So, what about women who’ve been divorced and then get remarried? Virginity isn’t something that can be replaced or repaired.
I’d also like to get Mrs Crowder’s uncensored and completely impromptu version of the wedding night. Most guys are NOT really all that good their “first time”—sex really is one of those “practice makes perfect” subjects. Most guys overrate their sexual performance, especially their first time. They figure—“I got it in and I got off; I’m a stud.” Then, they confirm it by asking the woman how it was for her. Most women will lie because they know how fragile the male ego is (but in her mind, she’s thinking, “Is that all there is? Where were the skyrockets? Where was the earth-shattering kaboom? There was supposed to be an earth-shattering kaboom!* He barely got in before he’s grunting and rolling over and asking how I liked it. What a schlub. And I waited for that? Now I get all those jokes from ‘Married with Children.’ Now, I guess I’d better figure out what Peggy needed batteries for. Oh, he’s looking like he needs an answer. I guess I’d better tell him he was fantastic. Of course, he won’t consider that, as a virgin, I have no real guideline to go by.”) Incidentally, did Mr Crowder do the old traditional thing and “check the bedsheet” for that “proof of virginity?” (That’s a reference to olden days—especially in a lot of orthodox religious traditions—when the bride’s virginity was proven by the appearance of blood on the sheets. After the couple finished, the bride’s parents—frequently the father—would rush in and get the sheets and, if a spot of blood was found, proudly display that as proof his daughter was a virgin.)
And, of course, he’s just called mAnn Coulter a “floozy.” (I just wonder if anyone’s brought this new info to mAnn’s attention?)
*The previous fictitious thoughts by Mrs Crowder come to you courtesy of the legendary Peggy Lee, Bobby’s first kiss on “The Brady Bunch” and Marvin the Martian.

And count “Jim Frankland” among the FoxNoise zombie sheep.
I’m sorry, but would you please refresh our memories about the “tough questions” the press asked of Dubya during his 2004 campaign? I can’t recall ANYTHING “tough” that was asked of Dubya. If anything the press was more softball towards Dubya (at least until AFTER Katrina) than it’s been at any time in US history, and completely unquestioning in 2004.
As far as being kicked out of press conferences, you’ve obviously forgotten how Dubya handled HIS press conferences. Take a softball question from James Guckert (aka porn star Jeff Gannon), ignore the REAL members of the press, then answer another question from the FoxNoise crew or other members of the right-wing noise machine.
And you might want to check all the “hard” questions being asked of Romney. Anything he wants to answer (without being challenged) comes from the right-wing noise machine (led by FoxNoise. Anything asked by ANYONE else is answered with nothing but obfuscation and, when he’s challenged on what nonsensical shit he does say, he simply ignores the challenge.

When Johnson said that the standards for probation violation aren’t the same as those for a criminal trial, Kelly, screeched that probation is no big whoop and “you don’t get locked away.”
-———-
Just gotta wonder what the FoxNoise reaction would be to a “person of color” who violated his probation? Or a “sex offender”?
Let’s just use the latter, as an example. Let’s say that the guy had made probation, but—as a part of that probation—he was told he could only have limited internet access (acceptable use—to pay bills; unacceptable use—joining the HoneyBooBoo fan club), and that his computer would be checked randomly for any violations. Then, let’s just say that, during one of these random computer checks, it turns out that he’s been catching up on HoneyBooBoo episodes and “Toddlers & Tiaras” and he’s downloaded a lot of innocent pictures of young children he’s not related to from various Facebook pages. Can you just imagine the outrage from the folks at FoxNoise that a “pervert” was even released on probation (especially if the state or local officials were Dems), even though he’d been a model prisoner and had served his time (if I’m not mistaken, states can still impose probation as part of a prisoner’s release even if a full sentence is served—it largely depends on the nature of the offense)?
But, apparently, FoxNoise’s probation violation standard differs, depending on the criminal involved. In FoxNoise’s world, a man who’s on probation after serving time for financial crimes should be able to do whatever he wants even if it violates—or potentially violates—the terms of his probation (though I’ll bet if Kelly had been one of his victims, she’d be screeching a different tune).

Murphy simply needs to put an ad up showing his drunken behavior and then show an image of West. Then, the voiceover comes on with “Yes, I was drunk when this happened. What was my opponent’s excuse for pulling a gun on an unarmed and tied-up prisoner? The US military felt his actions were worthy of a court-martial but West got a chance to resign first. I’ve learned from my mistake; has Mr West? Who exhibits the real values that America represents?”

