Somehow, I can’t see FoxNoise letting that go unchallenged.

Of course, when one of THEIR employees gives an on-air JeffGannon to the man who was that employee’s former boss, well, then, that’s 1000% different.

But zaglossus, the back-alley ones wouldn’t be frequented by those of Bill’s class (or, more accurately, his superiors) who’d be able to send their daughters to “special overseas boarding schools for the term*” and their wives would suddenly decide that she needs a nice “extended” overseas vacation—the fact that her destination is a country where abortion is fully legal would be sheer coincidence and not at all a factor in the choice*.

*Neither word was deliberately intended to be used for their connections to pregnancy and abortion but both seem particularly appropriate in this context.

One could say much about ANYTHING—“Fast and Furious” (begun under Dubya but only a source of “controversy” under Obama) or even “free phones” (begun under Reagan and expanded to cell phones under Dubya but, again, only a source of “controversy” under Obama) or the “Boston Marathon Terror Strike” (according to some of the right-wing nuts, it’s a “failure” of intel services under Obama but these same nuts completely forget about that little PDB handed to Dubya in August 2001; of course, they’re also forgetting that Pres Obama didn’t get caught for posterity looking a deer in the headlights the same way Dubya did a half-hour after 9/11).

All the right-wing nuts need to hear is “Obama” mentioned with something the right-wing considers to be an “important controversy” and they’re off to see who can make the most outrageous statement without crossing the lines of slander or libel. (Of course, with the FoxNoise hosts and their legions of wannabes, you just know what their first reaction would be when slapped with a slander or libel lawsuit: “This is an infringement of my First Amendment rights!” But let someone slander or libel the FoxNoise folks or their wannabes, just see how fast the lawsuit flies into court.)

“The Jeffersons” still airs on the TV One network which largely caters to an African-American audience. Its programming consists mostly of reruns of shows like “Good Times” and “A Different World.”

But I suppose TV One isn’t a “television network” by whatever standards Kilmeade decides to use today.

So……did FoxNoise extend all this vile and outrage over all the female teachers who were having sex with their male students? I mean, with all the “slut-shaming” of Sandra Fluke over contraceptives, you’d think that FoxNoise would be all over the REAL “sluts” who were preying on innocent young men all over the country.

For some reason, though, I don’t think FoxNoise was as upset over THAT form of pedophilia. (In fact, it wouldn’t surprise me if the “male” FoxNoise talking heads were reacting the same way so many male commentators on other news sites were reacting: The old “where were these teachers when I was in school” ploy.)

Of course, it also wouldn’t surprise me if these FoxNution mouth-breathers weren’t more upset that there wasn’t any video for them to watch. We all know how straight men feel about lesbian porn—and “conservative” straight men are NO exception.

The first paragraph ends with the statement: Noting that “some Republicans” must be getting concerned, Cavuto “asked,” “It really isn’t the Republicans’ fault, is it?” Cavuto set it up for Moore to blame Obama so why should he challenge the premise he initiated?

@ Visitor55: Did you see the recently reprinted story at “The Exiled” on “How to Spot a Chechen?” It’s been shown on the “Banter Wire” sidebar for the past few days. But in case you haven’t, the address is exiledonline.com/spot-the-chechen/ . The story has a lot of pictures of people who are “ethnic” Chechens. The first picture on the site is of 7 young Chechen men with a series of comments about the men. Here’s a few of the comments about the men:
“Looks like the right type for the Soprano family.”
“Mediterranean sort of type….or even Latin?”
“Asian? Central Asian? Know his Indonesian lookalike. Sorry, I’m taking it back—seems the guy has blue eyes.”
And, perhaps my favorite:
“This face pops up across Europe and both Americas. Lots of French look like him, poor guy…” (Not only is it perhaps my favorite comment, the guy is pretty damn cute.)

There’s also a picture of a group of 8 Chechen women, with a comment that “even the one on the far end would easily pass for, let’s say, an Armenian.”

Of course, I’m guessing that I know which side Bolling was supporting during the Bosnian conflict—the side that was ethnically cleansing all those swarthy dark-complected Muslims. Oh wait. This was Bosnia—where all the Muslims looked pretty much like their Serbian Orthodox Christian neighbors. I wonder if Bolling would’ve been able to distinguish between a Bosnian Muslim and a Bosnian Serb just by looking at their faces. He seems to think profiling’s no big deal but it’s a bit harder when the “good guy” and the “bad guy” pretty much look alike.

Incidentally, I’d also love to take a random assortment of men from Israel and Palestine, strip them naked, and tape their mouths and have Bolling identify which men are Israelis and which are Palestinians. He’d then have to tell which men are Jews, which are Muslims and which are Christians. Somehow, I think he’d fail the test miserably.

What is so insane is that, just 50 years ago, these same people who now fit the description of “Christian Zionist” were making life a hell on Earth for actual Jews. These were people who would call Jews “Christ-killers” (and, incidentally, these are some of the same people who pooh-poohed the Jewish objections to Gibson’s little Christian torture-porn flick, “The Passion of the Christ”—which itself was largely based on a blatantly anti-Semitic retelling of the Passion narrative) and openly promoted anti-Semitic behavior to the point where Jews faced open discrimination; the fact that Jews worked with the African-American community during the Civil Rights movement didn’t exactly endear them with, um, certain, communities (especially in the South).

