Fox's All-Male Discussion Of Contraception Mandate
A few days ago, Fox & Friends Weekend hosted a discussion about the Obama administration's compromise on the contraception mandate offered to religiously-affiliated institutions. Of course, that wasn't good enough for the Curvy Couch Crew. But what was even more striking was how the discussion was among three men and no women. And when the male guest compared the mandate to food stamps, that was a slur against both.

As a result of the Newtown massacre, there has been a push for stricter gun laws. But attempts to create legislation around prohibitions on assault weapons, background checks for gun shows, limits on ammunition clip sizes, etc. are opposed by the NRA and far right Second Amendment supporters who actually believe that further gun restrictions will lead to nation wide gun seizures by President Obama's jack booted thugs. And rather than focus on the weapons that doing the killing, the right wing seem to be diverting the argument with claims that it's the mentally ill who are doing the killing and if we just lock up all these folks, everything will be hunky dory. Of course these are the same deficit hawk types who have no problem cutting mental health service; but I digress. This morning, Steve Doocy listened raptly as he sat knee to knee with his right wing sensei , Peter Johnson Jr. whose passion for gun rights clearly supersedes concern for the rights of those who are mentally ill who, contrary to Johnson's belief, are not the main offenders!

Ann Coulter visited Hannity last night to offer her “thoughts” on gun control – which, naturally, meant that the 50-ish Coulter let forth with a stream of childish invective. Near the end, she spewed outrage that people would think “we” don’t care about children. Because, you know, she’s such a vision of compassion and caring.
Read moreDr. Keith Ablow Really, Seriously Thinking Of Running For Senate
Although we previously reported that Fox News' crackpot psychiatrist, Dr. Keith Ablow, is considering running for the U.S. Senate in Massachusetts, he has now released a statement about his intentions. And they're just as crazy as many of his other statements.

Bill O’Reilly took an interesting report from the National Journal, “Why Obama Is Giving Up on Right-Leaning Whites,” and ran with it to suggest that Obama is giving up on all but the most radical of whites in order to favor people of color and “give them what they want.” Yup, the way O’Reilly interpreted the article, his worst fears about the 2012 election are coming true.

On Fox & Friends Weekend yesterday, co-hosts Anna Kooiman and Mike Jerrick did their best to help right-wing guest Star Parker discredit Social Security and Medicare as some kind of outdated Ponzi Scheme that saps Americans. Then they helped her showcase her call for privatization.

The newborn Fox News propaganda meme about the horror of sending F-16's to Egypt is alive and kicking. The opposition to the military aid, approved when Mubarek was Egypt's leader, was articulated on Hannity, Justice with Jeanine, America's News HQ and two segments of Fox & Friends. Last week, Michelle Malkin added her sage commentary (just kidding) to Fox's "fair & balanced" (just kidding) presentation of the issue on another Hannity segment that was totally biased (not kidding). It's the same old, same old snarling, snarky stuff from Malkin - but as a case study in wide-eyed histrionic Obama derangement syndrome, it's amusing.
Read moreBill O'Reilly - History Storekeeper!
Bill O'Reilly is quite - ah - diversified. In addition to earning his living peddling personal attacks, propaganda, and lies, he also offers his folks access to selected historical documents such as an original letter from Abraham Lincoln, retailing for a mere $18,500 and a more reasonably priced signed photo of Gerald Ford selling for $495. Those interested in this memorabilia, at Bill's "History Store," should check out other sources before buying Bill's stuff because the same Ford photo is being sold for $325 on another site. Another site has a different Ford pic for only $250.00. And rather than donate the proceeds to charity, it's apparent that ole Bill is pocketing the profit. Anyway, just another fun fact about Bill O'Reilly.
New Faces at Fox News, More of the Same Messages
Fox’s latest Neilsen numbers are its worst since 2001, and in prime time it’s losing ground to MSNBC in that crucial 25-54 age bracket. But if the Fox brass is considering any changes to its modus operandi, you can't tell from some of the recent additions to its stable – particularly Erick Erickson of Red State, and radio host Mark Levin, both of whom are dyed-in-the-wool right wingers.
