What? Did Megyn not feel the story of two violent WHITE escaped criminals from a New York prison merited any attention?

(On a side note: When the story first broke and I saw what the girl was wearing, I had to ask myself what the cop’s problem was. Did he really think she had some sort of concealed weapon that she was going to pull on him? That the episode of “Married with Children” where Bud’s making an exercise video that’s been financed by some mobsters was real? At the end of the episode, it turns out that the back-up exercise girls—who are basically wearing nothing more than bikinis—are actually Federal agents and they’ve all pulled out some big guns on the mobsters. Bud’s only question is where did they hide the guns because he’d “thoroughly” checked them out—at which point, he’s also arrested, presumably for his overzealous body checking.)

By the way, BarbaraB, it was Varney who did the “name calling.” Fox merely said that Varney was lying. THAT sounds like an “opinion” (which, for the record, is perfectly legal) just like Varney’s little “joke” (did he offer proof that people in his fellow locals in “upstate New York” really did say that?).

Saying someone is lying is NOT “name calling.” (And when you invite someone on your show because he’s critical of Obama but also opposes one of your network’s positions at the same time, there’s something worse than “lying” for which you can/should be accused.)

Apparently, Ricky has forgotten a couple of points about the Papacy. It’s not only a religious job, it’s also a political job. He’s not merely the Head of the Roman Catholic Church; he’s also the Head of State for the State of Vatican City (which was accorded full diplomatic relations by Ronald Reagan way back in 1984; the US has an ambassador to the Holy See).

Hell, I’m not even a Catholic and I know the Pope is both the spiritual leader of the world’s Roman Catholics and the temporal leader of the Holy See and its environs known as Vatican City.

@ Eyes on Fox: This wasn’t a question of “employers fir[ing] anybody.” The girl was NOT hired in the first place (to be fired, one must be hired) based on an assumed religious belief/practice.

Furthermore, even in “right-to-work” states, you cannot be fired at-will IF the employee feels they’ve been unfairly terminated. If an employee feels he or she has been terminated due to political, religious, racial or gender-related reasons, the employee can go to EEOC and file a complaint. It’s then on the employer to prove the termination was based on VALID reasons that don’t violate EEOC conditions.

And given A&F’s previous skirmishes with EEOC laws (where certain ethnic groups were passed over in hiring because they didn’t “fit” the company’s “cool image”), it’s obvious the company didn’t learn its lesson. Maybe now A&F has.

Let me guess, Brian. You’d have absolutely NO problem if a comment advocating violence against some prominent GOP prosecutor or politician appeared on a liberal/progressive website—by a “troll”—and said comment wasn’t reported and taken down immediately?

I really don’t have the stomach to sit through anything presented on FoxNoise so my comment may seem like a blind man attempting to perform brain surgery but is it possible that Williams was acting as a “devil’s advocate” (irony well noted here)?

Aside from his bizarre little moment of Islamophobia, he’s always seemed pretty open to presenting (or at least hearing) both sides of an argument so I can’t understand why he would deliberately suggest the “persecuted Christian” meme was genuine without intending to set up Gutfeld for his attack on the Duggars.

Again, I didn’t watch the segment so maybe I’m just giving Williams too much benefit of the doubt and he was having a genuine FoxNoise moment.

I know that Megyn’s days as an attorney were more on the commercial/corporate side of the profession (she worked for Jones Day, an international powerhouse law firm that deals with commercial law) BUT surely all law students take some classes* in criminal law at some point in law school so they have SOME minor understanding that fondling someone who’s asleep or unconscious is STILL criminal activity; it’s non-consensual sexual activity (and Megyn’s old enough to be aware that marital rape has been considered criminal activity since she was in elementary school; I only bring up marital rape because, for centuries, a wife’s consent wasn’t required or even acknowledged—it was her “duty” to lay back and take it whenever the husband wanted).

*You know—like how college students are required to take classes outside their major field to graduate. Like biology majors have to take some chemistry classes. So I’d think a law student needs a couple of courses on “consent” even for corporate law majors (that’s why parents generally have to sign off when their minor children want to get an after-school or summer job; a job application is a type of contract).

