Fox's Gutfeld Goes Off On 'Sick Creeps,' The Duggars

We can count Greg Gutfeld as another non-Duggar fan. He not only called the family "sick creeps," he questioned whether conservatives would be supporting them if they were Muslim.

On The Five, liberal cohost Juan Williams helped promote the "conservative Christian victim" meme we've seen plenty of on Fox. "Is there a backlash against them because of their Christian values?" Williams asked.

No, Gutfeld said, the backlash is because of their "sick son who molested, maybe, his siblings and was protected by it."

Then Gutfeld really let the Duggars have it.

GUTFELD: Confession, for some people, is a way out of heinous activity. Sick creeps are saying, like, "I have been forgiven and, therefore, isn't that enough?" They are using religion as a shield and that's disgusting. To me, that's disgusting.

Williams interrupted to cite Mike Huckabee's supportive comments about the family. "There's an insensitive bloodthirst," Wailliams said, paraphrasing Huckabee, and that critics are "dredging up sins from long ago to somehow lambast, and unfairly lambast, the Duggars."

Gutfeld smacked that down.

GUTFELD: I wonder if Josh were a member of CAIR, would forgiveness by Huckabee or anybody else be as discussed like this? If the Duggars weren't part of a religious team that you belonged to, would you be as sympathetic? A criminal who exalts an organized religion that you belong to will be treated better than a criminal that is not part of your religious group. ...That's wrong.

As I've previously posted, Fox's Dr. Keith Ablow similarly demolished the "Christian victim" meme on Fox News.

Watch it below, from yesterday's The Five.

Joseph West, Juan Williams was acting as host for this segment, so he was deliberately promoting the Fox line. So in a way, he was acting as devil’s advocate but in another, he was hyping that point of view.

I really don’t have the stomach to sit through anything presented on FoxNoise so my comment may seem like a blind man attempting to perform brain surgery but is it possible that Williams was acting as a “devil’s advocate” (irony well noted here)?

Aside from his bizarre little moment of Islamophobia, he’s always seemed pretty open to presenting (or at least hearing) both sides of an argument so I can’t understand why he would deliberately suggest the “persecuted Christian” meme was genuine without intending to set up Gutfeld for his attack on the Duggars.

Again, I didn’t watch the segment so maybe I’m just giving Williams too much benefit of the doubt and he was having a genuine FoxNoise moment.

MJ took my comment- While it is commendable to see Gutfeld actually have a human view for once, I can’t help but think that it’s because the Duggars have become a 2016 GOP candidates scandal. They’re longtime buddies of all the clown car candidates, and several of the proposed heavy hitters. Not to mention that a lot of these names are trying to have it both ways addressing their associations with them.

As a result, they’re polarizing, or at least staged to be polarizing among the Fox hosts. There’s just as many Megyn Kellies as there are Greg Gutfelds. It’s actually kinda fascinating to watch, if only to try figuring out who really grew a conscience, and who just drew a cred moment when they divvied it up.

If you are religious, and if you really believe in your religion, you would want people to stop using religion as an excuse to hate and to do sick things then only to be forgiven.

Sorry, it’s how I feel.

Chuck, we think Williams and Gutfeld switched bodies.

Gutfeld and Ablow blasting the pseudo Christian Duggars for protecting Joshy’s sick, twisted behavior.

Excuse us while we grab more popcorn.

Oh, give me a break, Juan. Btw, Huckabee’s website has quietly removed the Duggar endorsements for his Presidental run. Looks like the Huckster has decided to move away from the Duggars.

Btw, good for Gutfeld and Ablow on this one.

I guess Roger is about to cut Gutfilled loose, like Ablowme, apparently: can’t think of any other reason these two would go off-script.

But, let’s not forget the REAL reason these Fox talking heads are throwing the Duggars under the bus all of a sudden: the Duggars have been photographed with several of the GOP presidential candidates — as the GOP’s official press arm, Fox can’t afford to have their brand(s) tarnished (any more than they already are) . . .

The family that diddles together stays together. Just shout “Praise Jeesus” and all is forgiven.

Another Fox News talking head doesn't buy the "Christian victim" meme.
