Can we please take up a collection to export Fox News’ Lt. Col. Ralph Peters to Russia? You may recall that last week Peters gushed over “brilliant” and “sharp” Putin who is “pretty close to the mark” in thinking Americans are “fools” and Europeans “whores.” Last night, Peters made his anti-American sentiments more explicit.
It was a typically shallow and salacious Fox News discussion on the crisis in Ukraine: instead of real information and context, it was all about winning and losing, debate and – not the least of it – how much to vilify President Obama and/or Putin.
At about 3:20, Bill O’Reilly envisioned an escalation of tensions in Ukraine between the government and the pro-Russian separatists. He said, “I believe that the Ukrainian government is going to fight to some extent, Colonel Peters. …They’re not going to fold, they’re going to go in and gonna fight these guys. So, that gives Putin an excuse to roll in.” He then asked Peters if the world would just sit by and watch the Russians “slaughter the Ukrainian forces.”
Peters replied:
…(T)he Ukrainians are damned if they do and damned if they don’t. If they do open fire that gives Putin an excuse to go in. If they don’t open fire, Put has already got what he wants. I mean, he is—we’ve watched him as Obama pleads—‘Please, Mr. Putin, please talk, let’s talk, let’s negotiate.’ Putin has first taken over administrative buildings in three cities. Now he is up to 11 cities in major towns. His thugs are all over the place and we’re pretending that somehow negotiations are going to get Putin out. Well they didn’t get him out in Crimea. …I think President Obama really believes—President Obama believes you can negotiate with cancer tumors. He is a fool and a weakling and sanctions could have hurt. Real sanctions.
The other guest, Colonel David Hunt smacked down Peters:
That’s not the issue here. …It’s not about Obama. This is about Putin and his aggression. We are not going to go have a third war on the plains of Europe over this. We’re just not. Again, we don’t have the forces in Europe to counter this. This is a Putin issue.
In reality, this is a serious issue that deserves more consideration than from a prism of “shoot or don’t shoot” and “Who’s up? Who’s down?”
I’m taking the liberty of embedding a clip from today’s Democracy Now that does a terrific job of explaining the situation in Ukraine, complete with context and the very serious potential consequences. It's also critical of President Obama in a way that Roger Ailes would slobber over if he weren’t so fixated on blondes in revealing outfits and irresponsible soundbites.

“If Ailes tripped and fell on his fat behind he would probably blame Obama.”
LOL! Dear Antoinette: If Jabba the Ailes falls on his fat behind it would probably trigger a 7.2 Richter scale earthquake!
;^)
But what sent me over the edge with regards to him is what he said on FOX “news” about one of our soldiers, Bowe Bergdahl, who is being held by the Taliban. He basically said that if Bergdahl left his post, then he’s fine with the Taliban executing him. Unbelievable. FOX “news” shouldn’t be touching this angry little punk with a ten foot pole but, apparently, Peters’ snide, anti-Obama commentary makes even his outrageous, unAmerican call for one of our own to be killed totally worth it.
Peters is nothing more than the typical military ‘lifer’ that simply could not have survived in the real world. Fuck him.
Of course, none of the FoxNoise kkkrew would even think of asking such an “impertinent” question (especially as they know they’d be fired—personally by Ailes—the next day). And, you just know how the FoxNoise “loyalists” would treat any of the “liberal media” who dared ask such a question of Dubya. Until Dubya publicly described Putin as “the new Hitler” (something which would only happen after one of his speechwriters came up with the term), FoxNoise wouldn’t have anything bad to say about Putin. After Dubya put Putin alongside Saddam and Hitler in the “history’s greatest villains” category, FoxNoise would have to hire people to make the necessary changes to all their pro-Putin archival files (shades of “1984”).
Putin loves to get his hands on unpatriotic Americans. Imagine all the secrets fed by him by these treasonous thugs.
Nixon trainee Ailes never was a fan of President Obama. He, and his worthless senior staffers will find anything negative to stick it to Obama. If Ailes tripped and fell on his fat behind he would probably blame Obama.
