Posted by Ellen · September 19, 2014 10:27 PM · 3 reactions

Stephen Colbert was in top form last night. Not only did he magnificently skewer Sean Hannity, but he gave Fox News’ “boots on the ground” obsession just the kind of comedic drubbing it deserves.

Elisabeth Hasselbeck Praises Public School Cheerleaders For Defying Ban On Public, Pre-Game Prayer

The separation of church and state is a judicially supported tenet of our legal system which is based on the "Establishment Clause" of the 1st Amendment. But those who seek to turn this country into a Christian theocracy deny that this separation exists and see any attempt to maintain it as an egregious affront to religious liberty. Elisabeth Hasselbeck is one of those folks who just can't wrap her little head around the fact that the government can't endorse a religion and continues to support public school prayer despite SCOTUS decisions which have ruled against it. This morning, she continued to display her woeful ignorance of the law while advancing the Fox/right wing view that Jesus belongs in public schools. The very Christian Hasselbeck heaped praise upon brave Christian public school cheerleaders who, in defiance of a school order, led the football team and the fans in a solemn version of the Lord's Prayer. Praise Jesus - or is it Roger Ailes?!

Megyn Kelly’s brand of “straight news anchor” was on display again last night as, for the zillionth time, Fox exploited the dangers in the Middle East as a political tool against President Obama. In this case, Kelly suggested that President Obama's decision against "boots on the ground" in Iraq and Syria is setting up our troops to fail in their fight against ISIS.

Snapshot000003-3.png

A new census report found that the marriage rate in the U.S. has reached a 93-year low. But Fox News hosts and amateur sociologists Harris Faulkner and Andrea Tantaros know from Faulkner’s twitter feed that it’s at least partly President Obama’s fault.

Stephen Colbert Mocks Hannity's Defense Of Adrian Peterson

Colbert_Hannity.PNG

If you've watched the Hannity show lately, you've almost certainly seen Sean Hannity defend football player Adrian Peterson by announcing that his own father repeatedly beat him with a belt. Hannity sometimes sounds proud, as if it proves something manly about him. But after Stephen Colbert's hilarious mockery last night, Hannity may not want to boast about those childhood episodes so much.

Megyn Kelly Hits Back At Bill Ayers

Kelly_ayers.png

It looks like Megyn Kelly can’t take what she dishes out. Although she has repeatedly used former 60s radical Bill Ayers as a punching bag and tool to smear Obama and academia, now that he has likened her to "a cyborg" with “very cold eyes,” Kelly spent three minutes of air time tonight swiping at him all over again.

John McCain visited Your World where a discussion about a possible ISIS threat at the southern border turned into a discussion about the national security bona fides of the Republican potential 2016 presidential candidates. In short, McCain seemed unimpressed with all of them, especially Rand Paul’s. So host Neil Cavuto set up questions in a seeming attempt to suggest McCain should run again, himself.

Megyn Kelly Baselessly Helps Suggest Her Muslim Guest Is Aligned With Al Qaeda And ISIS

On Tuesday night, Kelly’s brand of “straight news anchor” was on full display in a discussion she held about one of her (few) favorite people of color, outspoken Islam-hater, Ayaan Hirsi Ali. Last night, Kelly followed up by helping suggest that her Muslim guest “share(s) an ideology with Al Qaeda and ISIS.”

Megyn Kelly Gushes Over Hubby's New Book, Hubby Gushes Over Kelly's 'Great' News 'Instincts'

Fox_Love.jpg

It's not every obscure author who gets to promote his/her new book on national TV. But it's a very different story if they happen to be married to a national "news" anchor. Last year, when Megyn Kelly's husband, former big business biggie Douglas Brunt published his first book, his significant other threw him a Fox News book launch party in the form of an "interview" which devolved into a mutual admiration lovefest. Now that he has published his second book, he has returned to the loving embrace of Fox News where his loving wife is doing her wifely duty in promoting the second in Brunt's oeuvre. As the "Church Lady" would say, "isn't that special."
