Jon Stewart's Brilliant Takedown Of Fox News' War On The Poor And Eric Bolling

Posted by Ellen -7835.60pc on March 14, 2014 · Flag

Jon Stewart shredded Fox News' war on the poor last night. His monologue was so devastating, so complete and so hilarious that I doubt Eric Bolling, the Fox host whose complaint about Stewart precipitated this response, will ever challenge him on the air again.

You really don't need the backstory to appreciate just how masterfully Stewart destroys Fox's phony coverage of "food stamp abuse." But it adds an extra, satisfying (to us) dimension if you know that last week, Fox's Eric Bolling called Stewart "Dummy" over a previous - and equally brilliant - takedown of Fox News' war on the poor.

On the March 8 Cashin' In show, Bolling went after Stewart - and then invited him to give the show some younger demo cred come on Cashin' In and debate. Bolling said:

Let me school you, Mr. Stewart. Food stamps aren’t just being used for food. A lot of clowns are withdrawing cash from their EBT cards and then spending it on other things like booze, weed and lap dances. By the way, Jon, you’re welcome to come on the show any time to debate it, Dummy.

I think Bolling can take this as a "no." And considering how Stewart destroyed Bolling's credibility and also revealed his utter hypocrisy - at the same time he was made to look a fool - I have a feeling Bolling won't be complaining about Stewart on the air again any time soon.

Bravo!

@ Antoinette Dear Antoinette: because you mentioned joint business ventures, may I respectfully suggest visiting http://www.disinfo.com and purchasing the book “You Are Being Lied To” (just FYI, I have a copy as well as a copy of its sequel, “Everything You Know Is Wrong”). Mark my words: this book is a POSITIVELY EYE-OPENING AND JAW-DROPPING expose on the major media conglomerates (i.e. Time Warner, Disney, News Corporation, Viacom, CBS Corporation, Comcast Corporation, and General Electric). In my honest opinion, I believe the PRINCIPAL reason why the phone hacking scandals in the UK haven’t received anywhere near the coverage they should is because ALL OF THE MAJOR MEDIA CONGLOMERATES ARE INVESTED IN EACH OTHER! Like the ancient proverb says, FOLLOW THE $$S$!

Joseph, these networks may not like each other, but many are involved in business ventures with News Corporation.

News Corp. and NBC in Web Deal (2007)

Media Firms to Unveil Joint Venture for Digital Devices (2009)

http://online.wsj.com/news/articles/SB10001424052748704825504574582343994653198

This may explain why the media has not reported on the hacking scandals in the U.K. It all boils down to protecting business interests.

Ah, Jason Greenslate- Fraud of frauds. Fox News should have checked his social media to see that he’s not an unemployed surfer bum- He actually co-owns a gym, has an owners level of stock in a music studio, and a locally successful band.

Wait, then the question would have become how a rich person defrauded the system to get on stamps, and not what kind of a parasite the “surfer bum” is.

I got nothing on the rest of this- Stewart said it perfectly, but people tend to forget that Greenslate was quickly outed by the rest of the California music community, he’s notorious for that kinda shit statewide. If Stewart and his writers hadn’t forgotten that part, this would have been perfect.

Antoinette, maybe you can explain to me why it is that this country’s “liberal media” is NOT covering the UK woes of FoxNoise’s sugar daddy 24/7. I don’t even remember the last time I heard any significant mention of the trials in months.

Could it be that the “liberal media” is NOT as liberal as FoxNoise and the rest of the rabid right-wing noise machine like to pretend it is?

How stunning. Bolling says he was taken out of context. “Taken out of context” and “Some people say” are the two defenses taken by Faux to qualify anything they say.

You are spot on Aunty. Bolling will have all day to prepare his rebuttal. If he had a nutsack, he would go on the Daily Show to “school” Stewart some more.

Are you kidding.

Bolling has already offered 2 separate excuses/arguments today. Early this morning he said he was taken out of context with a Daily Show video slice & dice.

Then he decided that it’s a Daily Show false equivalency to pit legit tax breaks against people who are defrauding the system.

By the time The Five is on the air at — what time was that again — he’ll have his arguments, honed over the course of the day, down pat.

With all my love,
Aunty Headly

These Fox “News” frauds are in no position to talk about fraud, given the abuse and fraud of News Corporation’s News International in the U.K.

If Bolling Mad wants to sit down and talk about fraud let’s begin with the trials in the U.K.

Given the number of freelancers 21st Century Fox employs, we would not be surprised if they are on Food Stamps.
