Earlier this week, Megyn Kelly appeared on The Tonight Show where she told a credulous Jay Leno that she’s a “straight news anchor” who gives “a hard time to both sides.” She later said, “I don’t care about pandering to the left or the right. I care about protecting my audience.”

Given her recent comments assuring the “children” watching her show that Santa Claus and Jesus are white, you have to wonder what she thinks she’s protecting them from.

As we have previously posted, Kelly interrupted a discussion - in which she was supposedly sympathetic to an African American woman’s sentiments that Santa should no longer be white – in order to assure the children watching at almost 10PM ET that both Santa and Jesus are, in fact white:

And by the way, for all you kids watching at home, Santa just is white but this person just arguing that maybe we should also have a black Santa but Santa is what he is. Just so you know, we’re just debating this because someone wrote about it, kids. OK, wanted to get that straight.

...I mean, Jesus was a white man, too. He was a historical figure and that’s verifiable fact, as is Santa - I just want the kids watching to know that.

Even though, as Jon Stewart masterfully demonstrated, that’s not quite true.

Yet, Kelly has been somewhat less fervent about truth telling when it comes to the series of fake ObamaCare victims she has paraded before her viewers. Kelly was also curiously unconcerned about protecting her audience from the shortcomings of her "whistleblower" whose inflammatory accusations of racial bias against the Obama Department of Justice have been discredited.

So you have to ask, just who – or what - is this “straight news anchor” so dedicated to protecting?
