Howard Kurtz Joining Fox News

Posted by Ellen -7859.80pc on June 20, 2013 · Flag

File this one under "What Was He Thinking?"

Howard Kurtz is not my favorite media critic but I thought he had some cred and some smarts - in between flaunting his Villager status. But now he has completely jumped the shark in joining Fox News. Mediaite reports:

Beginning July 1st, the network said in a press statement, Kurtz will anchor a version of what is now called Fox News Watch, which airs Saturdays on the network. He will also serve as an on-air analyst for the network throughout the week, in addition to writing a regular column for FoxNews.com.

...

Kurtz’s comment:

“I’m excited to be bringing my independent brand of media criticism to Fox News. I want to thank CNN for giving me such a prime opportunity over the years and was tempted to continue, but the chance to create a revamped program and establish a strong online presence was too good to pass up. I hope to add a new dimension to Fox’s coverage and have some fun while diving into the passionate debates about the press and politics.”

Either Kurtz is too naive to know that Fox will NEVER stray from its GOP-promoting/liberal-bashing agenda, no matter how much revamping they do of his program, or he's willing to go along with it for the sake of "a strong online presence" and "passionate debats about the press and politics."

The only question in my mind is whether this particular Fox News marriage will break up before the latest go-round with Sarah Palin or after.

From Rob Willhelm’s comment:

“Will HK bleach his hair?”

No Rob — it’s possible he might curl up and “dye” at Faux Spews.

If you can’t shutup your critics, you buy them out with lucrative contracts. That’s how Ruthless Rupy and his lapdogs operate. These bogs use long-term contracts as their business practices.

Kurtz is in for a rude awakening.

NOTE TO KURTZ

Don’t forget to enroll in NewsFitness and cough up $7 a week. You will need it to reduce the stress.

Howie, you are really an incredibly gullible fool or the paycheck speaks louder than your credibility.

Politics makes strange bedfellows. Money makes stranger ones.

Howie knows the drill. He gets a nice paycheck from Jabba the Ailes. In return, he relentlessly trashes our President and Democrats. If he needs a Fux Noise mentor, he can hook up with Pat Wanker Caddell, Doug Schoen or Dennis Kucinich.

Obviously media godfather Herr Goebbels II (i.e. Murdoch) and his faithful toady Herr Goering II (i.e. Roger Ailes, also known as "Jabba the Ailes on this site) made Howard Kurtz an offer he couldn’t refuse.

He can’t possibly believe he will be allowed to bring his independent brand of media criticism to Faux.
