Earlier in the week, I posted about how Fox News' crackpot "Medical A-Team" psychiatrist Dr. Keith Ablow was seriously considering running for the U.S. Senate in Massachusetts. Now, he seems to have changed his mind.

More bad news for Fox: A recent PPP poll found that the public's trust in the network has sunk to a new low. Except among Republicans. Their confidence in the "fair and balanced" network is so strong that Fox came out as both the least trusted and most trusted network.

This week, there was an internet kerfuffle over Bill O’Reilly’s statement that he hasn’t heard “anything” over at NBC about President Obama’s controversial drone policy. In fact, NBC News broke the story. Last night, O’Reilly addressed the matter in his “Tip of the Day” segment – by arguing that he had been referring to NBC analysis, not news. And you know what? I agree with him. I saw the original segment and although what he literally said was incorrect, I thought his meaning was clear within the context of the discussion. But, as my grandmother used to say in situations like this, O’Reilly started out in the right but his handling of it put him in the wrong.

In looking out for "the folks," aging traditionalist Catholic Bill O'Reilly's viewing habits have, in the past, focused on scantily clad women. Bill's sexual, soft-core visuals were sometimes related to his desire to scold girls gone wild for their slutty slut behavior - a desire made manifest when, during his obsession with Miley Cyrus, he showed videos of Cyrus with what he defined as inappropriate couture. Other times, his T&A shots were done to praise women such as - true story - when he extolled the patriotism of some bodacious babes whose support for the troops was shown by their red, white, and blue bikinis. Bill's soft core videos actually earned him a reprimand from Laura Ingraham who suggested that he was having a mid-life crisis. Lately, Bill's fascination with the sexy has been under control (although he did seem to enjoy the pixelated topless nun breasts) - that is until last night when he showed video of his hired stalker, Jesse Watters, ogling women at a nudist colony. Ick.

Didn’t you just know that Sean Hannity would use the ex-LAPD alleged cop killer to attack the left? Like clockwork, he found a way: by deceptively highlighting suspect Christopher Dorner’s praise for Democrats and liberals – and “forgetting” all about his support for Republicans. This, during the same week that Hannity has been whining incessantly about deception elsewhere in the media. Then, for a crowning bit of hypocrisy, he and his “media watchdog” buddy, Brent Bozell, spent the next several minutes mewling about the “double standard” in the so-called liberal media.

Earlier this week, newly-minted Fox pundit Erick Erickson offered a jaw-dropping Tweet of support for a Dollar General employee who was charged with aggravated assault for hitting a child with her belt at least 25 times after the boy threw a cookie at her.

On the February 5 Your World, former Senator Jim DeMint, now President-elect of the Heritage Foundation, spoke about the President seeking more tax revenue. He said, “The federal government will receive record, historically high tax revenues this year, yet we’ve doubled spending over the last 10 years. It’s a spending problem. The President is not willing to cut spending at this point.” Sound familiar? DeMint made a similar claim the year before and it was rated “false” by PolitiFact. But guest host Stuart Varney offered no challenge.

In addition to doing Sundays with Fr. Jonathan Morris, Fox & Friends features Thursdays with Michelle Malkin, a segment during which Ms. Malkin treats the viewers to her patented eye popping, lip curling, and toxic commentary. She hates those, especially the president, who don't conform to her radical right wing world view. We get it. This morning, she droned (badaboom) on about what she feels is Obama's and the mainstream media's hypocrisy regarding drone policy. After that little rant she moved on to smear Chris Rock, Jamie Foxx, and Sandra Fluke for what she perceives is delusional Obama worship. While her criticisms of Rock and Foxx (scary black men who admire the president!) were based on actual quotes, her statement about Fluke appears to be fabricated out of nothing more than Michelle's unhinged mind. Ah, don't ya love the smell of crazy in the morning!

This morning, Fox & Friends hosted author Zac Unger, who moved to the Canadian Arctic to research the supposedly dwindling, on-its-way-to-extinction polar bears, only to find out their numbers are increasing. But while Unger made it clear that the reason for the increase is a ban on hunting and that the bears still face problems from global warming, Fox News did its best to turn the segment into an “inconvenient truth for environmentalists.”

"Funnyman" Dennis Miller joined Bill O'Reilly last night to discuss a North Korean YouTube film showing New York blowing up (which has subsequently been removed from YouTube because of a copyright infringement). Ever the tough-talking chickenhawks, they responded by saying a drone should be sent to "get rid of" South Korean pop star Psy.
