And Robert, don’t forget: Since you’re a male, you’d better be able to prove you’re circumcised, lest you “pollute” the sanctified workplace. Even worse, an uncircumcised penis might just cause the good Jewish men undue stress and anxiety.

Well, for some of the e-mails, it’s just as well they didn’t get to FoxNoise’s real e-mail inbox. They would’ve been deleted just as soon as they were read.

The e-mail about Dubya’s thugs? DELETED.

The e-mail from the soldier requesting a little respect for Obama? DELETED.

The e-mail calling the Five “dumb butts?” DELETED.

The e-mail requesting Sarah Palin’s permanent absence from FoxNoise? DELETED.

I don’t think I’ve ever read so many intelligent e-mails intended for the FoxNoise inbox—even if the content was intended to HELP FoxNoise’s image with “independents.”

(On the other hand, given the content in the e-mail from “Nathan,” I can only say, “Is that you, Sarah?” The word salad is only slightly less coherent than Palin’s usual offering. And I’m just curious what “Nathan’s” been watching lately. Jane Fonda hasn’t done very much of anything in the last decade—5 films and some episodes of HBO’s “The Newsroom”; hardly what one would expect of being the representative of the “liberal media.”)

Anyone else think that the FoxFiends wouldn’t have been quite so “approving” had the little rant included the phrase “Allahu akbar?” Or if the rant had included something along the lines of “What the f*ck is wrong with you stupid f*cking Republican lying ass-bastards? Why do Republicans hate America so much? Is it just because there’s a Black man in the White House that you’d destroy the country? I wish you’d all be arrested as traitors and executed so that you can all rot in Hell.” How do you think the FoxFiends would’ve reacted to that rant?

I don’t know if it’s just me, but I don’t think the FoxFiends would be quite as willing to be so approving of her message.

mlp, I’d be willing to believe that anyone with a 2-digit IQ is Palin’s enemy.

Palin can only aspire to Jethro Bodine-level stupid.

Something Something, care to explain how your insurance is “being canceled” BUT your “premium is going up over 60%?”

I don’t know, but it seems like there’s “something something” kinda wrong with having to pay “60% more” for a canceled insurance policy.

However, you’ve completely missed the point of Eric Stern’s column. He wasn’t trying to give detailed examples and “naming names” of insurance companies. What he was doing was showing how these people—who’ve openly admitted they don’t like “Obamacare” to begin with—haven’t bothered to actually investigate for themselves to find out ALL THEIR OPTIONS.

My job offers a number of different health insurance providers from which I can choose. BUT, it’s MY job as a consumer to check out which of those various providers I should choose. And that’s what these numbskulls (and you, as well) need to do. Of course, if your right-wing teabagging politicians hadn’t stood in the way of what liberals and progressives had wanted (the “Medicaid for all” plan or “single-payer” option; the “public option” was a secondary choice), there really wouldn’t have been all this “research” needed. Your health care would be paid for by the government (just like Medicaid is) and most private physicians don’t really have any problems with Medicaid and Medicare. But, as it is, until you’re eligible for Medicaid, you’re going to have to buy your own insurance and do the same kind of investigative research that you (hopefully) do with your car insurance and homeowner’s/renter’s insurance and life insurance. (When I bought a new car about 10 years ago, because I was financing it, I was required to have full coverage on the car which meant my car insurance rates would more than double for the coverage. While I’d been with my auto insurance company for nearly 20 years at the time, I checked other insurance companies to see what their rates would be for the same coverage; the best I could find was only going to be about $30 a year less than I would pay with my long-time company so I didn’t see any real incentive to change insurance companies. If I could’ve found a savings of about $100 or so a year, I would’ve switched, but it wasn’t in the cards.)

Joseph West commented on Ed Henry Pretends He Walked Out Of White House Press Briefing Because He Was Late 2013-10-16 01:16:52 -0400 · Flag
So, is Ed trying to tell us he’s psychic? I mean, how does he know that Carney WOULDN’T have called on him if only he’d stayed a little longer?

Ed, this is sort of like the lottery. You can only win IF you play. You may not win, ever—no matter how many times you play the numbers. But, it’s a guarantee that you will NOT win if you never play. There’s no certainty that Carney would’ve called on you if you’d stayed, but by leaving, you ensured that you wouldn’t be called on at all. (And I really don’t foresee Mr Carney bothering with you ever again. Although if he does, I certainly hope he embarasses you when he calls on you—something like, “Well before we get started, I know how valuable Ed Henry’s time is so, if the rest of the corps doesn’t mind, I’ll call on him first, okay? Ed? You have a question today or are you too busy to stick around?”)

Presumably, Palin was talking about the golf course at Andrews Air Force Base. But somehow, despite all those newspapers she reads, she missed the fact that the Andrews Air Force Base golf course is open because it is funded by user fees.

