Just a bit more evidence the GOPers can use to show that all you need to do to become a multi-millionaire is just work hard.
Oh, wait. What is it that O’Reilly and Hannity do to make their money? Sit around and read off a teleprompter? Nothing that requires any physical activity or risky actions?
To quote the great scholar, Emily Litella, “Oh, I see. Well, then. Never mind.”

@mj: I’m guessing that Nikki Haley won’t win re-election as governor in 2014, considering how many South Carolinians (even the GOP variety) are ticked off at her. She’s supposedly part of the Tea Party, but she endorsed Romney during the primary (who lost to Gingrich). Then, there was the sudden change by SC’s Dept of Health and Environmental Concerns to grant the necessary permits for Savannah, Georgia, to dredge its port and Haley’s alleged fundraising IN GEORGIA for a possible re-election campaign (Charleston, SC, is competing with Savannah over jobs that are expected to result from a widening of the Panama Canal). And she’s been targeted for the firing of an economic development recruiter (she’s tried blaming a couple of members of her cabinet but she’s also stonewalled requests for information under FOIA).
Yeah, she’s got that Palinesque quality but I doubt she’s got enough to win over GOPers in the Midwest or Far West—not even really sure she could help Romney with his GOP deficit in the South. (In his wins in Ohio, Illinois, Michigan and Wisconsin, Romney’s largely won in areas that should go to the Dems in the general election while Santorum won the more conservative GOP-oriented counties. In the South, Romney’s only won in Florida and Virginia; Florida is only tangentially a “Southern” state and he only won Virgina because it was only Romney and Ron Paul in the race—with Gingrich and Santorum in the race, Romney might have lost.)

I guess Mr Gutfeld doesn’t keep up with news stories and hospital records of people (mostly elderly, like a significant portion of FoxNoise’s viewership—although, probably not as financially well-off) who DIE every year during extreme heat waves because they can’t pay for air conditioning. Or stories of homeless people (of course, these people don’t exist for the heartless b-tards at FoxNoise) who seek refuge in libraries during the summer or the stories of air-conditioned community shelters which open to the elderly seeking relief from the heat probably don’t make it to the FoxNoise teletypes.

Also, did Ann talk about having to disappoint the kids with a smaller-than-expected Christmas because Dad didn’t get the Christmas bonus he expected? Did Ann talk about having to go to the Food Stamp office because Mitt found himself out-of-work for months on end? Did Ann talk about having to go with the “generic Frankenberry”* because they couldn’t afford the name brand or did she have to choose “ground meat” instead of ground sirloin? Did Ann talk about having to hold off buying new clothes for herself so that the kids could get some new clothes? (For that matter, did she talk about having to buy her clothes, and her kids’ clothes, at the local thrift shop instead of going to Penney’s or Sears? Frankly, I’d be surprised if Ann Romney’d ever set foot in either Penney’s or Sears.)
I honestly don’t think that Ann has the slightest idea of what it’s like to be a “middle-class stay-at-home” mom where choices like that HAVE to be made. When even middle-class working moms face a life where the preceding paragraph is part of a typical day, it’s really tough for anyone (other than the GOP, the FoxNoise bobbleheads and their batch of gullible followers that is) to sympathize with poor Ann Romney’s “struggle” as a “stay-at-home” mom.

On another site, someone made a comment about how Ann and Mitt lived in a cheap, basement apartment while they were in college and raising their first child. And I thought, “But it’s not like they were in a situation where—if things should somehow go south—they didn’t have a lifeline. Mitt’s daddy was a millionaire and, I’m sure, he wouldn’t have just stood idly by and forced Mitt and Ann to struggle if, for instance, the baby had to be hospitalized or their apartment caught fire.”
THAT type of living is just a bit different from what the children of NON-millionaires have to do when THEY, through no fault of their own, get into some desperate financial straits.
I’d be further willing to bet that Ann didn’t do ALL the child-rearing and housekeeping ON HER OWN. (Of course, Ann’s not going to admit to that—especially after her outrage at being criticized for being a “stay-at-home mom”—and I strongly doubt that any of the Romney kids would admit that mom had some “help” while taking care of them.) BUT, even if she actually DID do all the traditional “stay-at-home” duties, she still doesn’t have any experience with the economic realities of the overwhelming majority of “stay-at-home” moms. It’s so funny that the GOP rarely hesitates to criticize working moms (those who work outside the home for a paycheck), and even moreso SINGLE working moms, but let a “stay-at-home” mom who’s married to a multimillionaire be criticized for not understanding the harsh economic realities faced by MOST “stay-at-home” moms and the GOP goes out of their collective mind.