So, how DO GOPers treat their women based on the example of Ann Romney? Force them out on the campaign trail, even though they have a medical condition that is frequently exacerbated by stress and undue pressure (something that’s all too common on the campaign trail) and expect them them to be “good little wives and do their husbands’ bidding?”
Or, could a better example be Alan Keyes’ daughter? His LESBIAN daughter. The one he cut off completely when she dared come out.
And, perhaps we could inquire exactly how GOPers treat Democratic women while we’re at it. Let’s look at how the GOP treated Hillary when she was First Lady. Accusations of being a lesbian (that is, when she wasn’t busy masterminding the death of Vince Foster—her erstwhile lover, according to the conspiracy theorists). Accusations of trying to be a “Co-President” (most notably by the way she tried to force universal health care on the country). Then, she’s accused of “carpetbagging” when she decides to run for the Senate as a New Yorker (of course, when the GOP got Alan Keyes to move to Illinois to run for the Senate against Barack Obama, that was perfectly acceptable—Keyes had expressed a long-time desire to move to the state, even though he left Illinois not long after that failed Senate run).
And, then, of course, there’s all the loving, lavish praise the GOP gives to Michelle Obama. Oh, wait. I meant all the hatred and sneering. Or the praise lavished on Nancy Pelosi. Oh, wait. Again, I meant all the hatred and spite. Or the praise lavished on Claire McCaskill. Oh, wait. Again, a misstatement—Todd “believer in intelligent vaginas which can distinguish between good sperm and bad sperm” Akin just described Sen McCaskill as “not ladylike.”
Any maltreatment of Dem women by Dems pales in comparison to right-wing/GOP treatment of Dem (or liberal/progressive) women. And the treatment of Dem/liberal/progressive women by right-wing/GOP women is even worse.

Newt Gingrich statements as they apply to Newt Gingrich:
“Calista actually gets up every day thinking about public policy. Newt Gingrich gets up every day thinking about Newt Gingrich—and which woman will be the NEXT Mrs Newt Gingrich.”
“Why is Gingrich fixated on appeasing Catholics while attacking Muslims?”
“Thereâs no evidence that Newt Gingrich wants to have a relationship with anybody except those who are sycophantively his supporters.”
(In fairness to Newt, that last statement could just as easily have “Mitt Romney” in the place of “Newt Gingrich.”)

Okay. I’m not sure which “UN Resolution 1618” (wannabe) Massa Allen’s talking about because the one that I found contains NOTHING about “any statement deemed by the OIC ‘offensive’ to Islam a crime.” (If there is, I certainly didn’t see it.)
(The text can be found at
geneva.usmission.gov/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/Resolution16-18.pdf If anyone else finds anything that supports Massa Allen’s statement, please quote the relevant text. The only places when I’ve searched for anything remotely supporting Massa Allen’s outrageous lie* are right-wing websites whose neutrality leaves much to be desired.)
*Perhaps Massa Allen might want a quick refresher course in the role of the Ten Commandments on Western Civilization—I’m sure any of his teabagging supporters would be able to offer that to him. It’s not merely Massa Allen’s deliberate efforts at Orwellizing the truth but he might want to recall the very First of those Commandments—“Thou shalt have no other gods before me.” That very statement, which the religious right wouldn’t hesitate to impose on this country, is a direct contradiction of the First Amendment (a point that so many of the right-wing sites touting Massa Allen’s statement seem willing to ignore/overlook in their unquestioning support of this country’s “Judeo-Christian founding”).

I have to wonder what kind of drugs Coulter’s using if it thinks that African-Americans would respond favorably to the idea that the Willie Horton ad was âthe greatest political ad in U.S. historyâ when it did play on, as you note Ellen, racial fears—specifically, that “black men who get out of jail will kill more white people.”
Maybe Ann’s memory doesn’t extend more than the last bathroom quickie it was involved in, but I do recall WHY the Horton ad was developed. Not merely to be a “Democrats (in this case, Dukakis) are weak/soft on crime” ad, but to highlight that it was a BLACK man who’d been released.
African-Americans who would appreciate the Horton ad being considered âthe greatest political ad in U.S. history" are ashamed of being African-American (a bit like Clarence Thomas, Herman Cain and Allen West—of course, mainstream African-Americans are ashamed of those men’s being African-American as well, so all’s good).

@Bob Roberts: Maybe we now understand why Ms Kelly isn’t using her law degree, arguing before a court. I seriously doubt that any judge (regardless of ideology) would have much tolerance for her for very long.
I can imagine she’d be facing a lot of “Counselor, if you can’t control yourself, I will hold you in contempt” and “Counselor, I won’t warn you again—stick to asking questions” and “Couselor, stop badgering the witness; either ask a question or sit down” among many other typical “warnings” from the bench.

