Fox & Friends is the go-to Fox show for the church of the perpetually outraged Christians. Thus, it wasn't a surprise to see them jump on the latest faux Christian outrage, also pimped by alleged Fox newsman, Bill Hemmer, about this Sunday's "Google Doodle" which honored Cesar Chavez rather than their favorite lord and savior, Jesus Christ. The reality that Google does not honor religious leaders was lost to Jesus' BFF's on the curvy couch. But they needed yet another example of the godless hordes who hate Christianity when the reality is that America's Christians have day time jobs and they're doing all right. But one does wonder how Fox's audience would react if, as suggested by Steve Doocy, Google honors Muslim holidays!
One can certainly understand why Google doesn't honor religious figures (especially those who are worshipped) because, well, not everybody honors or worships these figures because of, well, history which informs us that lots of folks were persecuted because they didn't honor or worship the god or religious figure du jour. While Christianity has brought solace, education, and medical care to many people, it has a rather unsavory history of inquisitions, crusades, support of slavery and so forth. Google is used world wide so supporting one religion over others or none, well you get the picture.
But these inconvenient truths didn't stop the curvy, couch congregation who started yesterday morning, bright and early, with their report about Christians who are "upset" with Google. Gretchen Carlson, her perk and pretty purple skirt showing a vast expanse of shapely Christian leg, reported that Christians are considering a boycott of Google because Google honored OMG the leader of the United Farm Workers, Cesar Chavez who almost got thrown out of the conservative, Christian Texas curriculum that Fox & Friends so lovingly supported. Gretch said that the Google response was more "inciting" than if they hadn't responded because OMG they said that "they wanted to honor historical figures who had an impression on life."
Gretch guffawed as she shouted that "Jesus doesn't stack up in historical books I guess only the bible which is the number one selling book in the world." (Hey Gretch, porno is also a big seller, so should Google honor that?) Steve Doocy mentioned that Google only did one Easter doodle, but not on Easter, and that as far as he knew they never did a Christmas doodle but they have done "Happy Holidays" which, on Fox News, is a very blasphemous term. As the chyron read "Cesar over Jesus? Leftist Activist Trumps Christian Holiday," Doocy suggested that Google honor Ramadan and Buddhist holidays so that people can learn about other religion
STOP RIGHT HERE - can you imagine the Christian outrage if that happened ?! And BTW, this is the same Steve Doocy who validated a Texas Board of Education paranoid claim that Texas textbooks have pro-Islam, anti-Christian bias The chyron reinforced how the audience should feel: "Good bye Google, Christians Outraged Over Google's Homepage." After advocating for Google cultural diversity, he concluded that the Google Doodle looked a little "PC."
Lost in the Fox "outrage" is the fact that Cesar Chavez' concern for the poor was a living example of the teachings of the biblical Jesus. At Chavez' funeral, Los Angeles Cardinal Mahoney referred to Mr. Chavez as a "true prophet," and compared him to "the Apostle James, who dedicated his life to championing justice and dignity for the poor." But who needs facts when preaching Roger Ailes' gospel of F&%K everybody who doesn't agree with us!

The rightwingnuts love Jews — as long as they’re killing Muslims in the Middle East.
Any other time, they have no use for them — then they’re nothing but, as Crazy Annie Coulter put it, "Christians who need to be ‘perfected’ " . . .
.
I’m surprised the FoxFiends weren’t outraged that Google failed to doodle something in honor of Passover (which, coincidentally, fell during Western Christianity’s Holy Week this year). Oh wait. The “Judeo” part of “Judeo-Christian” is only important when the right-wing is trying to put on a face of “common religious heritage” (and only as long as Jews realize they’d better stay in their place).
Google honored Cesar Chavez on March 31st because March 31st was his birthday.
March 31st will ALWAYS be Chavez’s birthday.
March 31st WILL NOT always be Easter {in the Gregorian calendar, Easter can occur on any Sunday between March 22 and April 25.}
Is it sinking in now?
