Remember when Bill O’Reilly insisted that nobody on Fox News makes personal attacks? It must have slipped his mind when un-funnyman Dennis Miller went off on Bill and Hillary Clinton last night – mostly Hillary - as O’Reilly laughed along.

In her new memoir, Hillary Clinton wrote that she had refused to attack Sarah Palin “for being a woman” in 2008, when Palin had first secured the Republican vice presidential nomination and the Obama campaign feared she might draw away disaffected Hillary supporters. But instead of graciously acknowledging and appreciating the kindness, Palin used the anecdote to smear and attack.

The surge in undocumented children from Central America, who have been apprehended after crossing our southern border, is a humanitarian crisis. But not so for the rabidly anti-immigrant, right wing xenophobes who are politicizing the issue in order to blame Pres. Obama for the "invasion" of these scary brown people. The surge of children at our border is problematic and as such, it deserves to be discussed by those who have an understanding of immigration issues such as attorneys, those who work with the immigrant community, and those who are familiar with the political dynamics of the children's countries of origin. But not so for Megyn Kelly who, on Monday night, discussed the situation with Obama hating Judge Napolitano and Fox's favorite racist xenophobe and crackpot "filmmaker" Dennis Michael Lynch who was able to have Kelly's blessing for more of his anti-immigrant, anti-Obama crazy talk. 

Yesterday, the Outnumbered show reacted to Hillary Clinton’s interview with ABC’s Diane Sawyer just the way you’d think: by smearing and attacking her. Fox psychiatrist Dr. Keith Ablow was the “one lucky guy” who piled on, in this case, by suggesting that the only reason people support her is because she’s a woman and that her only qualifications are being the wife of a former president.

Megyn Kelly did her part to deflect criticism of right-wing attacks on Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl and his family in the wake of his recovery from Taliban captivity. Instead of hosting an honest debate on the subject, Kelly presented one of Fox’s most rabidly anti-Bergdahl critics as some kind of impartial military analyst and prompted him with loaded, anti-Obama questions.

When David Brat’s victory over Eric Cantor was announced last night, less than halfway into The O’Reilly Factor, Fox spent the rest of its prime time coverage discussing the stunning upset. Yet there was a gaping hole in its more than 2 ½ hours of coverage: the Cantor perspective.

The friends on the curvy couch of Fox & Friends pride themselves on being Jesus' best friends which, in their particular version of Christianity, means that they are free to engage in not very Christian attacks against those whom fellow Christian warrior Roger Ailes is seeking to smite. In its ongoing crusade to never waste an opportunity to attack the President, Steve Doocy, on this morning's Fox & Friends used a discussion of the Office of Faith Based Initiatives to attack President Obama for taking this office down the road to perdition - unlike the Office's Founder, George W Bush who, according to Doocy's guest, was a truly sainted figure who cared about "community." (Warning: This video could produce a gag reflex or even worse...!!!)

Newly minted right-wing darling, David Brat, had a long, friendly visit with Sean Hannity tonight. Near the end of his last segment, Hannity asked for his alternative to ObamaCare. Brat said he wants people to "see the full cost of health care."

Sean Hannity took no time last night to cover the shootings in Las Vegas over the weekend, even though two police officers were executed by fans of Hannity’s BFF-until-it-was-inexpedient, outlaw rancher Cliven Bundy. We agreed with Charles Pierce, writing in Esquire, when he wrote in April that Hannity’s promotion of Bundy’s lawlessness was going to help get somebody killed. Now that it has, Hannity seems to be hiding from the story.

The only good thing about Fox News' hate-filled and exploitative coverage of Bowe Bergdahl is how Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert can mine it for comedy gold. At FNC's expense.
