Bill O'Reilly isn't the only Christian Christmas warrior who has saved Christmas from the nefarious forces of the Christmas hating atheist agenda. It seems that beloved Fox News culture warrior Todd Starnes is now taking credit for the reversal of a ban on religious music to be performed at some New Jersey school winter concerts, an issue that also got the attention of Mr.Christmas himself, Bill O'Reilly. But as with much of what our dear Toddles reports, it's not exactly true. But Toddles loves Jesus, so it's all good...
Starnes Twitter announces that "NJ school reverses Christmas music ban after my story was published."
First of all, there was NO BAN on "Christmas music." As reported in the Washington Post, "students won’t be allowed to sing religious holiday songs at winter concerts in a south-central New Jersey school district." The plan was for students to sing secular music associated with the Christmas holiday which was noted, by Toddles, in his Fox article in which he referenced "songs about Frosty, Rudolph and mommy making out with Santa Claus are fine, but harmonizing about round yon virgin will get you put on the naughty list."
The school superintendent has reversed her decision so that the students can sing "pieces with traditional and historic religious origins." She also noted that "concurrently, the Board will continue its review of the larger policy implications for the future." So the reversal might be temporary.
Toddles says that the ban was lifted after his story was published. But the story was published (last Friday) on the same day that the school superintendent made the change official. So in order for his premise to work, Ms. Bauer, a very busy school superintendent, would have had to have been made aware of his column at some point during the day and for f**ck's sake, why would she or any of her staff even read Starnes' garbage, let alone respond to it.
And inasmuch as Starnes is taking credit for the change (one assumes O'Reilly will follow suit), Bauer stated that the change was made "after reviewing additional legal considerations and advice on this matter and the expressed sentiments of the community at large."
So sorry, Toddles, you can flatter yourself that you were instrumental in this alteration of course; but reality says otherwise. And BTW, you didn't break the story. The WAPO reported it one day earlier. And while the NJ website, which reported the update on the story, mentioned Bill O'Reilly, they didn't mention you!
Since Toddy loves Christmas songs we have a few songs just for him.
“I saw Toddy kissing Santa Claus”
“Have Yourself a Merry Little Toddy”
“Toddy the Red-Nosed Reindeer”
“A Holly Toddy Christmas”
“Here Comes Toddy Claus”
