Time reporter Simon Shuster appeared on On The Record tonight to discuss his reporting on how Vladimir Putin has been gaining strength with each new crisis. Shuster tried to explain to host Greta Van Susteren that Putin is playing on the divisions within Europe, not on the supposed weakness of President Obama that Van Susteren repeatedly suggested. But she seemed determined to paint Putin as a winner and Obama a loser and the heck with Shuster’s facts.

Three cheers for Mark Hannah. He didn’t just go on Fox's Kelly File and argue a defense of President Obama, he called out Repubiican toxicity for hindering American interests.

As the product of a 50's Catholic education, Bill O'Reilly was taught (as was your humble correspondent) that "dirty" thoughts were a one-way ticket to Satansville and that sex was strictly for reproduction. But somehow Bill strayed off the straight and narrow and onto the road to perdition. According to a sexual harassment suit, filed by his former producer, not only did Bill have dirty thoughts about her; but he was so into sex toys that he urged her to get a vibrator and name it! But kink (not that there's anything wrong with it) is mainstream - so much so that Lila Rose's "Live Action" (LOL) sting video crew is using it as a pretext to sting Planned Parenthood in an effort to bring about its defunding. Not surprisingly, anti-choice zealot Bill O'Reilly loves the sweet and virginal Lila who, last night, discussed nasty kink stuff being told to clean teens. O'Reilly was all ears?

Ted Cruz has a new showboat to swim around in, pretend to be concerned about people other than himself while causing as much damage to the functioning of our government as he can. No, he’s not going to shut down the government (and blame it on President Obama) again. This time, he plans to block all State Department nominees, regardless of the world crises happening, until his “questions” about the Obama administration’s ban on flights to Israel are answered. Sean Hannity seemed to think it’s a terrific idea. UPDATED

The persecution of Iraq Christians, by the radical jihadist group ISIS, is quite horrific. So as the network for persecuted Christians, it isn't surprising that Fox News would be quite concerned about the plight of these people. And while, from a journalistic perspective, this is fine, what isn't fine is how Fox News is politicizing these people in order to smear President Obama. Starting this past Sunday, Fox News has done six segments which start with factual reporting on the Iraqi Christians (while ignoring Muslims persecuted by ISIS) and end with an attack on the President who, according to the Fox talkers, should be as outraged as they are. Never mind those silly trivialities like MH17, Gaza, and the border. Christians are being persecuted and Obama is not doing what Fox News thinks he should. Bad Obama!!!

Sean Hannity’s segregation-supporting pal, Ainsley Earhardt visited the Hannity show last night for some snarky attacks on the upcoming Obama family vacation. That’s now expected on Fox. But Earhardt put some extra spice in the jabs when she told Hannity that Fox will be taking photos during the vacay and “hopefully, we’ll be showing” Obama in the “dopey hat” Hannity jeered at.

Jon Stewart addressed Rupert Murdoch’s lust for Time Warner last night and came up with a comedic, albeit apparently fictional, solution: a Kickstarter campaign to buy CNN. 

Fusion and Univision's Jorge Ramos visited The O'Reilly Factor last night where he discussed his swin across the Rio Grande between Texas and Mexico to highlight the perils faced by immigrants, especially the immigrant children that conservatives like Bill O'Reilly are so eager to deport, they seem to be afraid of catching cooties.

Sean Hannity’s pal, Mark Levin, is mad as hell at Jon Stewart over a Daily Show bit last week that was somewhat critical of Israel’s attack on Gaza. Tonight, Levin visited the Hannity show for a televised diatribe against Stewart. And I’m sorry, Mark, but I don’t think you’re going to win this battle.

According to recent mainstream media accounts, the radical Iraqi jihadist group ISIS has delivered an ultimatum to Christians who live in Mosul - convert to Islam, pay a tax, or die. Christians are not happy with these options and are leaving the city in droves. Obviously this is a terrible situation but leave it to America's Christian "news" network to politicize this persecution in order to smear the President. Last night, Megyn Kelly hosted her pal, Tony Perkins, head of the SPCL designated homophobic hate group, The Family Research Council. While Kelly was just fit to bursting with righteous indignation over the treatment of Iraqi Christians, devout Christian Perkins used the sad situation to bash the President. Like the head of John the Baptist, this Fox agitprop was delivered on a silver platter!
