O’Reilly Explains Why Hispanics Vote Democratic: The “Party Is Gonna Give ‘Em Stuff”

Posted by Ellen -7859.80pc on April 16, 2013 · Flag

Bill O’Reilly had a fascinating discussion with Republican Congressman Steve King that clearly revealed the rift in the Republican Party over immigration and outreach to minorities. But one thing they were in synch about was their disdain for Hispanics which was made crystal clear, whether they realized it or not.

The discussion was recorded yesterday, so O’Reilly did not have the chance to address how King has since used the Boston bombings to justify opposing immigration reform. But King was already against it when he visited The O’Reilly Factor and O’Reilly tried to persuade him that it’s time for the GOP to “bend.” He added, “Every single poll shows 75% of the Hispanic voters are leaning Democrats because of this issue. Every poll says that!”

King argued that up to 81% of Hispanics “want more government, more taxes, more government services. That’s not (what) we’re selling. We’re selling the rule of law, individual responsibility and equal opportunity. So I don’t think that Republicans can gain an electorate by simply sacrificing the rule of law in order to start a conversation when that topic of immigration is last on a list of six among Hispanics voters in the country today.”

In other words, King thinks the majority of Hispanics are a bunch of takers who want government handouts instead of taking individual responsibility and looking to follow the rule of law. But instead of challenging King’s obvious bigotry, O’Reilly revealed his like-mindedness.

Well, it may be last but the perception is that the Democratic party is gonna give ‘em stuff and is gonna be more lenient on the border. Therefore, you gotta start to win hearts and minds.

In other words, O’Reilly thinks the GOP should reach out to the moochers because it's politically expedient.

Good luck with that, guys!

@joseph West: last I heard, the children of those Hispanics are actually not voting as their elders do.

Hmm…Billy says the Democrats will give Hispanics “free stuff.” Correct us if we are wrong, but a few weeks ago, Billy was concerned about his mother’s social security benefits. If Billy’s mother was getting free stuff, you wouldn’t hear a peep out of him.

@ truman: I believe that 20% of Hispanics who vote for the GOP live in South Florida where all that matters is “Castro evil blahblahblah free Cuba blahblahblah.”

Rep. King is the perfect Goober for Junior’s Archie Bunker audience. Ratings come first right Junior?

“Latino bashing” now that is a sure and novel way of gaining support for your Party.

Still seething from last year’s election, are we Bill? So what’s causing this latest flashback? When do you begin your in depth rant on why southern white males who like waving the Confederate Flag overwhelming vote Republican?

For the sake of your health Bill I would like to suggest to you that you get Ablow job…get you minds out of the gutter everyone, I’m talking about Fox News very own Dr. Ablow. Perhaps you’ll be eligible for an employee discount.

Steve King is in that class of legislators that are an embarrassment to this country. They only think narrower than his world view is the slice of “Americans” that he represents. I’m sure that after this segment the Hispanics are going to flock to the Republican party!

After watching these two old white guys bloviate, I wonder how the GOPiggies even get 20 percent of the Hispanic vote.

So BOR thinks that if the GOP would just get on board with immigration reform, the Hispanic voters will simply overlook all his (and other conservative yappers’) derogatory insinuations that they are lazy moochers who only vote for Dems because they want free stuff? Geez.

It’s always rather entertaining when BOR tries to save the GOP from themselves — only to reveal his own inner bigotry and right-wing partisanship. If BOR wants to win the hearts and minds of the Hispanic voters, one would think that by now he’d have enough sense to realize that his repeated “lazy takers vs. hard-workin’ makers” whine is part of his and the GOP’s problem. Clearly BOR learned nothing from Romney’s 47% fiasco. But, that’s okay – keep it up, BOR and FOX “news”, it will be fun watching your team blow it again.

This, after the GOP acknowledged that they need to attract Hispanics in order to win national elections? As Ellen said, Good luck with that.

“Bash’em to make ’em toe the line.”

Not exactly what I’d expect as part of a strategy for winning hearts and minds. But, oh so Republican!

So — I guess its safe to say you GOP guys are done with that whole “Hispanic-y out-y reach-y” thing, right Steve?

Wonder what Marco Rubio thinks about that . . .

O'Reilly argued for trying to win the "hearts and minds" of Hispanics at the same time that he described them as moochers!
