Just how hypocritical can religious people get before large numbers of people are brought up short by their blatant political campaigning and turn way from their corrupted message? I think churches should be allowed to engage in politics. It is probably the fastest way to cause their destruction. Maybe then we’d be left with churches which are in the business of charity and not in the hate business.

Every day millions of American women take their oral contraceptives-58% of them take these hormone pills for reasons other than birth control. But the vast misogynistic wing of the Republican party has labeled birth control pill takers “sluts” and those who would like their private insurer to cover these pills as lazy, socialists. (Sorry ladies, no there is no “free-market demand” for you and your birth control.

This isn’t the only issue for women, but it is very clear where Republicans stand on it, and I’m reminded of it every day when I take that pill.

Just take a look at the UK economy and compare it to ours. The austerity measures ushered in by the Conservatives after 2010 election have caused them to lose what economic gains they had under Labor. They are back in recession. While we steadily climb out out of trouble. The only and obvious answer is that the stimulus did work well.

The right wing seems to need to wear larger and larger blinders to block out the ugly truths that their policies and their political champions have done serious harm to the USA. This must be why a ‘journalist’ such as Hume can give credit to Bush for economic recovery, but no blame for causing the economic disaster in the first place. Those blinders are getting tight. Soon he’ll need a seeing-eye dog.

I don’t know if Mitt flip-flops because he is lying about his true beliefs to get votes, of if he just has no real belief in anything. All of the mistakes he’s made in his campaign lead me to believe that he isn’t quick enough on his feet to be a liar. I think those who follow a strict religion in which every detail of their lives have rules and regs, tend to get lost in the unscripted world outside of religion.

Wow! I dont want to know anything about this guys sex life. The only reason to I could imagine to mention it would be to encourage others to follow his lead. It boggles the mind that this event, in some ways similar to 9/11, can elicit such a different reaction from the right wing. Although, maybe we should have, no one was demanding Bush’s impeachment because people died on his watch and he was warned that it would happen. Despite our differences we got behind him and presented a unified USA. That’s what you do after an attack, at least if you are a decent, patriotic person.

I know Hannity looooves the USA, the only problem is the USA he loves is in an alternate history universe and bears no relation to this USA. I wish we could send him there.

Screaming at each other won’t improve anything. But it does make Bill-O and Fox lots and lots of money. If Fox were interested in news, truth or anything else useful they would not be registered as an Entertainment network instead of a News network.

BTW the St. Louis Post Dispatch has always been a great newspaper! They have stayed true to Joseph Pulitzer’s memory. Congrats to them.

It must be great comfort to the right to know that the polls are wrong, the media is against them , and on the day after the election they can add voter fraud to the mix of excuses that will sustain them until the next presidential election. All of this will be useless to anyone who wants to see Republicans actually get elected. But there are few on the right who really want to know the truth. Their politics of mean-spiritedness and divisiveness is highly unpalatable to the masses especially when so many are suffering economically.

Fox has had some luck manipulating the “mainstream media” in the past with their accusations of liberal bias. I hope the less partisan media won’t even blink at this hysterical attack-mode nonsense.

Americans are hurting and finally paying attention to the fact that Romney and the Reps have nothing new to offer—just more trickle-down economics. After a 30 year failed experiment with it, only the most ideological can still support such nonsense. I truly never understood how anyone could support the idea that giving more to the rich is a good solution for economic prosperity as it makes no logical or historical sense.

To Glen Steven Johnson, you seem to see weakness as anything short of ‘violent response to violence’. The exact same response those Muslim protesters had to being offended – btw. I wish we could put all the proponents of ‘violent response’ in a ring together to fight it out in Biblical fashion. Then the rest of us could carry on the business of a more civilized world.
