Interesting Ablow only sees this as an attack on the poor Republican party and not as an attack on women, or even women victims of rape. This says a lot about Ablow’s misogyny.

Ingram misses the real point-on purpose. Religion has always been important to voters. Fox programming and its viewers are even more obsessed with religion than other outlets/viewers. Other people’s religion has always been fair game in politics. It would be very “PC” to ignore Romney’s faith simply because it is out of the mainstream. I for one am very curious about his faith and how it features in his life. I will look for that special on Mormonism.

If you go to a Christian high school’s football game you will find them praying before the game. This is why people send their kids to Christian schools – they include religion. These are the people who are willing to put up the money to educate their kids the way they want. They aren’t sitting around demanding the government do it for them. Personal responsbility and all that.

Akin didn’t just misspeak. He pulled back the curtain a bit too much on the rightwing attitude toward women, religion and abortion. The religious certitude that declares a fertilized egg to be a equivalent to a human being requires a certain certitude of thought that does not allow room for such things as pregnancy due to rape, or abortion to save the mother’s life. These things can’t exist along with the belief in the sacredness of the fertilized egg. Most Republicans just ignore these cognitive dissonances. When they do try to address them, you get bible-science nonsense like Akin’s comments. This is what they believe, or must believe, in order to hold to their egg-sacred culture. They just don’t want everyone knowing how flimsy the basis for their house-of-cards really is.

Isn’t this the plot of the soon-to-be-released-remake of Red Dawn? Maybe the judge has also seen the trailer after imbibing some hallucinogenics and now thinks he lives in a movie plot? If this is what judges are like in Lubbock, maybe we should let the UN have the place.

Speaking of getting a pass. I hear very little about Romney’s Mormonism, certainly nothing from big media. For myself, I see little difference between one miracle-based religion and another. But surely evangelicals, if they chose to, could have some real issues with this guy. But I guess IOKIYAR.

Akin has made it clear that lawmakers-especially male lawmakers- don’t really know enough about health and anatomy to be making decisions about women’s medical care.

This is the problem with religious fanatics making laws. They basically believe that God makes magical things happen. So it becomes easy to believe something incredibly magical and stupid like Akin’s rape-doesn’t-cause-pregancy idea.

Ryan’s original plan was for medicare vouchers TODAY, not 15 years down the road. (The rest of the party made him change it, lest seniors take them all out and hang them.) But really if tomorrow’s seniors are as powerful as today’s seniors, the voucher system will never be allowed to go into effect. So it is just another kick-the-can-down-the-road method of continuing to borrow and spend which is the only way Repub’s like to do business.

Since the Obama campaign has come up with some very successful attack ads against Romney, the new Republican meme is that this campaign is just so full of nasty attacks. Its quite funny coming from people such as Palin whose popularity came directly from ugly, nasty, name-calling attacks on others. If you took all political attacks off the table Fox would have to cut their broadcast day by 7/8.

I could see the lying in Morris’ eyes when he called Ryan an 8 or 9.

I’ve started playing a game called name the logical fallacy (of the Fox commentator). Through which I hope to learn more about logical v fallacious arguments. I’m calling this one: Mind projection fallacy-when one considers the way he sees the world as the way the world really is.

There is a simple solution to the right wing whine about entitlements. Raise the minimum wage so that someone working full-time at minimum wage earns more than the level needed to qualify for food stamps, Medicare and Housing. Its just that simple! By keeping the minimum wage low it is the right which has created dependency on the government. But the real beneficiaries of this dependence are the employers-like Walmart who can afford to pay more but don’t have to and don’t want to.

Sadly the right doesn’t want solutions, they just want talking points and low taxes for the hell-bound rich like O’Reilly.

At some point, isn’t it inevitable that Fox should stop allowing liberals and non-party line Repubs any air time? Haven’t they stopped using the’ fair and balanced’ tag line? don’t they frequently talk about their support for Repub candidates? The curtain is pulled halfway alreafy Corsi is probably a couple of years ahead of the curve but This change will also come. Their audience will demand nothing less.

Wow this was an actual “story” on The Five? Besides being a story only a moron could enjoy, I fear this meme of the noble minimum wage worker will be a new feature on Fox as they try to promote poverty as a noble way for some to live.

And since they brought it up in the first place—they need to ask this low-wage Chik-fil-A worker if she’d like her birth control covered by insurance.

This ad must have been very effective if Hannity and other Fox talkers have been condemning it so roundly. The ad contains the kind of emotional appeal that right-wingers so love-except when their opponents do it.

Careful Hannity, yours is the kind of audience that would easily believe such magical claims as Romney caused that woman’s cancer.

Obama’s campaign may be bringing the tax return issue up again and again. But Obama does not need to make a document swap with Romney, because it is the American people who need to see Romney’s tax returns, and NOT the opposing campaign. The American people elected Obama already without his showing school records and old passports, so we really don’t need them now.

Romney, I’ve heard is busily revising his old tax returns and will release the revised versions when they are done crafting them into a more ‘electable’ return.

Just what would they be investigating? Not the tax returns, that’s for sure. The right doesn’t care what’s in Mitts tax returns. They only want a name so they can trash the person who leaked this. They would probably say that person is envious of Mitt.

People want to be able to follow a faith which makes no sense in the modern world AND they want it to be effortless as well. There is a third option – stay in business, keep attending church and DON’T provide health insurance to employees, just pay the penalty.
