Donald Trump Goes Birther Again – Pretends It’s ‘Not My Big Issue’

Posted by Ellen -7842.60pc on August 07, 2012 · Flag

Donald Trump appeared on On The Record tonight for a lengthy interview in which he renewed his accusations that President Obama’s birth certificate is not valid and added to it by asking for his passport and college records. Host Greta Van Susteren has repeatedly made it clear she doesn’t buy Trump’s birtherism. Yet she once again presented Trump as a credible figure on the electoral scene.

Before the discussion went birther, Van Susteren and Trump pimped his upcoming role at the RNC convention. Oh, they couldn’t tell us what that will be. But Trump assured us it will be “Something very, very major.” Other than being named as the vice presidential candidate - which is hard to imagine as even a remote possibility – and with Gov. Chris Christie reportedly giving the keynote address, it’s hard to think what other “very, very major” role is left over. Unless, of course, Romney is planning to stand down and let the Birther Boy run instead.

Trump told Van Susteren,

What Governor Romney should do, in my opinion… is say I will give my tax returns if you open up your records. Because as you know, President Obama spent over $4 million trying to hide so many different things from his past – whether it’s college applications, college records, passport records and you know, nobody brings this up. Nobody says, ‘Open up your passport records. Open up your college applications. Open up your college records. Let’s see your life.’ And nobody brings this up.

Trump went on to say, “Most president have given their college records. All presidents have given – to the best of my knowledge – their passport records.”

And just how extensive is the “best” of Trump’s knowledge about “all” presidents “opening up their passport records?” Naturally, Van Susteren didn’t ask.

“Why is he spending $4 million on trying to keep ‘em secret?” Trump asked.

Van Susteren then gave Trump the opening to bring on the birther. “I thought that the birth issue had been put to rest with you to your satisfaction,” she said. “Most Americans are satisfied.”

In fact, just two months ago, Trump told Van Susteren, “There’s a lot of questions as to the authenticity of the birth certificate.”

Now, predictably, Trump said, “I don’t think people are satisfied at all.” Then he laughably said, “And it doesn’t matter. That’s not my big issue.” This, after it was his big issue ad nauseum on Fox. Again, Van Susteren let it go.

“My big issue are jobs and the fact that we have 8.3 unemployment,” Trump now said – after ignoring the subject all this time in favor of suggesting President Obama is really a foreigner.

Van Susteren, obviously skeptical, asked what he might expect to find on Obama’s college records. Once again, Trump was full of it. “I don’t want to get into it. I want to get into the fact that jobs. You asked me a question and I responded.” Yeah, right. It was only because of his focus on jobs that he brought up again Obama spending $4 million “on trying to keep things in hiding.”

But Trump went on to say, “I hope (the records and the passport) are 100% OK… As a good American and somebody that loves this country, I hope they’re 100% OK.” But, the good American continued, “I’m trying to figure out why would somebody spend $4 million to try and keep those record silenced?”

Van Susteren did question where Trump got the $4 million figure. “That was reported,” Trump told her. “I think it was pretty well documented.”

Except that after the segment aired, Van Susteren said she checked and could not confirm it.

I looked around too and all I could find it that some people are estimating that this $4 million is what Obama has probably spent in legal fees to pay the lawyers. I’m not sure how it is that Trump can claim that it’s been “pretty well documented” as I can’t find any actual documentation or citing of evidence.

However, in my search, I did find this: “Romney staff spent nearly $100,000 to hide records”

It seems that that Romney had his folks buy up all the computer drives to keep info about his MA Governship from prying eyes. LOL!

Mitt Romney’s father ran against Richard Nixon for the GOP presidential nomination for the 1968 election. Mitt Romney’s father was born in Mexico. The birther debate was resolved four decades ago because of Mitt Romney’s Mexican born father and it was decided that no matter where a person is born, if that person had one U.S.American parent, that person is a “natural born citizen” for constitutional presidential purposes.

This “debate” isn’t about where Pres. Obama was born. It’s about the colour of his skin.

Now, can some of you Democrats start talking about “Natural Born Romney ’68”?

I’d love to see that.

It’d be the perfect GOP ticket: a tax cheat and a serial bankruptee . . .

Nobody says, ‘Open up your passport records. Open up your college applications. Open up your college records. Let’s see your life.’ And nobody brings this up.

EARTH TO THE COMBOVER:

You want President Obama’s passport record? Just do the following -

Third party requests must include one of the following:

Notarized consent from the owner of the US Passport records,

Proof of guardianship,
Death certificate, or
Court order signed by a judge of competent jurisdiction requesting the Department of State to release US Passport records.

- then STFU.

EARTH TO THE REST OF THE AFTERBIRTHER IDIOTS:

The reason the President’s college transcripts are sealed is because both Columbia and Harvard. Are. Private. Institutions. And. Do. Not. Release. Anyone’s. Transcripts.

Obama’s campaign may be bringing the tax return issue up again and again. But Obama does not need to make a document swap with Romney, because it is the American people who need to see Romney’s tax returns, and NOT the opposing campaign. The American people elected Obama already without his showing school records and old passports, so we really don’t need them now.

Romney, I’ve heard is busily revising his old tax returns and will release the revised versions when they are done crafting them into a more ‘electable’ return.

I inadvertently got the time of the post wrong, so that it seemed to have been posted at 11:39 AM instead of PM. That’s why it may seem to have been in the wrong place on the page and then “jumped.”
