Newly minted right-wing darling, David Brat, had a long, friendly visit with Sean Hannity tonight. Near the end of his last segment, Hannity asked for his alternative to ObamaCare. Brat said he wants people to "see the full cost of health care."
In his final appearance on Hannity, Brat alleged that he doesn’t think “a lot of folks in D.C. understand what free markets are.” That means, Brat said, “we have to put an end to all these tax credits and tax deductions and loopholes” with a “Reaganesque” flat rate or a couple of flat rates. Brat called that “pro growth.” Of course, he failed to mention it’s regressive for most of us.
Brat also spoke about the debt and immigration. Then he responded to Hannity's question about ObamaCare:
It’s obvious we’ve gotta first separate the insurance issue from the healthcare issue. The health care costs are the most fundamental problem – and the reason there is a healthcare cost problem is just simple economics. It’s because the consumer is not seeing the full price of healthcare.
Right? If you take your kid in for the sniffles, you pay $20 but the full cost is $200. And so we need to get back to the price system where you see the full cost of healthcare and then people will make smarter decisions. That’ll reduce healthcare costs and it’s a huge part of our economy.
Brat didn’t explain what he exactly means by having consumers “see the full cost of healthcare.” But I have a strong suspicion he doesn’t just mean “see the full cost” but “pay more.”
In doing a little research, I discovered that Brat has vowed to repeal ObamaCare and wants to do away with employer-based health insurance. Instead, he wants to “give those incentives to individuals to carry their own portable health insurance.”
Considering that Brat just said he wants to do away with all tax credits, you have to wonder what kind of “incentives” he has in mind. But one thing is clear: he wants to do away with a system where the majority of people have subsidized health insurance and replace it with one where nobody does. And when he talks about “smarter decisions” one suspects that he means “get less healthcare.”
Slightly off-topic, but can’t be said enough: Check out this clown’s social media. His Twitter’s basically Jared Miller’s, with better spelling.
Smarter decisions like what- feed my kids this week or let my baby suffer with an infection?
Asshole!
“Hannity once again inserted his canard that the ACA website cost $700 million. That is an outright lie, yet he repeats it numerous times every week.”
Dear Richard: That’s because, like all his fellow reichwingers, KKKlannity learned the “Big Lie” propaganda tactics from that notorious Nazi propaganda minister Josef Goebbels. That is why I will ALWAYS call his boss Rupert Murdoch “Herr Goebbels II”. After all, remember this ancient proverb:
“IF THE SHOE FITS, WEAR IT!”
And always remember these infamous words of Josef Goebbels from the 1930s:
“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”
“The only things that these assholes believe in are tax cuts for the rich and endless foreign wars against nasty Muslims.”
AMEN! And mark my words: if (heaven forbid) Republicans capture the White House AND both houses of Congress in 2016, these wars will naturally be fought by the loved ones of OTHER people (i.e. the working class folks like me who post here) — NOT by the loved ones of these LONGTIME PERENNIAL PFCs:
P – PRIVILEGED
F – FASCIST
C – CHICKENHAWKS
’Nuff said.
Teabagger Brat believes in health care only for the wealthy. The rest of us are shit out of luck. If the GOPiggies take control of the White House and the Congress in 2016, you can kiss goodbye to Obamacare, Medicare and Medicaid.
The only things that these assholes believe in are tax cuts for the rich and endless foreign wars against nasty Muslims.
Bundy fan Hannocchio has found a new male love, Dave Brat. Expect to see Brat numerous times on Hannocchio’s radio and television shows pushing off-the-wall agendas.
We already know what’s coming down the pipeline.
NOTE TO HANNITY
Who else are you going to scoop from your Fox “News” colleagues?
In that interview, health insurance didn’t come up at all.
Wtih the state tea party buying off the one democrat who was preventing them from denying Medicaid to thousands, and now this, VA is on its way to leaving North Carolina behind as the most reactionary state in the “new South.”
All making Hannocchio one happy slimeball. On the radio (Mon), he told his listeners (all 22 of them) how proud he was to be supporting Chris McDaniel over Thad Cochran. No RINO, this Slanthead!
An musical addendum to my comment in the earlier post about Hannity’s inflammatory support for right wing separatists:
Bad Sean, bad Sean, whatcha gonna do?
Whatcha gonna do when they come for you?
