Joseph West commented on Fox News Outrageous Quote Of The Week Poll – Duck Dynasty/Phil Robertson Edition 2013-12-30 01:04:33 -0500 · Flag
Oh. Here’s something of interest. (You may already have known it but I just found it out.) It turns out that Townhall.com is owned by a group called Salem Communications—which is, as Wikipedia describes it, “an American radio broadcaster, Internet content provider, and magazine and book publisher based in Camarillo, California, targeting audiences interested in Christian and family-themed content and conservative values.”

Now, you’d think that a company interested in such content and values would be above allowing one of its subsidiaries to post a poll with such a blatant lie. (I mean, okay, the Commandment is “Thou shalt not bear false witness” but most religious views take that to mean the same as “thou shalt not lie.” So much for “Christian” content, right?)

WALLACE: Do you think there is a political motivation to this “Times” report? Some people have suggested, well, this is trying to clear the deck for Hillary Clinton in 2016.

Those “people” being Roger Ailes and Rush Limbaugh and other right-wingers who should be in a padded room in Arkham Asylum. They’d fit right in with the likes of the Joker, the Riddler, Killer Croc and the Mad Hatter.

Joseph West commented on On Fox & Friends: Former Vatican Ambassador Still Whining About Embassy Move 2013-12-30 00:44:55 -0500 · Flag
It is really past time for the Vatican to tell FoxNoise, “Shut the f*ck up already. Jesus and the Church have survived for 2000 years without your help; we think we can last a bit longer without it as well. And, by the way, we ARE a sovereign nation and this move was made with OUR approval so you idiots can go find something else to complain about.”

Joseph West commented on The Republican/Fox News Benghazi Conspiracy Destroyed By New York Times Bombshell Report 2013-12-29 01:22:32 -0500 · Flag
Of course, FoxNoise and the GOP support the Times when it’s critical of Democratic presidents and favorable to GOP presidents. I seem to recall a lot of folks at the Times who did everything short of perform oral sex on members of the Dubya administration in support of the invasion of Iraq and FoxNoise were grateful for the support. Now that a Times story proves the GOP and FoxNoise to have a whole lot of nothing when it comes to Benghazi, we’ll see it dismissed as nothing more than a liberal rag (as others have already noted).

Ellen, are you talking about the post that starts “Bream?” I don’t see why that comment is worthy of being banned, and it certainly doesn’t “prove that we’re haters.” Especially when the folks on this website do such a good job of rounding up comments posted on the Fox(Noise)Nation.com website which make “FoxWhore” look positively tame.

I certainly don’t recall anyone actually coming right out and wishing to kill any of the FoxNoise talking heads (unlike the many FoxNation commenters who routinely discuss killing the President).

But, as you decide. It just seems a bit of overkill (especially as several REGULAR commenters have used the word “whore” in reference to a certain right-wing Snow Queen).

Camille, you’ve undercut your very argument.

“But, for those who find comfort in their religion, whatever it is, I say more power to you, as long as don’t force your beliefs down my throat.”

What do you think this whole manufactured “War on Christmas” being waged by Bill O’Reilly, the rest of the FoxNoise kkkrew, and their associates (such as Sarah Palin) has been about? There’s been no “live and let live” with them; it’s all been about returning to the America which ignored the feelings of those who didn’t wish to engage in the “Christmas Experience.” That America wasn’t really a “melting pot” as much as it was a Borg-style forced assimilation; if you had nothing to offer, you were eliminated. While mass murder wasn’t condoned by America’s leadership, shunning certainly was. Children who didn’t believe in Jesus were forced to pray (in the approved way—one of the school prayer lawsuits actually came about because the school forced the kids to hold their hands in an “acceptable” manner, a manner which was not the way their parents had taught them), and even after kids were given an “opt-out” from the prayer, they still faced ridicule by their classmates—and, frequently, with the full approval and co-operation of school staff. And kids who didn’t want to be hassled or ridiculed by their classmates started participating, against their wills.

Yep. THAT is the America that the FoxNoise kkkrew and their fellow cons, including the Teabaggers, want “back,” no matter have to suffer because of right-wing nutjob greed.

You remember that story about the Amish (or was it Mennonite) men who were victims of wicked beard cutting? I kind of wish someone would visit the Robertson men with soap and a straight razor. (Or at least give them a damn beard trimmer. There is NO excuse for any American man to look like your standard Muslim terrorist. Even if he does sound as reasonable as any member of the Taliban or the al-Qaeda splinter groups.)

Joseph West commented on On Fox & Friends: Jesus Says War On Christmas Is Anti-American? 2013-12-25 17:56:24 -0500 · Flag
Here’s a bit from point #4 of Cracked.com’s “5 Reasons Christmas Is the Most Dangerous Time of the Year”:

“And if you’re feeling smug that you get around all this stress by not celebrating Christmas because you are irreligious or practice a different religion, don’t worry, it still manages to mess you up, too! One study found that the presence of a Christmas tree in a room made non-Christians feel subconsciously excluded and less happy than when there were no signs of the holiday around. So by making you feel like an outsider, Christmas is making sure that everyone is equally depressed at this supposedly joyous time of year.”

