I truly appreciate Mr. Kelley coming here to rationally discuss his intent. And after reading the discussion, I don’t think that his intent was precisely what was communicated on Fox. Fox once again showed it’s propensity to use ANY opportunity to promote its own agenda of fear that Obama is coming for their guns, god and flags.
As a VN vet, I sometimes tire of the mad rush for many of this country to find or sometimes create heroes to honor. But I will relate a little story that I’m especially reminded of today. Here in my small conservative, Tea-billy town, the Boy Scouts have a program that for a small donation, will erect and display an American flag on the lawn of veterans on each national holiday. Yeah, I know that my wife paid for the ‘honor’, but I will admit….as I was cutting the lawn today, it felt pretty good each time I passed that flag on the tractor. Mr. Kelley, maybe I and others here understand your crusade a little better than you realize.

Well, Robert, I think we need to go back to what the criteria for ‘decent’ and ‘honorable’ are. As a vet, I looked for McCain to be at least one of the above, and seriously considered him as a viable candidate. However, to me, ‘Selling out’ for whatever reason is just not acceptable. McCain deserved his beating in 2008. And anyone who believes that the path to world peace demands war as a first response deserves ignominy.

Uhhhh…..sorry again, but ‘decency’ should not be a trait of convenience. Sometimes it takes a bit of courage to do the decent thing…..just because someone acts in a decent or honorable manner when it is convenient or advantageous, does not earn that person ‘decent’ or ‘honorable’ status. In Mitt’s case, he is just as likely to act dishonorable when his ass is on the line. His ‘ass’ is the only ass he’s concerned about….

But where’s the outrage? Too many of our fine, upstanding politicians are afraid to take a stand on this issue….at least until they know what is in the book.
But, whatever is in the book should have no bearing on ‘right or wrong’. What Fox did is horribly wrong, and exceedingly dangerous. If they get away with this, welcome to the ‘slippery slope’ angle getting even steeper. But the truth is, they will….and nobody will stop them.

1. It was very wrong for this guy to write this book.

2. From the Fox reaction, I suspect that this guy’s account says nothing bad about Obama. If it was critical of the president, they’d be treating him as a hero.

3. Cue the claims that Obama paid this guy to ‘out’ the operation.

Unfortunately, although we laugh at this stuff, it DOES have an effect. Last week I had a friend that I had previously thought of as ‘reasonable’ confide in me that Obama already had a plan in place to use NATO to take away all guns from US citizens.
