Talking with my husband during one of the shows, the commercials started to run and before I could hit the button on the remote to FF, I noticed that Fox Nation is now advertising for a new television show I guess based on their website. I was so repulsed, I can’t really remember now what cable channel the ad was on. When I do see it next though, I’m sure as hell going to write the network and tell what kind of reprehensible people they’re taking money from and what kind of filth they’re peddling.

I’ve said to my husband many times that I wish they’d let us all mark our votes on paper -not machines – and then hand count them including all the mail-in and absentee ballots, even if it took several weeks to hand count millions of votes.
Who cares if CNN, ABC, MSNBC….can’t be the first to call the election, sometimes erroneously I might add.
Elections aren’t, or shouldn’t be, about ratings, it should be about counting every vote and getting the count right. And making sure Russia or other right wingers cheating to win aren’t tipping the scales.

Off topic but Kevin, seeing that you mentioned the number 53 in your post, reminded me of something I saw on Facebook last night.

Trump could shoot someone on the floor of the Senate and he’d still be acquitted by a vote of 54-47.
Unless he shot a republican and then it’d be 53-47.

I’ve always associated Jim Crow with fascism, equating the majority of everyday Southern people with everyday Germans, Italians, Spainiards or myriad other people who’s worse inclinations had been exploited and incorporated into religious institutions and governments that relied on fear, mistrust and hate to maintain their power.

I bring this up because recently I went from Florida to Jersey and back again for a wedding/vacation. In the Carolinas, along I-95, there were billboards for Tulsi Gabbord for President. I told my husband I thought it was strange that of all people, there’d be billboards for her when she still is hardly registering in the polls and none for Biden, Sanders, Warren, etc.

Maybe Ellen is on to something along with Clinton. The forces of fascism that seem to concentrate in corporations, the South and the Midwest, the wealthy, the Evilgelicals, may, see her as a spoiler for the Dems and the salvation for Trump or worse, Pence, and the Republican party.