I mean, is he afraid his comments won’t be posted if he uses the n-word in full when his screen name screams it to the world?

Morris enthused that Tebow is “on a mission” and that he would love to see those from other religions and no religion “standing up for what they believe is for the good of society” because “there’s no reason to be afraid of your values.”
Yeah, because FoxNoise is so welcoming of those “from other religions and no religion” who “stand up for what they believe is for the good of society.” Remind me again of FoxNoise’s stance when atheists try to remove Ten Commandments monuments or statues of Jeebus from public property. I don’t think that “love” is the word that immediately comes to mind.
Or what of the Muslims who “stood up” for what “they believed was for the good of society” when they do silly things like apply for permits to build mosques in rural Tennessee or downtown Manhattan? I don’t recall much FoxNoise “love” being shown for these folks who were displaying THEIR “values.”
I guess what Sr—I mean, Fr—Morris means by “values” is “values that coincide with good Christian, preferably Roman Catholic, values.” None others need apply. (By the way, Fr PowerBottom, maybe you could understand that same-sex couples stood up for THEIR values—values of love and family—yet you and your masters* didn’t really express much “love” when they displayed their values.)

When is someone going to demand that Ablow’s medical license be pulled for his gross unprofessional conduct?
It’s one thing for a psychiatrist to be brought in by the police for advice and profiling but everything that’s done there is understood to be a professional OPINION (and even when asked to be a witness in court, it’s understood that his “testimony” is only a professional opinion—an opinion that can be challenged by the “other side”) but Ablow is NOT being asked for help in a criminal case. What he’s doing violates professional medical guidelines and he should have his license revoked and his ability to practice psychiatry barred until he provides evidence that he’s taken additional classes in medical ethics.

Granted, one presumes this would be a consensual transaction in private but that’s never stopped the police from arresting men and women during prostitution stings. (I think there’s footage of that Colorado former sheriff who was trading drugs for sex—ostensibly being done “in private.”)

Maybe the FoxNoise hosts have missed the stories of how people HAVE been trying to get “God” out of the national motto and off our currency for decades. (Incidentally, have they missed the hypocrisy of the evangelicals who claim there’s all sorts of “satanic symbolism” on our paper currency and attempts to get those “symbols” removed yet these folks—especially the televangelist sorts—have no problem gathering as much of the currency as they can get?)
Of course, this is a song that is NOT protected by Congressional or Federal action (unlike the motto on the currency or the Pledge of Allegiance*—as an aside, it was a Federal action that inserted God into the Pledge; the original Pledge makes NO mention of any deity). And even if it were protected by some type of Federal or even state protection, it wouldn’t prevent the song’s being altered for performances. Singers and musicians have been altering songs for decades (take a look at George Harrison’s “My Sweet Lord”—many Christian singers have omitted either the entire “Halleluja/hare Krishna” chorus or simply the “hare Krishnas”; Billy Preston, who actually recorded the song first, did the latter—the backing chorus simply sings “Hallelujah”) and radio stations have been editing songs or forcing edits for various reasons (Naughty by Nature’s “Humpty Dance” lost the reference to Burger King; George Michael’s “I Want Your Sex” was edited for some stations changing the word “sex” to “love”; Peter Frampton’s “Do You Feel Like We Do,” released as a single from his “Frampton Comes Alive” album was cut from the album’s 14-minute long version to a 7-minute long version single version—and even that was subject to cuts by AM radio stations). Hell, I remember when radio stations might have a couple of minutes to fill before they went to their news breaks so, rather than playing a song with vocals and cutting off in mid-play, they just put on an instrumental song as filler (none of this fitting the news to the available time or starting early or a bit late; the news came on 5 minutes before the hour, regardless of the song, and instrumentals were less likely to receive calls from listeners upset that their “favorite song” had been cut off).

