It's Official: Fox News' War On Christmas Season Has Begun
Although we've had a few sneak previews this year, Fox News Scrooges have finally finished unpacking their Christmas animosity from summer storage. They are ready to start the holiday season with a fresh round of attacks, divisiveness and, of course victimhood, as they go scouring the country for people who don't celebrate Christmas the way Fox thinks they should. This year, Santa's ambusher and Fox Nation editor, Jesse Watters, has provided a helpful map for Fox Hitler Youth elves to help track people he'd like to ridicule, smear, whatever. However, in a nice turnabout, a swarm of commenters have descended on the site to say this not exactly what Jesus would have wanted.

Despite Bill O'Reilly's belief that his "tips of the day" are sage pearls of wisdom that he so generously imparts to us mere mortal, they also serve to highlight how Bill can talk the talk but doesn't, or hasn't, walked the walk. That Bill doesn't practice what he preaches is reflected in his tip about ignoring "gutternsipes." The man who brought new meaning to the term "fuck it we'll do it live," gave us advice on venting anger. The man who specializes in personal attacks has advised us to be "magnanimous." And last week, he advised America's youth to keep their clothes on - a tip that showed us that, despite his persona as a devout Catholic traditionalist, O'Reilly is just a dirty, old man with a strange Miley Cyrus obsession. Bill's tip was also rich in irony considering that Bill O'Reilly is the man who brought new meaning to falafel and loofahs!

That the "fair & balanced" Fox News plays to those who think that all you need to know about the 6,000 year old earth is in the bible was underscored, Tuesday night, when the "moderate and reasonable" Megyn Kelly actually, with a straight face, reported that -wait for it - some Florida parents want to tear out the pages, in an advanced placement history textbook, which discuss Islam! And this isn't the first time that Fox News has featured an agenda driven discussion about this text which, if certain Florida residents had their way, would be burnt in the town square because, OMG, it actually devotes a chapter to Islam and doesn't provide Christianity with the same amount of space. And now that these Christian parents, who fear creeping Sharia, are brandishing their pitchforks, Fox has their back. Kelly's "news" segment was amusing, however, as it showed that in cultivating ignorance, Fox News has some very fertile fields!

On yesterday’s Your World, Fox News' Charles Gasparino fear mongered, with a little help from host Neil Cavuto, about what a Bill de Blasio mayoralty could look like. De Blasio was elected New York mayor the day before in a huge landslide. But Gasparino called him “Comrade” de Blasio and suggested it was just a matter of time before we’ll see “the epicenter of capitalism being held hostage by a potential socialist.”

Here's another sign that Fox News is joined at the hip with the Republican party: Politico reported today that 2016 presidential hopeful Rand Paul met privately and separately with both Rupert Murdoch and Roger Ailes recently. As Politico put it, Paul has been "working to smooth concerns among Republicans and influencers about whether he shares his famous libertarian father’s views on issues like national security." Or to put it another way, he knows how important Fox News is to any Republican presidential candidate and he wants the blessings of the bigwigs.

Bill O’Reilly had a spirited discussion with Dr. Jonathan Gruber last night. Gruber is a supporter of the Affordable Care Act who had previously called out O’Reilly on some of his distortions. Last night, as Gruber explained that the mandate is what makes health insurance affordable and available for people with pre-existing conditions, O’Reilly dismissed that concern by saying that “for the greater good of the nation,” those people should wait another year to get health insurance. Of course, he’s not one of the ones who will have to make such a sacrifice.

A featured FoxNews.com story yesterday was headlined, “ObamaCare’s red state rate squeeze.” A subtitle said, “Study finds Obamacare premiums will be highest in states that did not vote for President Obama, prompting some lawmakers to say it proves ‘law picks winners and losers’ across the country.” Such a byline invites the reader to venture forward to the article itself whereupon a plethora of nonsense is unleashed.

You can chalk up Megyn Kelly as the latest Fox News talking head to suggest President Obama should be impeached over his “If you like your health insurance, you can keep it” remarks. That’s bad enough. But during the same show, she dismissed as “old news” the fact that millions more people are now eligible for affordable health insurance under ObamaCare in order to continue her impeachment talk.
Read moreTodd Starnes Takes Bogus Credit For Restoration Of NJ School Christmas Music
Bill O'Reilly isn't the only Christian Christmas warrior who has saved Christmas from the nefarious forces of the Christmas hating atheist agenda. It seems that beloved Fox News culture warrior Todd Starnes is now taking credit for the reversal of a ban on religious music to be performed at some New Jersey school winter concerts, an issue that also got the attention of Mr.Christmas himself, Bill O'Reilly. But as with much of what our dear Toddles reports, it's not exactly true. But Toddles loves Jesus, so it's all good...

Stephen Colbert hosted David Folkenflik last night to discuss his new book, Murdoch’s World: The Last of the Old Media Empires. The book has already made news with its revelation that Fox News employees trolled blogs to counter anything negative that had been written about the network. So before bringing on Folkenflik, Colbert revealed his Twitter strategy to give Fox glowing reviews.
