Fox Guest Diagnoses UCSB Shooter’s ‘Homosexual Impulses’

Posted by Aria and Ellen -11pc on May 26, 2014 · Flag

In the real world, a shooting rampage like the one by Elliot Rodger at University of California, Santa Barbara is a very complex issue. Even with the extensive clues left behind by Rodger. On Fox’s Justice with Judge Jeanine, however, TV psychologist Dr. Robi Ludwig had no trouble coming up with a snap analysis suggesting that Rodger’s killing spree was the result of fighting against his “homosexual impulses.” Host Jeanine Pirro made no challenge.

During the discussion on May 24th, Pirro set the stage for armchair psychology. She cited Rodger’s manifesto and announced, “He despises women.” Then she asked Ludwig, “What’s going on in this kid’s head?”

Ludwig's reply was jaw dropping:

Well, it’s very interesting. When I was first listening to him, I was like, "Oh, he’s angry with women for rejecting him." And then I started to have a different idea. Is this somebody who is trying to fight against his homosexual impulses? Was he angry with women because they were taking away men from him? But this is a kid who couldn’t connect, and felt enraged, and wanted to obliterate anyone that made him feel like a nothing.

That’s what this guy felt like: a nothing on the one hand, and then there was a grandiosity on the other hand, where he’s talking about how beautiful he is, and how sophisticated he is. But clearly a very problematic guy, with probably very early signs - I don’t know, I haven’t diagnosed him- early signs of schizophrenia. That’s what it sounds like.

…I think too, was he angry at the men for not choosing him? This was a kid who was just angry in general, and probably felt rejected. He couldn’t connect, he couldn’t feel loved, he couldn’t feel successful, maybe he couldn’t even feel like a real man.

Not surprisingly, Ludwig's comments caused a stir.

Today, on social media Ludwig wrote:

I was misunderstood on @FoxNews this weekend, when I was asked to hypothesize several factors which could have triggered ‪#‎ElliotRoger ‘s spree killing. I in NO way meant to indicate being a homosexual or having homosexual impulses is a cause for spree killing. My job on @judgejeanine was to asses (sic) several possible triggers for #ElliotRoger and his behavior ‪#‎peace ‪#‎forequalrights However, I apologize to all those who felt offended. That was never my intention.

But why was she making any hypothesis about Rodger's sexuality in the first place? Wouldn’t the responsible thing to do have been to talk generally about what motivates mass shooters and then point to specifics in Rodger’s manifesto or YouTube messages that offer clues – rather than come up with some “hypothetical” conclusion about the psyche of a tortured soul she never met, much less examined?

Watch Ludwig psychoanalyze the sexuality of a man she never met below.

Apparently this Dr. Robi Ludwig is also "the lifestyle real estate correspondent for Coldwell Banker Real Estate, one of the top real estate firms in the country, “providing professional insight and commentary on the real estate experience.” LOL!

And, for her ridiculous comments about the shooter’s “homosexual impulses”, she has been fired from her Coldwell Banker job.

“Dr. Robi’s comments on the tragedy in Santa Barbara do not represent the opinions of Coldwell Banker. Therefore at this time we feel it best to part ways with her as our lifestyle real estate correspondent,” Coldwell Banker wrote on Facebook in response to LGBT activist and founder of Memeographs, Scott Wooledge, who had contacted them to check if she was their spokesperson. A search of Coldwell Banker’s website finds that the company appears to have scrubbed its website of all articles written by Dr. Ludwig. While links to her articles — the most recent published in January — still exist, each article comes up, “Page Not Found. Sorry, but what you’re looking for could not be found.”

This is a completely ridiculous red herring. I’ll give Ludwig props for departing the accepted right wing talking points and coming up with a whole new spin. All the other right wingers have been taking this time to defend gun rights, saying that Rodger killed an equal number of people with a knife as he did with his guns. Which is kooky enough as it is. The point is that he was trying to kill as many people as he could, and he carefully selected weapons that would allow him to accomplish that task.

Looking at his writings about what he was planning, it’s clear that this was an extremely disturbed and extremely intelligent person. He didn’t just grab a gun and run outside. He spent years planning revenge against all the other kids, and he had clearly worked out a system of how he intended to do this. There’s a twisted logic to the way he put this plot into motion – he made sure he had multiple weapons and plenty of ammo, just in case one of them jammed. He made sure that he had two working weapons so that he could kill himself more efficiently rather than go to jail. And he was extremely calm about how he went about this plan – which is probably the creepiest part of the whole thing.

The lesson of what happened here is that we live in a society where someone as disturbed and paranoid as he was can easily obtain and conceal the guns and ammunition that would allow him to commit mass murder without anyone stopping him. He even gave warnings in advance that he intended to do this. And nothing really happened until he finally went through on his threats.

What the right wing is once again fearing with this story is that people will say, as the angry father of one of Rodger’s victims has done, that we really have to do something about gun control. They DO NOT WANT gun control, and they’ve now repeatedly made clear that they’d rather see massacres like this one get repeated than do anything about it. This isn’t a matter of infringing on people’s 2nd Amendment rights. It’s a matter of society needing to take responsibility for this kind of danger within itself.

Psychologist Dr. Quack should lose her license to practice. This broad can diagnose a person simply by seeing the coverage in the media, probably on Fox “News” Channel.

How she was allowed to practice her profession in the first place is a mystery.

Hmm. This distraction certainly kept the topic of gun control off the air. I’ve seen other rants that blame porn for the killing spree. But on Fox there’s not much mention of how people who’ve been seeing psychiatrists all their lives maybe shouldn’t be allowed to buy guns. Certain mental illness combined with guns seems to be the constant factors of these mass killings—except on Fox where shiny outrage rules.

“Dr” Robi and “Dr” Keith Allblow must have earned their “doctorate” from the same crackpot correspondence course.

Joseph, don’t worry about it- I actually invented creative new profanity hybrids screaming at her, and I only wrote up the segment half of this, because I reached a point where thinking about all this broke something inside.

If you feel like you haven’t reached your outrage limit, however, here’s something that’s going viral in conservative/Tea Party circles. I get to go tonight without sleep starting in it, so I’m sharing the misery. Just stop reading if hear bubbling noises. That’s your blood literally boiling:

Yeah… I fully expect that to be endorsed by someone on Fox this week.

From Ludwig’s blog entry: “However, I apologize to all those who felt offended. That was never my intention.”

Sorry, bitch*, but yes you f#cking DID intend to offend. And you really need to learn how to genuinely apologize. That was NOT an apology, you miserable skank. It was, however, your standard, run-of-the-mill CONservative “apology” where the people who are/were offended by your sh#tty comment were, in your braindead opinion, wrong to be offended.

Add this c@nt’s name to the list of “psychologists” who need to have their licenses revoked IMMEDIATELY for malpractice.

*Sorry for the harsh language, but this kind of crap really pisses me off. Using her own “analysis,” let ME offer an analysis of Ludwig: She’s a right-wing homophobic whore who BOUGHT her degree (she got her “doctorate” from a CORRESPONDENCE school).
