Gallup Ranks Fox News Number One (Sort of)
Fox Nation is trumpeting the fact that, according to Gallup, “Fox News is America's top outlet for news.” The Nation reprinted a glowing post from John Nolte at breitbart.com, which reported that 8% of those surveyed in late June said they got their news from Fox; second place is CNN with 7%. In fact, gentle reader, if you look more closely at the Gallup data, Fox appears to be in second place, and “non-specific” ranks first with a much larger 26%.

Recently, actor Levar Burton made some news when he discussed on CNN his fears of being mistreated by the police because of racial profiling and how he has taught his sons to behave if and when they get pulled over. Tonight, Burton appeared on the O’Reilly Factor as a follow up. I believe Bill O’Reilly meant well and intended to have a respectful exchange of perspectives but just like when he gushed over how well behaved the black diners were at Sylvia’s restaurant in Harlem, his clueless arrogance muscled its way through.

On the July 5th Your World, Neil Cavuto opened up a discussion about the IRS furloughing employees (because of the sequester) with this “fair and balanced” introduction of his Tea Party guest: “Darla Dawald has a suggestion. Forget taking the day off, take the rest of the month off. In fact, take the whole year off. Come to think of it, well, stay permanently off. Darla, methinks, and I’ve heard some of your fine speeches, young lady, you’re not a fan of the IRS. So what do you make of this excuse?”
Read moreFox News Doctors Palin's Bailin' As Alaska Governor
Fox News did a little image makeover for newly-returned pundit Sarah Palin a few days ago when, in an article about Alaska politics, the "fair and balanced" folks described the improbability of her return to office with the following: "She hasn’t run for elected office since resigning as Alaska governor to become the 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee and recently returned to Fox News as a paid commentator." The problem with that statement? Palin did not resign to become the nominee. She resigned in 2009 - nearly a year after she became the nominee and about seven months after Barack Obama had been inaugurated - amid a swirl of ethics complaints. (H/T News Corpse)

While most Americans were probably thinking about going to the beach and barbecuing this week, those “fair and balanced” folks at Fox News were thinking of ways to ram their agenda down the throats of the rest of us and smearing anyone who disagrees with them along the way. Here is a collection of their "patriotic" outrageousness for you, our readers, to mull over. Because, as always, while many can be nominated, only one can be the Fox News Outrageous Quote Of The Week.
Read moreHannity Hosts Islamophobic Hate Monger Pamela Geller As Egypt Expert
Pamela Geller has no expertise on Egypt, U.S. foreign policy or even the religion of Islam – other than the fact that her hostility is so extreme, her organization has been listed as a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center and Great Britain recently banned her from entering their country because her visit was deemed “not conducive to the public good.” But the Hannity show presented her as an authority to comment on the then-demonstrations against Egypt’s President Morsi last week. Geller not only displayed her ignorance and shallow grasp of the situation, but she got a good chunk of sympathetic air time to hate monger, including saying that President Obama is “consistently on the side of jihadic, Islamic supremacist regimes.”
Read moreTodd Starnes Impressed With 'Giant Burrito' At Gay Pride Parade?!
Culture warrior extraordinaire, Paula Deen supporter, and Fox News writer, radio host, and TV commentator Todd Starnes is always on the lookout for examples of how the insidious "gay agenda" is out to destroy truth, justice, and the Christian American way, such as when SCOTUS recently "overruled God." And that's why, I'm sure, the Jesus loving, homo hating Starnes is always on the lookout for examples of this licentiousness at gay pride parades on which he seems to have an odd fixation. Last year, he tweeted about the male thongs and leather chaps seen at a NY pride parade. This year, he tweeted his sympathy for NY tourists who were exposed to this degeneracy which included, OMG, a giant burrito being ridden by one of those evil Christian seducing, Jesus hating, "sodomites," (in the parlance of Starnes' pals) and, pass Todd his fan because I do believe he's about to pass out, "foreskin activists." Jesus wept!
Read moreWe've Got Mail... For Fox News
It's time for our weekly peek into the minds and hearts of Fox News viewers - and it ain't pretty. It is, however rather entertaining and enlightening. So here is the latest installment of our Fox News mailbox, i.e. emails sent to News Hounds in the mistaken belief that we are Fox News. This week, George Zimmerman and Trayvon Martin seemed to be the biggest subject on the viewers'/readers' minds. UPDATED: One piece of mail was actually meant for us.
Read moreFox Guest Race Baits The Zimmerman Verdict
Just a few days after Greta Van Susteren obsessed on the air about African Americans “not accepting” an acquittal of George Zimmerman should the jury verdict be such (as Fox has long been advocating). But that seems to be a one-way concern that only centers on the conduct of black people. Last night, Van Susteren’s substitute, Kimberly Guilfoyle, hosted a guest who announced that if Zimmerman is found guilty, "I would say that would be as politically motivated and racially motivated as the O.J. acquittal.”
Read moreOn Fox & Friends: America Is Christian Nation, Fourth of July Is 'Religious' Holiday'
As Fox News' flagship show for those Christians who reside in an alternate reality in which the United States was founded by devout Christians seeking to establish a political system governed by the Christian bible, it isn't surprising that Fox & Friends would promote those who promote this view. Such was the case last week when Clayton Morris interviewed the head of the company that, according to Fox, teaches kids the "true meaning" of July 4th which is - are ya ready for it - really a religious holiday because, of course, we are a Christian Nation.. Once again, Fox & Friends shows us why Fox viewers are misinformed because, once again, propaganda trumps reality.