@bemused: Thank you, much.
I should point out in your earlier comment (apparently it was posted at roughly the same time as my prior one) that the law only prohibits falsely shouting “fire!” (and the size of the crowd is really less important). While it’s far better to contact the theater management if you happen to see a fire starting, you’re actually obligated to weigh the issue—if you think more people would be endangered from the fire before the proper authorities could be contacted, then you have every right (legal AND moral) to shout “fire” but if you believe the fire can be contained long enough for a safe evacuation after contacting the management, then you should contact them first.
You would likely face a hearing but it would be up to the prosecution to prove your shouting was the more dangerous scenario. Fortunately, most of us never have to face this situation. Just bear in mind, you would need to do as you think best in the situation. (It is kind of funny how theaters still advise you to look for the nearest fire exit but they DON’T tell you what you should do IF you see a fire starting.)

I’m still waiting for the GOP to explain why they don’t object to be “redstaters.” Or have they forgotten the old line “better dead than red?”
Yes, I’m aware that the “red state/blue state” thing was started by the dreaded “liberal media” a couple of decades ago. But, somewhat oddly, there was no standardization of the color scheme until 2000. Prior to that, some networks and newspapers/magazines would use blue for the “incumbent” party and “red” for the “opposition” party—which fit in 2000, since a win by Gore would retain the “incumbent” status while a win by Bush would give the White House to the “opposition”; in earlier decades, the GOP would be blue and the Dems were red because of the historic connection to European leftists’ routine usage of red in their standards and banners—red had a long history to “revolution” before the Communist appropriation. Of course, it would be interesting if the flag’s colors had been something other than “red, white and blue.” What if the Founders had chosen the so-called Continental Flag which featured a green pine tree on a white canton with a red fly? Or the Gadsden flag—that one that so many teabaggers adopted, featuring a black coiled rattlesnake on a yellow background?
Rather ironically, the “redstaters” have relished their color.

@John: Um, Newman is NOT wrong. Ms Jean was Canada’s Governor General, a position which is NOT an elective office. Additionally, the Governor General is only the Queen’s (or King’s, depending on the gender of the reigning British monarch) representative and has no more authority than is granted by the Sovereign. (You might consider how little real power the British monarch actually has over the politics of the United Kingdom proper and you’ll understand why the “Head of State” designation is of lesser importance than “Head of Government.” In the US, the President holds BOTH positions. In most other countries with an elected President—Ireland, Italy and Israel, to name three—the President has very little power as those countries’ “Head of State.” In those countries, it’s the “Head of Government”—typically those countries’ Premiers or Prime Ministers—who holds the real power.)
Since NO ONE in Canada went to the polls to elect Ms Jean, Newman’s comment remains quite accurate. Now, when Canadians elect a Black Prime Minister (or, more accurately, elect enough members of one party to form a government and the head of that party becomes Prime Minister as a result), then we can reconsider Mr Newman’s statement.
(On a side note, it’s sort of like the speculation before Matt Smith was announced to be the 11th Doctor. A lot of fans were, for some bizarre reason, rooting for a Black actor to become the new Doctor, as though this was somehow a more important achievement than Britons having their first Black Prime Minister. Admittedly, the majority of the “Black Doctor” advocacy that I read seemed to come from the American fans, largely because of Obama’s election.)

@truman: It wouldn’t matter. If the women married a GOPer, she’d find herself subjected to a pre-1970s mentality when there was no such thing as “marital rape” and a married woman was EXPECTED to endure her husband’s demand for sex regardless of her wants or desires. (In case people have forgotten, until the 1970s, the rape laws in virtually every state did NOT allow a woman to even accuse her husband of committing rape. There was a court case—I can’t remember the name—in the late 70s or very early 80s that finally upheld a wife’s right to “just say no” to her husband and have it mean “no.”)

Perhaps Bachmann and Hannity should take a minute or three and reflect on what country they both live in.
If these two worthless pieces of slag want to cheerlead for Israel, they should move there. Until Israel formally applies for US Statehood, this country’s obligations to Israel should be of no importance when it comes to Presidential elections. (Of course, Israeli aspirations for US statehood would come up against a major roadblock—the GOP insistance on “English-only” while Israel’s official language is Hebrew. Yes, most Israelis are able to converse in English—far more coherently than either Bachmann or Hannity—but they’d prefer visitors to Medinat Yisra’el to converse in Hebrew. Of course, the Arab Israelis speak Arabic as a first language—and Arabic is an official language of Israel.)
