Mitt Romney has hired an advisor to help him choose a Republican vice presidential candidate - and Fox & Friends wants to know "Who should we choose?"
Earlier today, the Fox & Friends show tweeted:
Apparently, the Fox & Friends show is willing to admit what others on Fox will not: That Fox News IS the communications arm of the GOP. (H/T Think Progress)

@mj: I’m guessing that Nikki Haley won’t win re-election as governor in 2014, considering how many South Carolinians (even the GOP variety) are ticked off at her. She’s supposedly part of the Tea Party, but she endorsed Romney during the primary (who lost to Gingrich). Then, there was the sudden change by SC’s Dept of Health and Environmental Concerns to grant the necessary permits for Savannah, Georgia, to dredge its port and Haley’s alleged fundraising IN GEORGIA for a possible re-election campaign (Charleston, SC, is competing with Savannah over jobs that are expected to result from a widening of the Panama Canal). And she’s been targeted for the firing of an economic development recruiter (she’s tried blaming a couple of members of her cabinet but she’s also stonewalled requests for information under FOIA).
Yeah, she’s got that Palinesque quality but I doubt she’s got enough to win over GOPers in the Midwest or Far West—not even really sure she could help Romney with his GOP deficit in the South. (In his wins in Ohio, Illinois, Michigan and Wisconsin, Romney’s largely won in areas that should go to the Dems in the general election while Santorum won the more conservative GOP-oriented counties. In the South, Romney’s only won in Florida and Virginia; Florida is only tangentially a “Southern” state and he only won Virgina because it was only Romney and Ron Paul in the race—with Gingrich and Santorum in the race, Romney might have lost.)

@mlp: No, I don’t think that Ros-Lehtinen will work. After all, she’s a member of the LGBT Equality Caucus (a founder of the group, in fact). Also, she was one of only 15 House GOPers to vote to repeal DADT and she’s a sponsor of the Respect for Marriage Act (which would repeal Bob Barr’s DOMA).
She also sponsored the reauthorization of VAWA and she supports continued funding for Head Start. Obviously, with that track record, she’s going to be too “liberal” for the teabagging element of the GOP (that’s already not entirely thrilled with Mittens).
Then, there’s the matter that she’s NOT a “natural-born citizen.” As she states on HER website, “I was born in Havana, Cuba on July 1952.” If the “birthers” can’t accept Obama’s birth certificate as legitimate, they certainly can’t accept a VP candidate who openly acknowledges her birth on foreign soil to two Cuban citizens.

Fox & Friends wants to know “Who should we choose?”
Nikki Haley. She’s everything the GOP is looking for
- Female
- governor of a Red State [SC]
- not Hispanic, but has brown skin [of Sikh Indian descent]
- spotty gubenatorial record
- allegations of both tax fraud and non-reporting of campaign contributions
- wrote a memoir described as “fiction” by both democrats and republicans
- may not last her term
Just like the last GOP Vice Presidential candidate. It’ll be like old times!

Find a psychic who can talk to the dead and see if Reagan is interested. Fox Nation will love it.

I’m surprised they didn’t just look up which regular is the most popular and force them on us… then again, I doubt Nugent’s in a place to run, being investigated by the Secret Service and all.
Who’s #2? Trump? Palin? Santorum?
No wonder they’re asking for other choices.

Apparently, Fox & Friends can't even conceive of someone voting Democratic.

Can’t think of a single Hispanic woman Republican. May as well go with Palin.
