Gallup Ranks Fox News Number One (Sort of)

Posted by Margarita -3pc on July 09, 2013 · Flag

Fox Nation is trumpeting the fact that, according to Gallup, “Fox News is America's top outlet for news.” The Nation reprinted a glowing post from John Nolte at breitbart.com, which reported that 8% of those surveyed in late June said they got their news from Fox; second place is CNN with 7%. In fact, gentle reader, if you look more closely at the Gallup data, Fox appears to be in second place, and “non-specific” ranks first with a much larger 26%.

Which doesn’t stop Mr. Nolte at breitbart from gushing: “It should come as no surprise that Fox News leads the pack. Other than being brilliantly produced, previous studies prove that Fox News is not even close to as ideological as its mainstream media critics want you to believe.” And this jaw-dropper: "Though there is no study to back this up, from my own observations, Fox topping today's Gallup poll isn't at all surprising. Politics aside, Fox offers something that no other cable or broadcast news outlet does: diversity."

Really? REALLY? That "diversity" doesn't seem to extend to Fox's audience, according to Gallup. For example, it reports that nearly two-thirds of Fox News-oriented news consumers are 50 and older, compared with barely a third of CNN-watchers. Core Fox News viewers are much more likely than core CNN viewers to be white, Protestant, attend church weekly, and to earn $75,000 or more per year. And surprise, surprise! Over 90% of Fox viewers say they lean Republican. Fox is #1 because a faithful base watches it.

I guess actually reporting the news means Fox is biased in the eyes of liberals. IRS targeting, Benghazi cover up, Obama’s bald faced lying about Obamacare.

Ever consider that people might watch Fox news not because they are old white geezers but because Fox actually investigates those things rather than remaining silent as death like the other news channels?

Oh sorry I forgot – recognizing the IRS as a political tool of the Democrats and calling out Hillary and Obama for a blatant deception of the American people with their propoganda about a You-tube video being the cause of Benghazi means you are a right wing fanatic.

Obviously these illegal and underhanded tactics are okay because they helped keep the Democrats in power.

“Fox News is America’s top outlet for news.”

Actually, Fox is a very distant #4 when it comes to who people choose when they watch the news.

ABC, NBC and CBS News all get far more viewers than Fox News. CBS News at #3 gets three times more viewers than Fox News.

You see, Fox relies on the artificial category of “cable news” to make this claim. They know everyone will get it wrong and imply that “Fox News is America’s top outlet for news.”

Nope. Not even close.

9 times more people get their news from the top 3 than get it from Fox.

Their ’’diversity’’ reminds me of a scene from The Blues Brothers movie —

Elwood: What kind of music do you usually have here?
Bartender: Oh, we got both kinds, country AND western!

Let’s not forget that when they did “by party,” 94% of Republicans said that they’d watch (and trust) Fox first. And 97% of Republicans said that watch Fox said they refuse to approve of anything Obama does.

This entire poll is a smoking gun for how biased Fox News watchers are- They only watch because it agrees with their little “Let’s get even with people who questioned our guy!” mentality. They want to baselessly hate Obama, Fox and Rush give them what to say when someone calls them on it. Pretty much the end right there.

When Rusty the Radio Clown gets through destroying Fox “News” Channel, they won’t have any ratings because their ditto heads will ditch the network.

Buy bulk load of popcorn and plenty of butter. This will be a long and entertaining show.

The Nation reprinted a glowing post from John Nolte at breitbart.com, . . .

Once they mentioned Breitbart, all credibility ceased.

. . . which reported that 8% of those surveyed in late June said they got their news from Fox . . .

Meaning 92% got their news from somewhere OTHER THAN FOX.

This fact apparently was lost on the denizens of FoKKKsNotion — but, as I’ve said before, basic math isn’t the wingnuts’ strong suit . . .

If you exclude airport waiting rooms and nursing homes where Fux Noise serves as a nightlight, the percentage of viewers drops below 5%.

Fux Noise: Where old white geezers are told what they want to hear.