The #4 reason is “Stress and Depression.” But I thought that passage (at the end of the reason) was particularly relevant and should be required reading by Bill O’Reilly and the rest of the Cafeteria Christian kkkrew at FoxNoise.

(Full list of reasons at http://www.cracked.com/blog/5-reasons-christmas-most-dangerous-time-year/ . The site is largely humorous but, every so often, it tackles serious subjects, although with a bit of tongue firmly planted in cheek.)

doors, it’s actually going to be sooner than you think. A&E’s already announced that the new shows beginning in JANUARY WILL feature Phil. Apparently, A&E believes that “being suspended” means something while the show’s on hiatus.

Oh, and did you miss Sunday’s “Duck Dynasty” marathon?

Oh, to be able to respond to some of these morons.

To the idiot offering the homeless vet a “whole braised chicken.” Did you stop to think WHERE THE HELL WAS HE GOING TO PUT IT? The homeless can go to shelters for food, you idiot; it’s not as easy for them to just, well, what was he going to do with it? Did you expect him to eat the WHOLE BIRD right then and there? You didn’t bother to tell us what you gave it to him in. Did you hand it to him on a paper plate or a batch of paper towels? And also, really, would YOU take a “whole braised chicken” from someone YOU didn’t know? For all the guy knows, you could be some crazed serial killer, and the chicken was laced with arsenic or rat poison that would’ve killed him within hours of eating it.

As for the moron “concerned” about the licensing of navigators, he or she should do some research before showing his/her stupidity (even to the idiots at FoxNoise). I did a search asking the question, “are navigators required to be licensed by state insurance boards” and the first ten results I got seemed to indicate that the states displaying in the results have some sort of LICENSING information available. IN THE SEARCH RESULTS BRIEF. The first two results both come from Tennessee’s Insurance Division (both display information on how to apply to become a “navigator”). The third, from Indiana, is a bit vaguer in the brief but when you go to the website, there IS information about becoming a “navigator.” And the remaining 7 hits ALL have “navigator” information in the brief (the states are Illinois, Florida, Ohio, Missouri, Mississippi, Montana and Georgia—you might have noticed, a number of these are “red” states or have GOP governors). So your little “concern” has already been addressed (the Indiana website was dated in AUGUST of 2013—the pdf that I read was basically how one went about applying to become a “navigator”) and it proves your stupidity.

Joseph West commented on Todd Starnes: If Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson Had Been Twerking A Duck, He Would Have Gotten An Emmy 2013-12-22 01:45:57 -0500 · Flag
Obviously Starnes has NO clue about the Emmy Awards. Robertson’s comments were made in a MAGAZINE INTERVIEW (GQ, to be specific). Magazines are NOT eligible for Emmy consideration since, you know, the Emmys are presented (ostensibly) for “excellence in television programming” (another notion about which Starnes has no clue).

And, of course, if Robertson HAD been twerking on his show, I’m sure that FoxNoise would be right there treating him the same way they did Miley Cyrus for HER performance (which, by the way, ain’t gonna win an Emmy either since it really wasn’t all that great when it comes to full-on twerking). I have to admit a bit of confusion with the twerking analogy anyway. Did Starnes miss ALL THE CRITICISM that Miley received from the performance, EVEN from self-described liberals? About the only kind of “defense” offered to Miley was in a rather backhanded way—that Miley was being slammed for the performance while Robin Thicke wasn’t getting any heat (sort of like the way Janet Jackson got all the heat from “nipplegate” while her “partner in crime,” Justin Timberlake, didn’t suffer any negative feedback, aside from women’s groups who did condemn JT’s attempt to blame Janet for the whole thing) but that was still fairly mute compared to the absurd coverage of the incident.

And in all honesty, ain’t NO ONE who would want to see Phil Robertson twerking. (And anyone who would really needs to be institutionalized because they pose a danger to themselves—and others.)

Truman, the only difference is that the “Deliverance” hillbillies—while also scripted—were far more honest about themselves than the “real-life” Duck Dynasty dolts.

Oops. I made a slight error in that last posting. It wasn’t a Catholic school in California, but one in Washington State, and he wasn’t a teacher but a vice-principal. Still, though, neither of those corrections makes any real difference to the overall point I was trying to make.

Joseph West commented on Sarah Palin: Free Speech For Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson! For Martin Bashir? Not So Much 2013-12-21 13:26:23 -0500 · Flag
Teen Bo—you have a very odd definition of “violent action.” Oh, and you might want to remember HOW the whole incident started: The Quitta from Wasilla stated that paying the national debt was akin to slavery and then Bashir suggested she receive the same type of discipline some slaveowners doled out to their slaves. I was unaware that “discipline” now constitutes “violence” in the conservative mind (heh—oxymoron alert). Millions of children everywhere can now rest easy that their parents’ discipline ONLY means being paddled for wrongdoing or losing their X-box privileges or being chained up in a basement and not something truly “violent,” like being used as a human toilet bowl.

I trust you’re aware that there are people around the world who actually PAY to have people shit and piss in their mouths. (And I’ve got little reason to believe that Sarah Palin, if offered enough money upfront, wouldn’t hesitate to ingest shit since she spends so much time spewing it out for free.)
