On yesterday’s America’s News HQ, hosts Bill Hemmer and Alisyn Camerota came up with questions that just happened to suggest viewers should dismiss President Obama’s upcoming State of the Union address before he delivered it.

Memo to Fox News: If you're serious about aiming for a younger demographic with Megyn Kelly hosting in prime time, you might want to consider hosting entertainers with hits in this century. Just a thought.

Perhaps in an attempt to cover all its anti-Obama bases, FoxNews.com gave its State of the Union coverage two contradictory headlines. One makes Obama look like a reckless dictator ready to ignore the will of the people. The other paints him as essentially impotent.

On yesterday’s Special Report, White House correspondent Ed Henry acted as though he got paid by the number of Republican talking points he worked into a report on President Obama's upcoming State of the Union address.  And, maybe, the number of contradictions to those talking points he ignored.

Greta Van Susteren challenged her own Fox News colleague yesterday over his sexist attacks on Texas’ Democratic gubernatorial candidate Wendy Davis. Although Van Susteren's smack down was on her Fox News blog, not on her Fox News television show, Van Susteren didn’t pussyfoot around. Her post is called, “What is wrong with this guy? He is such a jerk! He is a repeat offender!”

While those on Fox News frequently accuse those who speak up for minority rights as being "race hustlers" who "play the race card," it appears that if you're talking about race hustling and playing the race card, you're talking about Fox News. America's "fair & balanced" newsroom brought us the "scary black man." The narrative of blacks as criminals who prey on innocent whites was advanced, on Fox, in stories about black on white crime which, according to Greg Gutfeld, reflected "irresponsible" black culture. As Newshounds Ellen reported, Fox News celebrated Martin Luther King Day by race baiting the President. In addition to black "thug" culture, Fox defines African-Americans as part of the "taker" class - as seen in its promotion of the "Obama phone" as a hand-out, like food stamps, to the black community. And while you would expect the racist "Fox Nation" website to feature race baiting photos, you might not think that the "fair & balanced" Fox News website would do the same. Today, they went there!

Jon Stewart skewered Sean Hannity's decision to leave New York (eventually) by putting together a cast of New York "takers" who vow to make the state more appealing to him: a cab driver offers to lose his accent, African Americans promise to stop wearing hoodies, gays pledge to marry the opposite sex, etc. Featuring Nathan Lane, the cast of the Jersey Boys and more!

Nothing tells me that Republicans are terrified of Hillary Clinton’s presidential candidacy more than Republicans and Fox News rehashing Bill Clinton’s old sex scandals. This is before Hillary Clinton has even announced she's running.

Frank Rich has written a lengthy, important and fascinating article in which he argues that Fox News is dying and that liberals play into its hands by paying attention to it. As much as I respect and admire Rich, I think he is dead wrong in his prescription. Let's discuss!
