Joseph West commented on Eric Bolling Says Fox's "The Five" Is Officially Anti-Abortion!? 2013-04-03 19:52:55 -0400 · Flag
“He named his pro-life Hollywood heroes and celebrities: Justin Bieber, Jack Nicholson, Donald Trump (oh yeah, what a pro-life role model!), Andrea Bocelli, and Martin Sheen. (ROFLMAO, all uterus-free males!!!!) After noting that these guys are “quiet” about their beliefs he asked if it’s because they’ll get blackballed if they go public."

Question: If all of these guys are “quiet about their beliefs,” then how does Bolling actually know about “their beliefs?” And why in the world would men like Nicholson or Sheen worry about being “blackballed?” Sheen, especially. Are we talking about the SAME Martin Sheen who publicly protested Dubya’s little “Adventures in Iraq-Invading,” who publicly endorsed walkouts to force California to honor the Cesar Chavez holiday, who opposes the death penalty? THAT Martin Sheen? (Yes, he opposes abortion, but he also opposes the death penalty; it’s a little philosophy known as the “consistent life ethic.” How many of “The Five,” do you suppose, are opponents of the death penalty and opponents of abortion? I’m guessing a grand total of NONE.) And Nicholson? When the hell has Nicholson ever worried about being “blackballed?”

And correct me if I’m mistaken, but aren’t Bocelli and Bieber kind of NOT American citizens? When have “The Five” given any credence to the opinions of non-American citizens?

“Malkin, who wrote a book defending the brutal and unjust internment of Japanese Americans during WWII and who thinks hate crimes are just hoaxes done to make white people look bad….”

Is this true? The Filipina anchor baby really wrote this about the internment of AMERICAN citizens and believes this about hate crimes?

Wow.

I can’t even begin to express what I’d love to see happen to the Filipina anchor baby without getting the actual comment banned here. (I will say it’s too bad both of her parents survived the Japanese occupation of the Philippines. I’m guessing, based on how old Misshell is, that both of her parents had to have been children, if not young teens, during the occupation.)

From the article: “The loons are taking my commentary out of context as they always do,” O’Reilly fumed.

Well, Sir Falafel, if they are, it’s only because they learned it from you! (Anyone else remember the old drug commercial where this outraged dad bursts into his teenage son’s room wanting to know why he was smoking weed, and the boy responds, very vehemently, “I learned it from watching you?”)

One could easily fill a book with all the times when Sir Falafel has taken other people’s words out of context.

@ mj: Of course, the Filipina anchor baby didn’t stop to think. Thinking involves the highly evolved mammalian brain. I strongly doubt that Misshell’s brain has evolved beyond the brain of your typical crocodile or cobra—with the exception of emotion (after all, when a crocodile attacks a human, it’s not out of hatred—just hunger or territoriality; Misshell, on the other hand, attacks humans out of sheer hatred).

And, don’t forget mj, that not all Christians celebrate the same Easter. This year, for example, most Eastern Orthodox Christians will celebrate Easter on May 5.

I’m surprised the FoxFiends weren’t outraged that Google failed to doodle something in honor of Passover (which, coincidentally, fell during Western Christianity’s Holy Week this year). Oh wait. The “Judeo” part of “Judeo-Christian” is only important when the right-wing is trying to put on a face of “common religious heritage” (and only as long as Jews realize they’d better stay in their place).

““Twitchy”?
Is that what Malkin calls her blog? It suits her.

{Though it would be even more apt if she either replaced the “Tw” with a “B”, or the “chy” with an “s”.}"

You could think of it this way—It’s T witchy (T for “teabagging”). I think it’s suitable.

So, “daring to think for himself” = “spewing the FoxNoise party line.” That’s what I get from it. Am I wrong?

Perhaps the Filipina anchor baby needs to check the dictionary. I’d be willing to bet that, beside the entry for “emetic,” there’d be a picture of her.

Gotta wonder what some of the more conservative African-Americans think about their “fellow” KKKonservatives’ racist comments. Just imagine the right-wing reaction if a “liberal” site had allowed such comments to have been made about Condoleeza Rice.

“And the talking heads at Fox are so desperate to find their knight in shining armor that they’re not asking the difficult questions. Maybe the doctor should offer them all brain surgery.”

Well, he can only offer “surgery” if the patient has a relatively functional brain. As far as I’m concerned, every time the FoxNoise kkkrew come on the air, the accompanying music should be “If I Only Had a Brain” (as sung by the late Ray Bolger).

This is one reason why I did not, could not and would not offer any sympathy when Breitbart dropped dead. The man was pure scum when he was alive and no one in his family was willing to get him to stop his lies, his smears, or his evil-doing in general so they didn’t deserve any sympathy following his death. (Frankly, given all the times he broke the 9th Commandment—or 8th, under Catholic and Lutheran teachings—a suggestion could be made that “Someone” got tired of it and decided to teach Mr Breitbart a good lesson. Just too bad that his “cultists” didn’t get the message.)

