Dr. Keith Ablow Not Running For Senate After All

Posted by Ellen -7859.80pc on February 08, 2013 · Flag

Earlier in the week, I posted about how Fox News' crackpot "Medical A-Team" psychiatrist Dr. Keith Ablow was seriously considering running for the U.S. Senate in Massachusetts. Now, he seems to have changed his mind.

Media Matters reports that Ablow has bowed out in order to avoid a primary fight. But it's hard to believe that a guy who likened "Gangnam Style" to a narcotic, suggested Vice President Biden could be suffering from dementia (without having examined him), and recently suggested the Alabama hostage case was the result of gun control supporters, could actually think he'd have a chance of winning.

In fact, I'd say Ablow would have to be delusional to even consider it. Maybe he should have his head examined.

Just as well. We already have a surplus of crackpot politicians (Rand Paul, MIchelle Bachmann, et al). Crackpot TV psychiatrists like “Dr” Allblow are a rare breed.

Damn — what a shame.

With Keith Ablowme and Geraldo Rivera running for Senate — coupled with the stated desire of some conservatives for John Boehner to be replaced as Speaker by . . . Sarah Palin,

the 2014 race was showing promise of being almost as entertaining as the ’08 and ’12 races were . . .

Ablow claims to be top flight in psychiatry, forensic psychiatry, and he claimed a few times that he has a unique insight into the police from his time in Behavioral Analysis Teams.

I think he was afraid that the political arena would open a few skeleton closets on things that we only suspect about him as a Fox News contributor- some of which would more than likely end his career after he lost.

At least Geraldo doesn’t care- In fact, I think he’s still proud of some of it.
