Frankly, Ellen, I think that you’re overestimating the humanity in this creature of hatred. She has risen steadily at Fox specifically because of her willingness to foment racial hatred. If she had any sense of morality, she would have apologized for each of the the times that her smug tirades turned out to be about false or perceived threats. To make a long story short, in the situation Obama was in, a handshake was proper decorum. At least they didn’t hold hands as Bush did with the Saudi prince, and I don’t remember Fox having their panties in a bunch over that.
