towards women. Look at how they’ve been so quick to denounce the ACA’s covering birth control (not to mention how they’ve, well, misrepresented is too nice a word considering they’ve lied outright about it) and how businesses should be exempt if they have a “religious objection” to it—while COMPLETELY ignoring how Viagra and Cialis are covered by most insurance plans, even the ones available through the ACA. (And don’t forget how the GOP have gone out of their way promoting the idea that pharmacists should be permitted to NOT fill birth control prescriptions if they hold a “religious objection” to birth control.)

Furthermore, go back and look at how the GOP (through their fuhrer, Rush Limbaugh) chose to LIE about Sandra Fluke’s testimony (before the all-male House committee). Her testimony involved a friend of hers who needed birth control pills for other medical reasons but all the GOP could do was demonize Ms Fluke and basically call her a wanton slut who wanted the government to pay for her birth control.

You can disagree all you want but you’re wrong. Huckabee IS denigrating women but he’s claiming it’s the Democrats who are responsible for that denigrating.

Calvin Murphytroll doesn’t seem to realize that the WHOLE of FoxNoise’s ratings pale in comparison to the legitimate news networks (like CBS, NBC and ABC) which broadcast only 30 minutes of news per night.

But overall, he should realize his comment has zilch to do with FoxNoise hypocrisy in bringing on guests who indulge in unprecedented levels of hate-filled speech but gets in a tizzy when some “liberal” makes a comment that pales in comparison.

Even the Bible disproves the notion that God is infallible. Little story called “Noah and the Ark” where God realizes He made a mistake and decides to flood the whole world to start over.

Hell, if you want to go back even further, there’s the Garden of Eden. Who the hell puts a tree in the middle of the place and then tells His creations that they can eat anything in the Garden—but not from that one tree. And then, why did God create a crafty talking snake? None of the other animals seem to have the power of speech but the snake does. Between putting a talking snake and a “forbidden” tree in His perfect garden, I’d say that’s a bit more evidence of an infallible God.

No, Mr O’Reilly, that’s not it at all. What it IS, however, is that “the truth is the interview dealt with phony issues, stuff trumped up by the FoxNoise Channel.”

Gee. Who knew that “truth” could be defined as “liberal spin?” But, Mr O’Reilly, that’s the liberal spin truth of the matter. No matter how much you want to play the Three Monkeys with it, there it is.

I don’t think it was a “snub” for “Inside Llewyn Davis” as much as it was technical issues over how much of the only “original” song, “Please Mr Kennedy,” was actually “original” by Academy standards. Songwriter T-Bone Burnett acknowledged that the song borrows from several sources (with its original inspiration being the old Larry Verne novelty song, “Mr Custer” as well as an attempt to emulate Tom Lehrer’s style) and isn’t upset over the lack of nomination.

The fact that it was nominated for a Golden Globe doesn’t really say much. The Golden Globes criteria is different from the Oscars (an example—Emmylou Harris’s beautiful song “A Love That Will Never Grow Old” from “Brokeback Mountain” was not only nominated but WON the Golden Globe but wasn’t even nominated for the Academy Awards because it didn’t get enough play time IN the movie; in the film, it only plays about 30 seconds in a scene where Jake Gyllenhaal is driving his truck). And since 2000’s Golden Globes, there’ve only been 4 songs that won the Golden Globe AND won the Oscar and only 3 other songs (including U2’s “Ordinary Love”) have even been nominated for the Oscar. OTOH, the other 7 Golden Globe winners didn’t even earn an Oscar nod (and, with the “exception” of Harris’s performance, the performers of those other Golden Globe winning songs were all by music superstars—Springsteen, Prince, Madonna, Cher, Mick Jagger, Eddie Vedder—aside from Cher’s song which was written by Diane Warren, the performers of those winning songs either wrote or co-wrote the songs).

For the record, here’s a link to the Oscar qualifications for Best Original Song, http://www.oscars.org/awards/academyawards/rules/86/rule15.html and according to Section 2, paragraph E, dealing with songwriting credits, there’s a list of exclusions; the second line excludes “partial contributors,” defined as “any writer not responsible for the overall design of the work” and one of the songwriter credits for “Please Mr Kennedy” is George Cromarty, a man who died in 1992 (unless someone can prove they held a successful seance and got Mr Cromarty’s active participation, I’d say that’s a pretty good reason for the song to be excluded).
