Fox News' ace culture clubber Todd Starnes has a close relationship with Jesus - the truth, not so much. In an effort to prove that all those snotty pants, liberal, West Coast types hate the military (and Jesus too) he wrote a little screed about how Google didn't do a Memorial Day "Doodle" honoring the military. He ends with this: "Google also chooses to ignore Christian holidays like Christmas. So they have a problem with G.I. Joe and Jesus? Imagine that." Once again, Toddles' pants and biscuits are on fire!! 

If you’ve been watching Fox News lately, you’ve probably seen the story of Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi who is in a Mexican jail after driving across the border – via a wrong turn, he says – with three guns. Mexican gun laws are very strict. Last night, Bill O’Reilly announced that if Tahmooressi is not released today, “we have something that Mexico is not going to like.”

Bill O’Reilly and Bernie Goldberg ridiculed film critic Ann Hornaday’s Washington Post column tying Hollywood movies to Elliot Rodger’s horrific shooting rampage in Santa Barbara. I’d have no beef with that were it not for O’Reilly’s repeated complaints about the evil influences of Beyoncé’s music and videos lately. Which history he rewrote during this segment.

Last night, the Hannity show aired a pre-recorded program based on radio clips of right-wing icon Paul Harvey suggesting that liberalism is the work of the devil. Sean Hannity likened Harvey to Nostradamus and deliberately singled out President Obama as one such devil-channeler. Fortunately, Fox contributor Kirsten Powers let Hannity have it with a smackdown that was nothing less than magnificent.

Fox News worships groups which advocate for Christian rights. But as "the place where you can bash Islam with impunity," Fox never, EVAH, wastes an opportunity to bash the Council on American-Islamic Relations, a group which advocates on behalf of Muslims. For instance, while Fox supports Christians who feel that they are being unfairly portrayed by librul Hollywood (see reaction to the movie "Noah"), they bashed CAIR for its objections to a movie which, CAIR felt, stereotyped Islamic culture in a denigrating way. Underscoring, once again, why Fox News is seen as an "echo chamber" for America's Islamphobic network, this morning's Fox & Friends promoted the newest "outrage" in the world of anti-Islamic hate. Elisabeth Hasselbeck informed her audience that CAIR hates American soldiers. It's not true - but then this is Fox & Friends.

It’s hard to go too far with an Obama conspiracy theory on Fox but Dr. Ben Carson managed to do it on The Kelly File last week. He shocked even Megyn Kelly when he told her that “some people” want others on welfare and are deliberately holding the economy down in order to keep them on it. Carson couldn’t say “exactly” who these people are but it was pretty clear he meant the Obama administration.

In the real world, a shooting rampage like the one by Elliot Rodger at University of California, Santa Barbara is a very complex issue. Even with the extensive clues left behind by Rodger. On Fox’s Justice with Judge Jeanine, however, TV psychologist Dr. Robi Ludwig had no trouble coming up with a snap analysis suggesting that Rodger’s killing spree was the result of fighting against his “homosexual impulses.” Host Jeanine Pirro made no challenge.

Last week, right-winger Dinesh D’Souza pleaded guilty to, essentially, campaign finance fraud – and admitted on the air to Megyn Kelly that he had, in fact, committed the acts he pleaded guilty to. Yet Kelly spent most of the five-minute segment doing her best to argue that D’Souza was more victim than lawbreaker.

Last week, Republicans proposed to let public schools opt out of the healthier lunch and breakfast programs if they can show the programs are losing money. Coincidentally, the healthier standards just happen to be championed by First Lady Michelle Obama. Not surprisingly, Neil Cavuto was an immediate endorser of the GOP plan.
