Fox’s Dr. Ablow: Obama’s Psychology ‘Directly Fueled’ Putin’s Invasion Of Crimea

Posted by Ellen -7859.80pc on March 11, 2014 · Flag

Fox News psychiatrist Dr. Keith Ablow wins the prize for the wackiest blaming of President Obama for Russia’s invasion of Crimea. Without benefit of examining either Vladimir Putin or Barack Obama – and with lots of supposition – Ablow told FoxNews.com readers that Obama’s goal of “disempowering” the United States meshes perfectly with Putin’s aim for the same thing. Must be read to be believed.

Ablow called his column, “Inside the mind of Vladimir Putin—Russian president no simple thug.” Ablow admitted right in his second sentence that he has “certainly not treated” Putin.  And I can guarantee you that Ablow has never treated Obama either. But Ablow didn’t let that stop him from concluding it’s really Obama’s psychology that is at fault for Putin’s thuggishness. Or, as Ablow put it, “I believe Putin’s psychology is being directly fueled by that of President Barack Obama. …Obama being Obama helps Putin be Putin.”

But wait, there’s more. Ablow wrote:

How then could Vladimir Putin fail to notice the remarkable presence on the world stage of an American counterpart (Barack Obama) who is as interested as he is in disempowering the United States?  How could he fail to act on the remarkable symmetry of such a moment in history?  To not test the possibility that God intends him to be the instrument of a new world order, based on Russia’s manifest destiny, would be contrary to every fiber in his being.

To go further, I do not believe that Vladimir Putin would miss the fact that Barack Obama has imperiled the notion of individual autonomy (by seeking to disarm Americans, by seeking to make Americans dependent on unemployment checks and food stamps and by making it officially impossible to choose how to spend your own money, via the Affordable Care Act).  Since giving each individual the right to power is not the goal of this American President, why would Putin believe that taking power from others would be opposed vigorously by this President’s Administration?

Then, after all this supposition, Ablow concludes by saying, "If Crimea becomes part of Russia or all of Ukraine does, it will be in no small measure due to the psychology of Vladimir Putin, and, in equal meaure, due to the psychology of Barack Obama."

This is not just what Fox considers legitimate punditry, this is what Fox considers a legitimate medical opinion. The article notes that Ablow is part of Fox’s “Medical A-Team.” Even though he seems to be the one needing a good shrink.

The game “Six-degrees of Separation” must have been a popular gift this last Christmas, among right-wing nut-jobs!

So much for the “party of personal responsibility” . . .

Joseph West, I think your chances are good – so long as you can come up with a reason to knock Obama and praise Republicans. Extra bonus points if you can work in Ronald Reagan!

You know—I’m not a psychiatrist or a psychologist but I did take a whole semester of psychology in high school (and got an “A” in the class).

Think I could get a job working for FoxNoise as an “expert?”

Ablow needs a good strong lawsuit shoved up his ass. About time somebody showed the guy that you can’t slander people on TV and get away with it.

This silly story does make me wonder about something more serious: how much of Putin’s behavior is influenced by the knowledge that no matter what action Obama may take against Putin’s invasion of Crimea, Obama will be vilified for it at home by Fox? And he will probably even be threatened with an investigation or impeachment for whatever he did/didn’t do during the Crimean crisis. But lets not talk about treason, because the psychology of Obama is so much more interesting :{
