Stephen Colbert Mocks Fox News' 'Government Slimdown'

Posted by Ellen -7859.80pc on October 06, 2013 · Flag

As of last night, FoxNews.com was still calling the government shutdown a "slimdown." But today, after FNC's new media critic, Howard Kurtz, criticized it - again - they seem to be back to the "shutdown" word. But not before Stephen Colbert had a chance to give them the comedic spanking they deserve!

Here are some screen grabs from last night's FoxNews.com:

And here are some just taken:

But before we say good-bye to "slimdown," enjoy Stephen Colbert's comments on the subject!

Below that is a clip of Kurtz calling the term "a mistake" on his Fox News show, Media Buzz, earlier today, via Media Matters.

Waitaminnit! “Gold FALLS Following Government Shutdown?” Really? I thought that gold was supposed to be a “sure” commodity—that would only go UP in price whenever there was some economic uncertainty.

Guess a few right-wing shills may have some ‘splainin’ to do.

Orange Boner just can’t stop kissing Teabagger butt. What will the Fux Noise euphemism be when Boner causes a national debt default in two weeks? A minor cash shortfall?

If anything deserves the Colbert treatment, it's Fox's ridiculous spin via the term "government slimdown" instead of "government shutdown."
