Dan O’Keefe is the former Seinfeld writer whose family’s Festivus tradition was immortalized in one of the show’s episodes. O’Keefe says he didn’t know about the Fox News freakouts over Festivus displays that have become the symbol of secular pushback against religious ones. But now that he does, he’s got a few things to say.

Bill O'Reilly is a devout Catholic who, as a soldier of Christ, never wastes an opportunity to disparage atheists who publicly advocate for their positions. He loves to insult Richard Dawkins because Bill, like the inquisitors of old, believes that anybody who doesn't believe as he does is a filthy heretic. And because he believes in a Jesus-centric Christmas, he wages an annual crusade (jihad?) to protect Christmas from those evil atheists who hate the baby Jesus. But being so devout and all, you'd think that he would be confident in his faith. Yet the Holy Ghost inspired Bill is very disturbed by "fascist" atheists who are trying to ruin his Christmas which, this year, is embodied in a atheist sponsored Times Square sign which says that you don't need Jesus to enjoy Christmas. For Bill, who waged a TV crusade (jihad?) against an abortion doctor which contributed to a climate of hate in which the doctor was murdered, this NY City sign is "mean." Awww...

Judging from The O’Reilly Factor discussion-turned-shoutfest last night between a Republican establishment member and a Tea Party member, the GOP civil war will not be ending any time soon.

Megyn Kelly addressed the firestorm that erupted after she assured her viewers that both Santa and Jesus were white. But other than listening with grace and dignity to an African American guest explain what was offensive, I don’t think Kelly did herself any favors with her defense tonight.

In addition to being the place where Islam is smeared "with impunity," Fox News also has a history of race baiting. While the after the 2012 election, the GOP talked about reaching out to minorities, Fox News talkers validated the right wing narrative of white makers vs. lazy, minority takers. But recently, on Fox, there has been a more insidious level of race baiting which was articulated in Megyn Kelly's infamous statement, as Fox Fact, that Jesus (as well as Santa) is white - a view which suggests that Fox is playing to the darkest and ugliest reaches of the radical white right. But what makes this even more unsavory is that Kelly is being defended by white supremacists. Forget the religious right - is Fox News the "Aryan" nation newsroom?

Earlier this week, Megyn Kelly appeared on The Tonight Show where she told a credulous Jay Leno that she’s a “straight news anchor” who gives “a hard time to both sides.” She later said, “I don’t care about pandering to the left or the right. I care about protecting my audience.”

Yesterday, Fox & Friends' Brian Kilmeade taunted and mocked the sham sign-language interpreter at Nelson Mandela’s memorial service. Ironically, FoxNews.com reported that NBC’s Today show offended the hearing-impaired community when one of its producers did something similar.

No sooner had Jon Stewart finished mining comedic gold from Megyn Kelly’s declarations that both Santa Claus and Jesus were white, than Stephen Colbert took his own satiric shots. Laughter ensues!

Megyn Kelly and her "white Santa" and "white Jesus" got their comedic just desserts last night. Plus a nice side dish of skewering for Gretchen Carlson and Monica Crowley. Yes, it's a happy holiday thanks to Jon Stewart and The Daily Show!

Fox News is, predictably, thrilled that President Obama’s “If you like your health care plan, you can keep it” has been named PolitiFact’s Lie of The Year today. Think that will put a dent in their “the liberal media is in the tank for Obama?” meme? Nah, me neither.