Antoinette, that’s typical of the entire right-wing noise machine. Ann Coulter has been one of the biggest hypocrites. Whenever it has a new book to promote, it never hesitates to get itself booked on the mainstream talkshows (like “Today” and “Good Morning America”—no, I don’t consider either program to be a “news” show; 5 minutes of news followed by 25 minutes of “entertainment” is a talkshow). The rest of the time, it’s whining about how the “mainstream media” is so hateful and does nothing but promote evil liberal ideas—which, naturally, begs the question: If it hates the mainstream media, why does it want to get booked on those shows?
(The use of “it” was deliberate. Until I see Ann Coulter’s longform birth certificate, I’m not convinced that Ann is female. I don’t care how many men have had sex with Ann—and are actually willing to admit to it—I’m not convinced that Ann isn’t a real-life Hedwig, of the “Angry Inch” fame. For those who’ve seen that movie, John Cameron Mitchell looks more like a real woman in the film than Ann Coutler does in real life. I’ll describe each contestant on every season of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” with female pronouns with no problem but Ann Coulter is less female than even the newbiest of drag queens.)

I’m sorry, but doesn’t this woman have a Down’s baby to be caring for? Most mothers of Down’s children struggle trying to care for their children and making a living, but Gov Quitter seems to be spending an inordinate amount of her time away from home and without that precious little bundle whom she didn’t mind exploiting at every turn in 2008. (Oh wait a minute. She’s now well able to afford a live-in nanny—or, at least, as live-in as she’s willing to let one be, given Todd’s little reputation for the wandering eye, and more—so she probably doesn’t have to worry about little Trig as much as she might have done if McCain hadn’t lost his mind and picked the brain-dead moose. All apologies to any other moose who may be offended at being compared to Palin.)

Not wanting to give any more hits to a nutcase website, I didn’t go to the “godfather” to read any more details so could someone tell me when Clinton was supposed to have contemplated going public with “the truth?” If this was back during the 2008 primary season, wouldn’t it have made more sense for Obama’s people to go directly after Hillary, instead of prolonging that particular battle? Hillary had already said (in the very early days of the campaign) that she would support whoever the Dem nominee was, and I believe that Bill had also promised to campaign for the Dem nominee if asked.
If the Obama people pulled this after the 2008 convention, what did Obama stand to gain? The Clintons had already made public their intentions to campaign through the fall for the Democratic nominee AND those down-ballot Dems.
Furthermore, Hillary had already ripped David Shuster a brand-new bunghole after his mere COMMENT about her “pimping” Chelsea. Does anyone think, if she thought Chelsea was in any sort of physical danger, that Hillary would sit back and do nothing? (After all, according to the right-wing conspiracy theorists, Hillary was behind Vince Foster’s suicide. I can’t imagine that such a woman would sit idly by and allow her daughter’s life to be put at risk. The last thing anyone would want to do is piss off Hillary Clinton. It’s stupidity like this that makes me wish for functional time machines. Every single one of these professional Christian “victims” who wail about how they’re being so persecuted needs to be dumped in a time machine set for, oh let’s say, about AD180 in the marvelous city of Rome.
Or we could segregate the Catholics from the Evangelical Protestants and send the Protestants for a little vacation at Club Spanish Inquisition or Club Huguenot. The Catholics could spend their vacation time at a picturesque little German or Swiss village (of course, one that’s controlled by Protestant zealots—during the Thirty Years’ War, whole communities of Catholics and Protestants were forced to flee or face extermination for being on the “wrong” side).
Or we could send these folks back to the Plymouth Colony and let them see for themselves just how “welcoming” the Puritans were for people who had differing perspectives on Christianity.
Then—just before any of these folks actually get killed—we bring them back to the present and ask them, “So, do you REALLY think modern American Christians are being persecuted?” Only the true d-bags would stick to their “woe is us—we’re so persecuted” shtick. (Of course, that probably means that the whole FoxNoise crowd would still maintain how badly treated they are. For them, we could send them on a one-way trip with the time machine.)

Anyone who thinks that Dolan has a serious chance of becoming Pope needs to get off whatever drugs they’re using. (Especially since, according to the “Prophecy of the Popes,” the NEXT Pope will be the FINAL Pope—and the Prophecy declares him to be “Petrus Romanus,” or “Peter the Roman.” Somehow the AMERICAN Cardinal Dolan doesn’t strike me as being very “Roman.”)
A bit more interesting is that, following John Paul II’s death, there was a lot of speculation that his successor would likely be from Latin America or even Africa. And I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised that there will be a greater push to see that Benedict XVI’s successor be from the “Third World” over yet another “European” face. (The fact that two non-Italians in a row were elected Pope already suggests that Italians may have lost the Papacy for good but I also think there’s going to be a great deal of resistance to the idea of there ever being a USAer running the show at the Vatican—no matter how much of a Middle Ages throwback he might be.)