Van Susteren didn’t mention that either, even though the “Obama’s golf course is open, the veterans’ memorial is closed” meme is big right now in the right wing blogosphere.

Gotta wonder what Sarah and Greta think about the Congressional Gym still being open? The gym that many of these GOP teabaggers who led the shutdown have defended as “essential” because they get so stressed and need to relax and unwind.

Joseph West commented on New Fox News Darling, Dr. Ben Carson, Says 'Riled Up' Women Should Be 'Re-educated' About Abortion 2013-10-14 14:49:56 -0400 · Flag
Well, I can understand why Carson wouldn’t really remember some of those other things—like Jim Crow laws and the Civil Rights movement. After all, he was born in Detroit, MI in 1951. Detroit was a pretty good model of race relations during the Civil Rights era; right up to the 1967 riot which actually had very little to do directly with race—like Stonewall for gays a few years later, the Detroit riot was due to a police raid on a bar (albeit unlicensed) that quickly escalated into something else. There was apparent racism among members of the police force (which was still more than 90% white in a city that was roughly 1/3 African-American) and many African-Americans distrusted the police but the overall relationship was far less explosive than in the Deep South. Communities did tend to be segregated (but that also applied among white ethnic groups as well) but, as a whole, African-American youth had a pretty equal footing when it came to job opportunities in Detroit (something that couldn’t be said about most cities in the South).

Then, too, there’s the fact that he was just a teenager when Dr King was assassinated (which may have been, if he was remotely politically aware, his first real view of racial hatred during the Civil Rights era), and his age—coupled with his schooling—pretty much allowed him to escape serving in Vietnam (he wouldn’t have been eligible for the draft until 1969, and he is known to have been at Yale in 1971 when he met his future wife). It’s pretty safe to say this being hasn’t known any real hardship based on his race—though I have a feeling if he were to dropped off in white rural areas of Mississippi, Alabama or Georgia (or near a certain gated community in Florida) with no identification, he might find his conservative views might not be enough to keep his black butt from some good old-fashioned “Southern Hospitality” (some of the “good ol’ boys” down here would simply think he’s saying what he thinks they want to hear).

What Mediaite should remember is that FoxNoise does NOT have a “Constitutional right” for its “reporters” to ask a question.

That Henry chose to walk out shows just what level of (im)maturity prevails at FoxNoise.

Joseph West commented on Elisabeth Hasselbeck Pimps Ken Cucccinelli's Candidacy For VA Governor 2013-10-13 01:16:29 -0400 · Flag
Y’know—if Hasselhack hadn’t been so ready and willing to pimp Cooch’s campaign, she might have asked him if he thought there was a correlation between his bad poll numbers and his (failed) case to make oral and anal sex between consenting adults illegal. Of course, Cooch tried to say that the law was “only” intended to protect “the children” (even though Virginia’s laws already prohibit sex between adults and children) but nobody (except, maybe, the braindead FoxNoise viewers) believed that.

I trust this last bit was entirely rhetorical.

“Fox Nation has a lede headlined with the the inflammatory and partisan “Govt’s Amber Alert Site Shuttered, WH First Targets Veterans, Now Targeting Children in Shutdown.” But the website is back online. So will Fox & Friends issue a correction tomorrow? And will Fox Nation take down their story now that their source has issued a correction? What will the Fox say?"

If I know FoxNoise the way I think I know FoxNoise, someone there won’t issue a “correction.” They’ll come back and say something like, “Remember when we told you that Obama shut down the Amber Alert site, well guess what? WE got them to put it back online. That’s right. WE got Obama to back down. WE showed House conservatives how to stay the course.”

And, of course, their sheep will believe every single word of it.

Waitaminnit! “Gold FALLS Following Government Shutdown?” Really? I thought that gold was supposed to be a “sure” commodity—that would only go UP in price whenever there was some economic uncertainty.

Guess a few right-wing shills may have some ‘splainin’ to do.

Joseph West commented on Fox News Mailbag - 10/6/13 Edition 2013-10-06 02:02:27 -0400 · Flag
The first writer certainly has his metaphors crossed. Because Bank of America is outsourcing its business, we don’t need “Obama Care?” Insurance companies could actually hire some of those newly-unemployed people (who’ve lost any type of health insurance they may have been getting thanks to BOA’s outsourcing and will actually stand to benefit from Obama Care—and thanks to the FoxNoise’s support of “big business,” fewer employers are going to be hiring people with any sort of good benefits).

As to the last writer about the National Parks, he might want to understand why the Parks are being closed. There aren’t enough (or, for that matter, any) employees to act as guides or to help visitors who might, oh I don’t know, get attacked by bears or moose in Yellowstone or decide they want a photo op of striking the Liberty Bell, and further damaging that national treasure.
