Donald Trump Gives A Campaign Shout Out To The ‘Great People’ At Fox & Friends

While Donald Trump hates on John McCain, Mexicans and now Lindsey Graham, he wants everyone to know he just loves Fox & Friends and its “great” hosts: Brian Kilmeade, Steve Doocy and Elisabeth Hasselbeck.

Yesterday, during a campaign speech in South Carolina, Trump spoke glowingly about the Curvy Couch Crew on Fox & Friends.

It was part of Trump’s attack on Senator Lindsey Graham in which he later gave out Graham’s cell phone number. But first, Trump relayed an anecdote in which he claimed Graham called him up to get “a good reference” on Fox & Friends.

TRUMP: “Mr. Trump, this is Senator Lindsey Graham. I wonder if it would be possible for you to call Fox.” Because you know, until I ran, I had that little thing where I do just for fun, Fox & Friends is so great. Brian, Steve and Elisabeth, they’re great people, right? They’re great! (applause) And he wanted to know whether or not I could give him a good reference on Fox & Friends.

Does any candidate for president give a shout out to members of the media? I’ve never heard of it.

But why shouldn’t he, considering all the love Fox has shown for Trump?

Any news network with a modicum of neutrality would be cringing from such an endorsement by any candidate. But not Fox News! Today, Fox & Friends thanked Trump for the “nice” mention and the commercial.

Watch the segments below for a good glimpse into the symbiosis between Fox News and the GOP, via Media Matters.

What kind of candidate gives a shout out to a news network? And what kind of news network thinks that's a good thing?
