On a special Fox & Friends Christmas show yesterday, Fox News found a new way to use the season to stick a thumb in the eye of those they disagree with – in the name of Jesus: a special Christmas message from Duck Dynasty’s Willie and Korie Robertson. They’re the son and daughter-in-law of the beleaguered (and newly martyred on Fox) Phil Robertson.
Host Brian Kilmeade announced, “We’ve got a special Christmas message for our service members from one of America’s favorite families.”
Of course, what he really meant was “one of America’s favorite families if you think that smearing gays, African Americans and non-Christians” is just “expressing your religious beliefs” or putting you on the same page as the Pope or Martin Luther King.
In a very brief message, Willie Robertson said:
We want to take a second to wish all our men and women of the service, "happy holidays." We know it’s hard out there with the sacrifice and a lot of you guys been away from your families at Christmas. We’re so thankful from our family to yours. Thank you. Merry Christmas, have a great new year.
There’s no reason to doubt the sincerity and good will of the Robertsons. But there’s every reason to suspect the same from Fox News.
But we won't let their malevolence dampen our good will. All of us at News Hounds wish a Merry Christmas to the celebrants in our community. May everyone else – even the Fox News Scrooges - enjoy a peaceful and happy holiday.
But to Gretchen Carlson, who can’t see the baby Jesus because of a certain pole with beer cans, Happy Festivus!

Fox News only shows such gestures for people or groups that mirror their own hateful views. I can’t even really give them credit, past that some of them are scaling it back today. They get credit for that. Everything else? No.
