Greta Van Susteren Back On The Job As Obama Vacation Police

It’s Obama vacation time - which means one thing at Fox News: yet another excuse to throw a hissy fit. Fox’s prime time vacation detective, Greta Van Susteren, is already back to work, sifting through the evidence for reasons to drum up outrage. This time, she had a snarky video to help the cause.

Van Susteren got right to the jab in her introduction:

This week President Obama refusing to go to the U.S./Mexican border but guess where the president is planning to go? On vacation. News today that the Obamas will head back to ritzy Martha’s Vineyard next month, an annual trip and one of many presidential vacations that YOU are helping to pay for.

Cue up the video. As Van Susteren exclaimed, “On vacation! Perhaps from reality?” we saw footage of the Obama family biking, the president golfing, on a plane, etc.

“So is this a holiday-happy presidency?” Van Susteren “asked.” Then came almost three minutes of video attacking and making fun of recapping previous Obama vacations.

If you ask me, it shows more about Van Susteren’s priorities than the Obamas’. I mean, is this really news? Especially when Obama has spent much less time on vacation than President George W. Bush? As PolitiFact notes in its accounting of the two presidents’ vacations, Obama doesn’t own a vacation home, unlike Bush, and security concerns mean he can’t just book a room at a Holiday Inn like the rest of us.

After the video, Van Susteren actually assembled three reporters for a panel discussion of this all-important topic. But wait, there was more. She capped it all off with an editorial commentary criticizing Obama on the subject. But first, she announced, “Obviously, we have not compared the cost of other presidents’ vacation trips. But you get the picture.”

Yes, we certainly do.

Watch Van Susteren spend more than seven minutes on this subject below.

According to the Washington Times, visits to Camp David are cheaper??? The $295,000 a night price tag (supposedly includes AF1 transportation) is only for the “main house.” It does not include the cost of the other cabins on the compound where the Bush’s have invited friends and family to stay.

I would love for someone to fully investigate the cost.

Here is The Times article:

The fact that she isn’t comparing his trips to past presidents (namely Bush) pretty much says it all!! Of course what Greta fails to point out is that Bush’s total time @camp David was 487 days. Everyone who writes about this subject uses figures from Mark Knoller. His figures don’t lie, and he does not include Camp David visits into the “vacations” category because it’s a government funded facility (presidential perk). However, the presidential retreat that was built by FDR was for him “to escape the heat and political pressures of the city.” He named it the “USS Shangri La.”

FOX News anchors would like for you to believe that it is free for presidents to stay there. FREE? Not to the taxpayers! In Robert Gray’s book, which was intended to bash Obama, the cost to the taxpayers is $295,000 a night.

He also states in his book that, “In 2009, the military payroll at Camp David was $8,000,000. And these men and women were not there as replacement for the Secret Service to protect the President, but rather to serve the First Family and its guests.” But, Obama rarely visits Camp David. this is not so for past presidents.

Nobody at FOX has bothered to do the math on Bush’s bill to the taxpayers for Camp David visits. Tantaros thinks Obama should model Bush’s vacation schedule! NOT!!!

Greta Van Frozen Face, the very portrait of a self-loathing soul-seller so desperate to be a ‘celebrity’ there is no depth to she will not stoop.

Hateful though her enthusiastic collaboration with the Goeb-Ailes propaganda machine is there is something truly pathetic in her slobbering crush on the Quitter Queen and the way she acts as though the mob of slavering hyenas that wallow in her "Gretawire’ cesspool are some kind of big jolly family.

Blame the Scientologists. They have all of Greta’s deepest, darkest secrets (#1 – her pretty obvious lesbianism?) securely in the vault and will be pulling all the strings all the time.