@ doors17: What’s more interesting is that the states in which Thomas has claimed residency over the years ALL banned interracial marriage prior to the Loving decision. He was born and raised in Georgia (interracial marriage banned until the Loving decision). He was admitted to the bar in Missouri (again, interracial marriage banned until the Loving decision). And, according to Wikipedia, Mrs Thomas’s current residence is in Virginia and one would hope the couple lives together (and, of course, interracial marriage was banned until the Loving decision).

Aria, “Joe” also forgets that textbooks used in Texas must be approved by one of the most right-wing State school boards that has ever existed. And, because Texas has the nation’s largest school system, almost every textbook publisher has their books written so they’ll be accepted by the Texas textbook commission (regardless of where the textbooks are going to be bought and used). It’s easier for a publisher to sell their textbooks based on the largest market rather than based on a market that accounts for less than 5% of the total.

If the Texas wingnut and her Faux fiends want to blame anyone, they need to start with the Texas school textbook commission.

What’s the big deal about the Florida case? From what I’ve read, the professor said to write the name on a piece of paper and then step on it. It’s not like the class was given a piece of the True Cross or a copy of the Bible (or Book of Mormon) and step on those. (Does anyone think the student would’ve objected to being told to stomp on a copy of the cast recording of “The Book of Mormon?”)

Megyn Kelly’s “favorite” axiom: ‘Winners take responsibility, losers blame others.’

How true, how true. And we saw a whole lot of that axiom in action following the results of the November election as FoxNoise’s kkkrew spent time taking responsibility blaming everyone but their own message for Romney’s loss. And it was on full display at the CPAC convention as not a single person there was doing anything BUT blaming “others” (mostly GOPers who insisted on making Romney the Presidential nominee) for all the right-wing’s woes.

Joseph West commented on Fox’s Solution For Lack Of Retirement Savings: Scrap Social Security! 2013-03-27 02:26:41 -0400 · Flag
Actually, Kevin, I believe that if the gov’t scrapped the Social Security cap, it could lower the SoSec tax rate. If, for example, let’s say that the gov’t scraps the cap and then the SoSec rate was cut by half (to 3.1%), someone earning a $1,000,000 would pay $31,000. Currently, someone earning $50,000 a year would pay $3100 in SoSec taxes (that’s at the current 6.2% rate); under the lower rate, the same worker would only pay $1550. And considering that, for the past two years, workers had a “tax holiday” in which SoSec taxes were only withheld at a 4.2% rate, just imagine how much money would be freed up for low-to-middle-level income workers every year with no cap on withholding and a lower rate. These workers could choose to put that cash in an additional “retirement” fund or maybe even spend that money, putting it into the economy. (And with ticks and leeches like Koch Brothers and Sheldon Adelson and Mittens Romney having to pay out their legitimate “fair share,” SoSec would be fully solvent for at least the next century.)

Why didn’t Hucksterbee ask these women why they weren’t being good women and staying at home, taking care of their husbands and children instead of taking jobs (no matter how despicable)?

It’s so funny to me how men like Hucksterbee are so demanding to control every aspect of a woman’s private life but aren’t willing to take a stand against women working outside the home. That sounds a little hypocritical, if you ask me.

Aria, “The Americans” doesn’t really “glorif[y] KGB agents.” Unless, that is, you think that “Oz” glorified prison life. From what I’ve seen of “The Americans” (I’m actually a couple of episodes behind on the show), there is NO freakin’ way I’d want to be a deep cover operative for anyone. (Especially when you consider the Russian husband-and-wife didn’t even know each other before they were assigned; the wife went through at least two successful pregnancies. That’s what I would consider going above-and-beyond the call of duty—having sex with a man you hardly know and having two pregnancies go full-term and delivering those children while you’re also doing your spy stuff for your masters in the Kremlin.)

Joseph West commented on Fox & Friends Enlist In The War On Easter 2013-03-25 01:41:55 -0400 · Flag
Maybe someone needs to remind the Fakes and Fiends that the very word “Easter” derives from an ancient Germanic goddess, Eostre (also known as Ostara, or possibly Austra). What’s also interesting is that only English and German use this etymology. In nearly every other European language (Spanish, Russian, French, Swedish, Greek, Irish Gaelic), the local term for Easter is related to the Hebrew festival of Passover (in Hebrew, Pesach).

Of course, this would’ve required the Fakes and Fiends to have done a little research (a word, like facts, that terrifies right-wingers).

For Bill, this is an open invitation for evil NY women to do what their slutty sisters did in Kansas where “for $5,000 you could go there for any reason at all, he would terminate in the third trimester.”."

Yeah….‘cause all those women in need of a “third trimester” abortion just happened to have $5000 laying around. Bill obviously thinks EVERYONE’s checking account is as plentiful as his.
