Megyn Kelly concluded her trifecta of exploiting Bill Ayers for political purposes last night with a jaw-dropping interview with Lt. Col. Ralph Peters. Although Kelly had only turned up evidence of a lack of connection between President Obama and Bill Ayers, she made no challenge as Peters called Obama an “acolyte” of Ayers and declared he had an “undeniable influence” on Obama. Peters even threw Rev. Jeremiah Wright into the mix. Oh my!
Peters has been a particularly strident critic of Obama lately, so Kelly had every reason in the world to expect a torrent of inflammatory attacks in this interview. One suspects Peters was chosen for just that purpose. He was the fifth guest of the night to comment on Ayers’ interview. All but one, Kirsten Powers, ignored the evidence to join Kelly in using Ayers to smear Obama.
At about 2:35 in the video below, Peters began baselessly conflating Ayers and Obama - and in a particularly incendiary way. Peters called Ayers a “horse’s ass” before saying:
What you see here really is his undeniable influence on President Obama. Not just in Obama’s denial of American exceptionalism, his belief that America’s the problem, not the solution, but specifically in the Bergdahl case.
What’s really undeniable is that Ayers had no influence over Obama in the Bergdahl case. Ayers specifically told Kelly he has had no contact with President Obama since he took office. So Ayers could not have discussed Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl’s disappearance from his Army outpost in June, 2009. If Kelly had any information to the contrary, it's highly doubtful she would have kept it to herself given how actively she worked to fabricate a connection between Obama and Ayers.
But Kelly made no challenge to Peters’ assertion. She sat quietly with her head cocked slightly to the side in a pose of thoughtful listening.
Next, Peters went on to describe Ayers as some kind of hero to Obama:
…Our president, acolyte of Bill Ayers, treated Bergdahl and his family better than he treated any American hero, dead or alive, and their families.
That’s not true, either. But Kelly continued listening quietly, thus continuing to implicitly validate Peters’ attack.
Peters continued by ramping up the rhetoric:
It’s just like sitting in the Rev. Wright’s church. You don’t do it for year after year after year after year and not pick anything up. And oh, by the way? Bill Ayers and Bernadette (sic) Dohrn were not holding fundraisers for Obama because they thought he was a great American.
“Non partisan” Kelly concluded by further validating Peters – while feigning neutrality:
Well, I mean, that’s the question. And I’ve read a lot of Bill Ayers’ discussions about Barack Obama. In every single one, he distances – he wasn’t prepared to discuss that and the full extent of that relationship. So people can draw whatever conclusions they want to draw but I think at least now, the record’s been set straight on who it was – and in whose living room Barack Obama was back in those days and we have a better feeling for that man.
As I wrote in a previous post about Kelly’s post-interview tactics, this was a handy way for her to both advance Fox’s anti-Obama agenda and sensationalize her own interview.
Truth, information and news were obviously not Kelly's priority.
Watch the politicking disguised as analysis below.
How fucking stupid does one have to be to not recognize the exploitation?
If they’re not constantly reminded of what they’re supposed to hate and fear, they won’t remember what they’re supposed to hate and fear.
Re: Megyn Kelly’s hair… I agree, it looks awful. She said on the air that she did it so that she wouldn’t look like everyone else. I did notice that around the same time Gretchen Carlson got her hair cut just like Kelly’s used to be.
However, I’ve been wondering if she isn’t covering up a bald spot or some wound or something.
Yup… they have them fanatics on FNC for sure. Think any real news, like the economic report, etc. will be discussed? Nah!
And of course, as most regulars here know, the most extreme fanatic is Slanthead Hannity, the original Obamaphobe!
This is nothing new for him. He’s been ranting about Obama’s pals Ayers, Dohrn, the Revs. Wright and Pfleger, guru Alinksky, et. al. for years… probably more than nine years. Every day of the week!. For hours on end.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Hannocchio wakes up in the middle of the night, and cries, “Honey, I just had another Obama association nightmare!”
Even now — as Slanthead is laser focused on his mission to the Southwest next week to personally secure Amerika’s border against the hordes who will destroy the best nation on the earth, and the only one personally endorsed by Christ — I’m sure Hannocchio is thinking that Obama’s revolutionary indoctrination from Alinsky and others gave him the idea to let the U.S. be overrun with little brown kids who don’t speak English.
But Hannity got good news yesterday as Gov. Christie vetoed yet another gun control measure (magazine size), so Hannity can depart via Newark airport after stocking up on a dozen more supersized ammo clips for his AR-15s.