Maybe Sorvino might want to consider the Taliban and al-Qaeda before he thinks that getting rid of ISIS would be anything less than a protracted conflict. Since Dubya launched his attacks on Afghanistan, al-Qaeda has expanded (even though it lost its “face”) into all sorts of other territories and even inspired dozens of other terrorist organizations (like Boko Haram and al-Shabaab) before ISIS came onto the scene. (And, it’s worth pointing out to “Mr Expert” that ISIS wouldn’t have really developed if it hadn’t been for a certain Shrub in the White House and his lies about a certain Baathist dictator’s ties to terrorism and nuclear weapons.)

I’m sorry. Has Giuliani read any of the stories involving the TSA? I’ve read plenty of stories of passengers—who are NOT terrorists—“getting angry” with TSA people over being asked to “step aside.”

Marco, you’ve sort of forgotten to mention that it was Mama Duggar who chose to record a message (used as a robocall) aimed at the citizens of Fayetteville, AR, to overturn a city council decision to end discrimination against LGBTs in that city. Oh. Did I forget to mention the message in her call turned out to be incredibly ironic?

Here’s the message as posted on the Advocate’s website (from August of last year):

“Hello, this is Michelle Duggar,” the robocall begins. "I’m calling to inform you of some shocking news that would affect the safety of Northwest Arkansas women and children. The Fayetteville City Council is voting on an ordinance this Tuesday night that would allow men — yes, I said men — to use women’s and girls’ restrooms, locker rooms, showers, sleeping areas and other areas that are designated for females only.

“I don’t believe the citizens of Fayetteville would want males with past child predator convictions that claim they are female to have a legal right to enter private areas that are reserved for women and girls. I doubt that Fayetteville parents would stand for a law that would endanger their daughters or allow them to be traumatized by a man joining them in their private space. We should never place the preference of an adult over the safety and innocence of a child. Parents, who do you want undressing next to your daughter at the public swimming pool’s private changing area?”

Apparently in the world of Mamma Duggar, transwomen are a greater threat to the safety of young girls than her own son REALLY was/is.

It’s also worth noting that the “Family” Research Council was founded by James Dobson, a man who compared the raising of children to raising dogs (in his retelling he claims to be “embarrassed” when he tells one particular incident but you can’t help but notice he seems to relish the details of how a 200-pound man finally defeats a 12-pound dog) and even recommended fathers should shower with their sons as some sort of homosexuality prevention method (because little boys who think they may be gay are going to NOT like the sight of a bigger penis? I honestly don’t get what Dobson’s overall point was with this notion).

Ellen, I don’t understand. Did Kimberley challenge the guy on her name? (Quoting: “Well, Stephanie [sic], . . . .”) If she didn’t “remind” him who he was speaking to, would there be any reason for her to “challenge” him on anything else?

As to his contention about a “white Republican President,” maybe Ben Carson needs to remind him that he’s just been dismissed as a potential President. And what does that say for Bobby Jindal’s aspirations? (I mean, of course, you and I both know—as do the majority of readers of this site—that there’s no way in Hell that any “minority” is ever going to get that highest of all “honors” with the current batch of GOP primary voters. But still…..for a FoxNoise guest to come right out and say so—even if he’s not aware that’s what he’s done—it still says something about the network.)

Now, as to the “white Republican male” for mayor of Baltimore, bear in mind the only way that could happen is for some major league voter fraud (you know—the stuff right-wingers so vehemently oppose unless it happens to favor them) since the city is 63% African-American and only 29% White (getting a little more specific, only 28% non-Hispanic White—aka, the approved-by-FoxNoise White). So, either the GOP somehow needs to disenfranchise a whole load of African-Americans or get a lot of white GOPers to move into Baltimore to offset all the “blah” people.

Either way, there’s a word in it that doesn’t belong: “Jokes.” Jokes are supposed to be funny; what Gutfeld does in regard to comedy would actually make the Joker frown if not actually cry.
