It's not as if Fox News' Saturday business shows are really about business but the facade may have been permanently shattered by the arrival of Sarah Palin on this morning's Cashin' In. Today's "insights" included her response to whether or not we can trust the IRS and/or the federal government. "Is a bear Catholic? Does the Pope live in the woods?" she answered.

It has now been four years and two months since Sean Hannity offered to be waterboarded (or "dunked" as he sometimes calls it) to prove that it is not torture. Yet he has not fulfilled his promise. After such a long time, I do not expect him to. But I feel this is an important issue to keep alive - not to ridicule Hannity (although it's tempting) - but to point out that his failure to follow through on his promise is an implicit acknowledgment that it is, indeed torture.

Mediaite - blind as ever to most of Fox News' bias - just happened to score an interview with Howard Kurtz on the eve of his surprising move from CNN to Fox. In it, there's this even more surprising statement: "Kurtz said that he expects to be an independent voice on Fox and his criticism of media personalities and institutions will be as sharp as it was on CNN." Really, Mr. Kurtz?

Sean Hannity likes to say he believes President Obama is a Christian but Hannity loves to suggest Obama is a Muslim. In fact, in a recent Playboy interview, Hannity again denied promoting the myth – at the same time that he helped perpetuate it. So last night, in a segment that purported to be about President Obama’s speech in Northern Ireland, Hannity twisted Obama’s words about overcoming divisions between Catholics and Protestants into some kind of innuendo that Obama is hostile to Catholic and Protestant schools because he favors Muslim ones.

On yesterday’s Your World, Rep. Steny Hoyer (D-MD) spoke with Neil Cavuto about two straight days of big losses on Wall Street. Cavuto “asked” Hoyer, “Do you think the President bears any blame? In that all of these scandals, whether of his own doing or the White House’s doing and I guess the investigations, we’ll get to the bottom of each and all, that it’s cast a pall. …They’re each their own cases, I grant you, but it does sort of frustrate Americans who think that at the very least he’s out to lunch and at worst he’s behind this?”

Sean Hannity's pal, Bill Cunningham - a regular guest who loves to use Barack Obama's middle name (and insinuates that it's related to his supposedly lax war on terror) - may have finally gone too far last night. This time, Cunningham exploded at Fox News contributor (and Hannity admirer), liberal Tamara Holder, telling her to "know your place and shut your mouth." And more.

I've already posted about the bizarre - and probably not long-lasting - pairing of Howard Kurtz and Fox News. But here's at least one person at Fox who was likely not happy to discover the name of his latest colleague: Sean Hannity. To say he's not a fan would be an understatement.

Forget the "lone gunman" and how, according to Sean Hannity, Hillary Clinton could have rubbed out Vince Foster. Fox News - yeah, I'm talking their official "fair & balanced" so called news - is promoting a new conspiracy about the death of journalist Michael Hastings who was tragically killed, earlier this week, in a car crash.  Sounds pretty straightforward, right?  Not so for conspiracy theorists whose latest speculation is being spread on Fox. While the theory presented is nowhere near as elaborate as Glen Beck's or Michele Bachmann's  paranoid anti-government ravings, it does seem to suggest that there is no depth to which Fox "News" will not go in order to implicate the Obama administration in dirty deeds. Yes, gentle readers, it appears that either "Democrats" or, more insidiously, Pres. Obama himself could be behind Hastings death because Megyn Kelly tells us that "some are asking if there's more to his death than meets the eye." And that, as said in Plan 9 From Outer Space, "proves it!"