Then, of course, there is the fact that Arabs (including the Muslim ones) are also Semites. But why let a little education get in the way of a right-wing Islamophobic rant dealing with a SCHOOL textbook?

It’s funny that “the Real Teabagger” says “when we started the Teabagging movement* in 2007,” he fails to mention that his little movement didn’t seem to make any significant impact on the American consciousness until the Spring of 2009. Where was his group during the GOP primaries in 2008? All the major races produced pretty moderate conservative GOPers (not even Sarah Palin—the Teabagger Goddess—made much mention of any type of tea until the Spring of 2009) and there wasn’t any “Teabagging Caucus” in Congress until the Spring of 2009.

*Not to be confused with a bowel movement—although both do produce similar results.

Instead, O’Reilly mocked Brokaw by saying, “Hey, Tom, did you ever hear of Hiroshima? Nagasaki? Dresden? Alright? How about that Tom!”

I’m sure Tom’s heard of all three. He’d also be ready to point out that, in ALL three cases, actual military personnel FLEW THOSE MISSIONS, putting their own lives at risk from anti-aircraft weapons on the ground, as well as enemy aircraft.

And I’m sure that Tom would also point out that all three incidents have come under a great deal of criticism as having been little different in scope than the crimes for which German and Japanese military officials were tried following WWII. Yes, yes, historians have made some distinctions but historians who work from an ethical perspective (granted, that IS a phrase with which FoxNoise folks would be unfamiliar) tend to not see a difference in the mass slaughter of innocent German and Japanese civilians at the hands of Allied weapons of mass destruction and the mass slaughter of innocent European and Asian populations at the hands of Axis weapons of mass destruction.

After all, since the Church’s prominent Bishops and Archbishops and Cardinals all want to force Catholic views on the American people by coercive tactics (such as denying Communion to pro-choice politicians and donating vast sums of money to anti-gay groups and political measures), the Church should be treated just as we did with the Soviet Union during the Cold War by “eavesdropping” on their ambassadors and consuls and “registered agents.” If the Vatican wants to use its clergy as de facto representatives of its political and social policies, then that clergy need to be treated with the same “respect” we gave to Soviet agents (both the officially recognized KGB agents doing their typical spying as well as the “unofficial” agents that fooled pretty much everyone but the longtime CIA and FBI people).

@ AAP: Carolla’s trying his best to have his proverbial cake and eat it at the same time. By complaining that “the media” didn’t cover the explosion, he conveniently ignores the FACT that HIS bosses offered as little coverage (if not actually less) of the explosion. At the same time, his bosses—as others have pointed out—deliberately want to avoid much coverage of the explosion since it might point out to even the dumbest of the mouth-breathing FoxNoise viewers that the very things that led to the Texas disaster are the very same things that FoxNews and its talking head contributors (both the paid regulars and the paid “guests”) spend so much time promoting.

But any effort to tarnish the “liberal” media for its failings (even though FoxNoise shares the same failings) is grade-A prime for FoxNoise.

I’m curious as to why the FoxNoise kkkrew are so eager to call out “Saudi” NOW when they were so willing to ignore the Saudi connection to 9/11? Rondal, you need to go back and fucking read the Constitution, specifically the 14th Amendment (one of those passed following the UNsuccessful effort at secession on the part of 11 Southern states).

Here’s the relevant portion which North Carolina’s attempt violates:

“1. All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.”

Note that second sentence (which I bolded for you). North Carolina’s effort violates that section. By attempting to establish a state religion, it violates MY right to be free from YOUR religion.

Also, you need to acquaint yourself with Jefferson’s letters from and to the Danbury Baptist Association (the letters which introduced the phrase “separation of church and state” to the political lexicon). The letters were written by a Baptist group which felt the State of Connecticut did not have a right to use Baptist tax monies to fund the State’s established (as in “official state”) Congregational church. Jefferson agreed with the sentiment. Unfortunately, because—at THAT time—the Constitution did not necessarily trump State Constitutions, so Jefferson could only offer moral support. As the states (especially in the North, where European immigrants—who weren’t all Protestant—were arriving in large numbers) began to realize that the idea of a “state church” did tend to cause problems for the “new Americans” whose religious attitudes weren’t quite the same as the “old Americans”; therefore, they began disentangling the state apparatus from the church apparatus.

Considering O’Reilly’s gone on record as declaring this to be “an act of war,” I wonder how he’s going to feel if it turns out to be some right-wing nutcase protesting the IRS?

Now, granted, I don’t remember if O’Reilly and his shit-flinging lunatic brigade described Tim McVeigh’s operation as “an act of war” or Eric Rudolph’s little spree as “an act of war” but somehow I don’t think right-wing terrorist actions qualify as “acts of war” to the FoxNoise lunatics.
