Last night, Jon Stewart predictably took some pokes at Fox News during his interview with Fox’s Dana Perino. Apparently, that got under the very thin skin of Perino’s The Five co-host, Eric Bolling.
It started with a discussion about dogs. Stewart said, “Doesn’t the other guy on The Five have a dog who’s, like, named - like who’s the dumb guy? Who’s the dumb guy?
It turned out Stewart meant Bolling, who has a dog named Freedom. “After the Freedom Towers,” Perino said. “So watch the jokes.”
“No, no I would never insult a dog named for something. My dog’s named Holocaust,” Stewart joked. “You want to have a dog tragedy-off, I think I got that covered.”
Stewart got in a few more digs at Fox News. Then, at the end of the interview, Stewart told Perino, “Tell the dumb guy I say hi.”
Today, Bolling returned fire:
BOLLING: The guy is so obsessed with hating Fox News that he spent a lot of the time taking shots at us, especially me. Apparently, I’m living rent-free inside Stewart’s head. Whatever Jonny Boy. Your time would have been better spent talking to Dana about her book. …Had you done your homework, you might have learned something, Dummy.
Afterward, cohost Greg Gutfeld said, “You showed him, Eric.”
This is not the first time Bolling and Stewart have exchanged words. It’s not the first time Bolling has called Stewart “Dummy” or “Jonny Boy,” either.

Anita Hall – I wonder if Comedy Central is having Trevor Noah watch Fox “News” in preparation for him taking over the Daily Show?
In fairness, though, I suppose if Jon had intended it to mean any of the FoxNoise females, he would’ve probably said “Dumb Blonde.”
Perino: “Could you be more specific?”
Translation: Both of them are dumb. Which one are you asking about?
To correct Bolling…what Stewart does isn’t “hating” on FOX “news”. If Bolling actually paid attention instead of automatically screaming “hater!”, HE might actually learn something from Stewart who has a keen eye for calling out the ridiculousness of our media. He can’t stand what our media outlets try to pass off as news and facts to the folks. Bolling is a part of the media problem and he knows damn well that Stewart has caught him being the “worst math teacher ever” and a biased jackass on several occasions. And it’s not just FOX “news” (which shows that Bolling doesn’t really watch “The Daily Show” much) as Stewart goes after other media outlets too (with tons of pokes taken at CNN).
